The door opening to a man weilding a shotgun injecting droogs into an eye with a cat also injecting droogs into their eye, is the reason I keep coming back for mystery quest, it was so cinematic and well done. I loved bens character RIP Davis
Easily the best series so far. Loved how seriously everyone took their characters. Tom is great as always. Trott gets my mvp vote for this series, with ravs as a big follow up. Both did sucha good job
Jenkins hides in the vents of the Poppy as the two infected alien husks rip each other apart in their aggressive psychosis. He then scratches his way into and survives on the stashed food and water supplies until the Poppy is recovered by space scavengers.
I'm impressed by the act structure in this little adventure. They were very distinct in what was prioritized and how they were played. I've got the feeling that the Alien RPG can get a bit samey if you'd play it too much, but this was great!
That combat scene with Cham, Miller, Davis and Rye was like watching an actual action movie. Dice rolls really do make the best, most gripping stories. It could not have been more perfect even if it was a scripted screen play
This genre was done before with the Ypsilon 14 series and yet this topped it and made it feel brand new! Amazing work everyone! Hats off and thanks for a great start to the weekend! Happy to be a member!
The android twist absolutely blew my mind at the end of the last episode - I think I can genuinely say my surprise was on-par with the first time I watched "Alien" and realized there was an additional passenger on the escape shuttle. Well done everyone, that was just fantastic!
All these twists and turns as results of the dice and character motivations are somehow both total surprises and spot on Alien narrative beats at the same time!
An absolutely amazing campaign. The dice rolls were incredible. From Ravs' android being killed by a harpoon after shooting Ben's character three times, to Lydia and Ravs drawing dice rolls several times at the end. Loved every episode!
Yeah a Warhammer fantasy campaign would be fantastic. Would also be great to play the Star wars edge of the galaxy again... Maybe even see Amibo or Gekuck
That was amazing. Loved it. I have been a DnD DM for close to three years. This Alien RPG actual play has inspired me to try a couple of non-DND, including this one, in December.
RIP Davis, you were a true legend. [F] Not gonna lie, I was so invested in Ben's hot shot pilot, his death got to me a little. Sure would be cool to see Tom lead a group through a little Rogue Trader (I was going to say Rogue Trader's Forsaken Bounty but, I dunno if that's still the intro game in the Cubicle Seven era) No well produced groups seem to do any RT on TH-cam.
Wow round of applause to everyone that was awesome, I absoultely loved Ben and Trott's characters they were hillarious and Bens death was the best but worst haha. Poor Ravs for officially having the most deaths in mystery quest haha but that was a good reveal of him being Lucas I loved it. Also RIP big Lids, no matter how hard she tried she couldnt get the funfs to buy her new fancy ship. And thank you MUTHUR for putting this together I really was looking forward to every weekend for the next episode, good job Tom!
Best Mystery Quest yet! The secret agendas created so many exciting situations and everyone played their characters so incredibly well. It was brilliant.
Awesome series, from the atmospheric sound editing, Trott being a perfect little weasel, to Ben being an action hero. Really glad it was more narrative forward. My personal favourite of all the series so far on the channel.
Absolutely amazing campaign! The secret individual missions and the players taking them so seriously, together with the actual dice rolls created such memorable cinematic scenes! *Spoilers* RIP Actionhero Davis. The opening is hilarious on the idea they though Ben was left to die and they were safe, only for android chaos to break out while Ben is chilling elsewhere. Does make me wonder if the Android would have a problem with Ben given he is trying to destroy all the sample 🤔 Time to watch and find out. Edit: Well I don't think that could have ended worse for the characters lol. Great series.
Yep, it seems like they were pretty much doomed as soon as they breathed in the spores. So, Davis was done as soon as he boarded the Chronos, since he had already ripped up his suit's glove. Wilson was toast when his suit was slashed in his flight from the science labs. Miller would have been fine until her battle with Cham, except she willingly breached her suit to take the injection in med bay. Lastly, Rye was done the moment he boarded the Chronos, as he was not wearing a space suit, and no one told him to. Had he done so, he might actually have survived, as it's unclear if his suit would have been breached during the fight with Johns, because I don't think Johns had claws. It might have all been blunt force trauma. Saying that, he took a severe dose of radiation poisoning and was not going to reach a medical facility any time soon.
@@Techstriker1 Cham handed Rye his antidote (which he had not yet taken for obvious reasons) before leaving the Montero to re-seal the Chronos' hatch, but Tom never said Rye took it.
