    Useless isn’t the word to describe it. It’s anti-worth. If you have a company and all of its assets excluding the HR Department total $500,000, when you include the HR Department in with the assets, the company has like $83.

    ya right .HR Department should be there only in the first week and last week of the month and remaining days they should be deputed to some technical or non-technical assistance work.so that complete utilization of manpower can be achieved....

    Guys Hr department people normally have to work closely with the management of the company. If you want good HR people then please work for a company that have good HR policies for their employees.

      @@oneluckygirl3974 its a challenging job not because of the complex task or anything like that. Challenge is to keep all interested parties happy all together.
      To keep employees, state government and business owner ( higher management ) everyone happy at the same time.
      Its takes lot of efforts to win trust of employee, not every hr takes that needed extra mile to go after which a beautiful connection can be build with employees.
      Do u want to be a hr dear ?
      If yes dont doubt go for it !!
      Its all about how u deal with emotions and people.

    This is funny as hell..!! I loved it..!! :D
    But frankly we should enjoy this video keeping aside our logic and brains!! You people have no idea on how an organisation works do you!! You think that HR people are not employees of the company?? and these policies doesn't apply to them??
    And you need to remember that engineers are not the only employees. People from sales, HR, Finance, Admin also come under this thing..
    The notion that you have that coding is everything is laughable. You need the sales team to sell your product and get the revenues from the uncharted segments of the market. You need finance team to keep a tab on how the budget is allocated to do all the activities with in an year. HR will help the managers to get the talent from the Market, Identifying and meeting the training needs of existing staff, Ensuring employee welfare and employee relations are positive and the list goes on.. Admin team to address your needs from getting a pen to the security of your office!!
    But it is what it is!! Thumbs up for the video though!!

    I am working in the HR Department of a reputed organization. There is so much work to be done. Sometimes I have to stay for 10 hrs instead of 8. But anyways I or any other HR cannot change the perception of a person .

    I think i should start appreciating our hr dept. They value employee efforts work along the management to get staff increments promotions and facilities. This is one reason i dont want to leave my company.

    The HR in my organisation is the only department that works till late. People should understand that HR is a staff function and does not hold any authority of its own. Whether it's recruitment, separation, disciplinary action, performance appraisal, training - everything is done on the recommendations of line managers. It might be possible that HRs in very small organisations are comparatively free, hence the stereotype. But believe me, you DO NOT want to work in the HR department of a bigger organisation.

    If you are feeling that HR is just a useless department, annoying or bullying the Co-workers or employees of the Organization, then do meet some Real HR People. As already said, she was from the Accounts Department handed HR Responsibilities. A Real HR never does such type of activities.

    funny but stereotypical...its like blaming a housewife of doing nothing . Yet another example of human tendency to hate the ones who can control them in anyway be it their boss or hr departement or a client as such. and people an, HR manager cannot fire you without your boss getting involved in the major front.

      Lol statistically speaking HR DEPARTMENT is the most overstaffed department, it's a fact. They are there to do the bidding of the higher ups, glorified bullies. Few nice ones exist and the degree is really helpful. But in reality they don't do anything of that sort. That's the reason people hate them cause they've had experience where the HR department treats them in the mist inhumane way

      Typical HR are nothing but keep befouling employees..
      On Monday, joining with induction with virtual sample heaven - HR office - with more bunch of promises,
      On Tue, select tender of contractor for Fun of Festival/Canteen/Chair etc Or Work FOR Home from Home ,
      On Wed, have lots of fun & festivals at cost of customer facing employees' cost,
      On Thursday, read email of issues of employee in Exit interview.. :P
      On Friday, have firing of employee if that employee retained with more salary than HR's salary :P :p
      On Saturday, Simply interview for vacancy happen/created on Thursday/ Friday :D...:P
      On Sunday, confirm with same bunch of verbal promises to reduce Salary.
      On every last week of Month .... Stress release ...Have Long Vacation with all collected Comp Off & Commissions of Recruitment, Contract, Tenders, Bonus ....

    Hamare referral gayab kar deten hain and consultant ke le leten hain.
    maja to tab aata hai, jab hamare referral ko, consultant ka referral bataten hain. And they refuse to pay us referral money.

    If we dont have an HR Office:
    - HODs should take z responsibility of recruitment.... till the staffs left the organisation! If the manager starts doing basics of HR activities who will look after the operatives
    - Payroll to be taken by finance
    - other tasks should be distributed among other depts like sales, marketing for communication, Events organisation,
    Managers should be honest, no distrimination...

    Yes.. quite true..they all are the same..but on contrary i think so that if HR guys want, they can really use their position in the welfare of employees. After all they are HR are also employees too. We would look forward seeing HRs to subject themselves to great improvement and try to make the work place really a best place to work as they have got all capability to do this. Also if employees will not be disturbed by the useless matters the output and productivity will increase.

    I'm sorry to say this, a HR person can work in an organisation in various other departments but not in recruitment, cause most human resources people here are like robots they just what their boss HR tell them, look for age, qualification, and the employees willingness to work for less salary, most HR dont know if the person has the skill to work cause they did not work in that field they are recruiting for and also they dont know the commitment level and how dedicated the employee will be, also I've noticed that they recruit people that dont know to speak English properly they look for quantity not quality, that's why a lots of foreigners dont like to speak to India's and we lose our business to other countries esp. Philippines....

    Worst department ever.. There are several major issues that an organisation happens to have. But these guys are just concerned about which girls have come in loose hairs, noting down the list of people who come late after the lunch, who’s helping their colleagues in writing up mails/letters and all such petty puppy issues.
    In fact this department is not even required to post salaries. Finance can very well do that.

    Started with a disgusting scene and continued! You think HR is useless? How come you work in a MNC and can't even calculate your own salary and Chase the HR any time, any day?!! If HRs would have looked into the face only while hiring, companies would never get their targets! HRs hire brilliant workers and they do care about employee welfare & again they are solely responsible for code of conduct in the office. If employees would have free to do anything then company ka toh adha cheez chori aur bina kaam kay salary leke Ghar pe so rahe hote. Aur Jo HRs hiring aur firing ke time din raat office pe hote Hain woh toh kaam hi nahi karte right? Itna problem hai HRs se toh desh mein police kyun hai? Hata do unhe v? Kyun ki rules toh gayi bhaad mein. Sab ko bas maze Karne hai..

    Yes I didn't like the video & I am HR Professional. & I am not writing all this in offensive way but trying to show other side.
    I am not denying the whole thing in video....but Makhkhi marna, seriously dude?
    You just think & show about Corporate HR, go & see the kinda work Plant HR does. remember Maruti Case?
    I have seen kinda HRs too but not all are same.
    HR is thankless & sandwiched job - between management & other staff people. Dude after all HR is also an employee.
    Many people come to HR when they don't have idea of how to save tax & get tax benefits....Remember HR
    If any one gets abscond HR is blamed...hey but that guy wasn't into HR Department why can't it be any of his or her Colleague or his manager/ HOD.
    sharing the secret: when your boss are not able to tell you truth about your under performance status, Manager runs & hide behind HR & the words you get to hear are from your own Manager or supervisor. obviously, we get report from them.
    salary....being an employee even i was cheated though in HR. As all the technical staff were recognized as CORE staff with all benefits but HR & Admin+security department were treated as service department - no over time & privilege benefits which was only meant upto core staff.
    End is we all are working for some capitalist & we are many times treated as workers.
    stop bitching or cribbing about any other department. Come on Guys Fun is different from criticizing a profession. Grow up & check your facts but before that match your over expectations too.

    Well according to you HR is a useless department then why do every company have it? I am quite sure every company's owners, chairmans, board of directors etc have more brain than you folks. Why don't they just close the department if what you say is true!
    FYI there are more than 28 Laws that are needed to run a company who will take care of that? PF & ESIC & Payroll Who will handle that? Strategic Human resource development if you understand it then who will handle that. Just because a SME IT company doesn't views HR useful doesn't mean HR is a useless department. Why dont you ask Wipro or TCS or Infosys or the manufacturing companies or the big service industry companies this Query. Iam quite sure they will term you an idiot to call HR an useless department
