@dmanfunnyguy11 1984 fieros had the center decklid vent. The hump was introduced with the new V6 GT, because the V6 did need more room. All model years after 84 had the hump, because it was cheaper to make one decklid to fit all than to make two different ones. So after 84, even with the 4cylinder, the decklid still had the hump.
@churchesablaze666 The v6 did need more room. They started making the decklids with the humps when the new V6 85GT came out. All fieros from 85 on had the same hump, 4cylinder or v6, because it was cheaper to make the same decklid for all than to make two. In 84, there was a center decklid vent, which was deleted in later model years.
+ZanrielJames I owned a Formula which was yellow (200 made in yellow). I've owned many cars. The Fiero Formula was the most exciting car I ever owned. I still drive a Fiero.
@CharlieLUVSChevys I have had 5 fieros, and none of them have ever caught fire. I currently have an 86GT with a 3800 Series II Supercharged engine out of an 03 GTP. It runs 12.8s in the 1/4 mile (Not stock), and I do very well in autocross as well. The car is lowered, with poly bushings, add-on swaybar, and adjustable coilovers. Fieros will outhandle many of todays sports cars if they are built right. Last season, I pulled 1.03G on a 200ft skidpad. Just goes to show how capable they really are.
I have a 1988 black Fiero GT with under 45k miles. It still runs and drives like new. In my opinion this isn't a Formula without the door decals. Oh and the sunroof glass is stored in the front.
On a stock engine, the gain would be exactly zero. Fiero EPROM chips are already set up to get the maximum performance out of the engine, they're not held back to improve emissions like modern cars. Even if you upgrade to an H260 cam, you should have a custom chip burned to exactly your setup, not an off-the-shelf Hypertech.
It's a THREE speed automatic TH-125 with torque converter lockup. It is not a 4 speed. Since it's been repainted, it's missing the FORMULA decals on the doors.
I'd rip off the lambo kit and return it to Fiero. They only made 6000 Formulas so tear apart a GT. Leave the Formulas alone. They made 360,000 GT's only 6000 Formulas. The Lambo kits exterior is nice but the interior always looks like a cheap kit car plus they don't corner as well because you have to lengthen the chassis.
@CharlieLUVSChevys thats not true man check your sources the only year that caught fire was the 85 straight 4s and pontiac proved that was driver error not mechanical. secondly the reason they stopped making this car was because it was stealing some of the thunder away from the more expensive trans am and corvette. and lastly they werent pieces of crap in 86 they made corners better then an 86 ferrari testarosa and beat the 1986 lamborghini diablo in acceleration so stop speaking out of your ass
That is the best fiero ever it has all of the gt performance and is lighter.the gt is heavier with the skin with a few upgrades and a engine swap it will blow about anything away when the fiero was first produced the plan was to put bigger motors in them. they blow away vetts on the race tracks and both are two seater sport cars but the fiero has a mid engine were the vett did not gm did not want fiero on the same class. it would had killed the vett there faster an cost less with a mid engine.
I've seen better! A guy outside Olympia Washington has one with 27 miles. It only had 4 miles (he was keeping it as future collectable) when his grandson stole it and took it for a joy ride, including a little off-roading. I don't think he's his favorite grandkid anymore!
sunroof stores in front trunk not the back.
sunroof is stored in front not the back fyi
I love these little cars! I'm 6ft3in and I have a surprising amount of headroom.

The '88 Formula was the best version of the car. It has the classic notchback styling with almost all of the upgrades of the GT.

Notchback looks so dated. I like the fastback styling way better. Still looks like a modern car.
Wondering if you might have a line on a 1988 formula fiero for sale
I had one years ago. Good times
Supercharger kit is not available for the 2.8 pushrod motor.
GOd those Pontiac V6's are the BEST sounding engines i've heard yet.

"Those engines...are pretty bullet proof"

Sun roof stores in the front.
That cars going to be mine soon!

A super Charger? A Turbo Charger? Maybe a 3800SC but that is a new engine NOT a stock engine modified.
they are surprisingly very roomy.
its a 85 or 6 mate. they change the sails after that.
Kazin not to mention my 87 has the power mirror control on center console
Holy shit so much misinformation in this video.
Brandon Yancar It isn't even a 88 smh
+Native Outdoors that's a real '88 Formula.
Its an '88. Why are people saying otherwise?
+click789101112 they don't realize not all
Fieros after 86 are fastbacks

Is that Al Bundy!?!?
Turn off that flashing sign next time you make a video.
4 speed automatic with overdrive? Try a 3 speed automatic.

I don't care about any business you've conducted (Archie or Cletus). I was just commenting on your obsession with leaving derogatory comments.

they never had a 4 speed automatic...came later...
youre obsessed.

literally. there is no 4 speed auto
I bought this car in 12th grade for 2000$ I saved that money wile working at a restaurant.
hardcore facepalm......
You can't get that much power out of a 2.8
Under $10k? I'd hope so. Fiero's go for about $1500. lmao.
Not ones like this, bro. Low mileage V6 GTs and Formulas can easily go for $8-9k.
didnt these cars have a habit of how do i put this combusting, hence the name fiero.
TheBelgium989 The 84 Fieros yeah
