Hi Izzy! I felt so connected with you when you were talking about self-compassion. I am also a doctor and I am 6 months pregnant. Working, studying, and creating a family are my life and I try to be as productive as I can. Very often I forget that is normal to get tired because of pregnancy that is ok to exercise a couple of days a week only, and that it is ok not to know every detail of the book. I will definitely cultivate more self-compassion. Thank you for such a beautiful and uplifting video. Blessings to you and your lovely family!

I'm going to be focusing on Self Compassion and the 2-minute Tidy practices. I've never held myself in high regard; I've always been super negative toward myself and treat myself poorly compared to my friends and partner. I have very low self-esteem and often am down on myself especially when I get compliments.

Saw a short video the other day, “think about 3 people you love right now”, how many of us can put ourselves on the list? Growing up in Asia, I was submerged with a lot of twisted education or voices of put oneself first is selfish, you’re worthy only when you’re perfect and make everyone proud. Hopefully by realizing how much that hurt ourselves can prevent it for the next generations.

It should indeed not be understated just how important of a role nature has. It is definitely something people have gotten less and less connected to as recent technological and societal developments have put up bigger barriers between the “wild” and the “civilised”. I do wonder sometimes, in what direction this trend is going to continue. There are certainly a few interesting examples of people attempting to re-incorporate nature into society though (such as hanging gardens on skyscrapers). For now though, it is still something people have available, and thus something to have gratitude for.
I would love to connect more with the nature. I do walk to run some errands everyday, but I think I would try to notice and appreciate the beauty of the nature on the street. Waking up early to see the beauty of sunrise or take a moment to admire sunset is also nice❤. Also, I love the part you talk about being kind to yourself and forgive for your own mistakes❤Why dont we give ourselves the love and compassion like we give to others?🥹

I'd add taking 1-2 minutes to reflect over how your day's been going so far, whether you've spent the time you've wanted to, and what do you want to do next. Very similar to somatic pauses but I guess more for the mind. And keeping yourself on track does by extension improve your well-being obviously 😉
It's odd about kindness. When I am feeling vulnerable and someone treats me with kindness, it completely unglues me. It's a lovely thing, but also baffling. Why does kindness make us deeply emotional in response? Odd.
