Harpeth River Spring Smallmouth Ned Rig Fishing - Resulting in Rock Bass and Spotted Bass

I took my brand new Z-Man Drew's Ultimate Ned Rig Rod (paired with a new Shimano Vanford) and my Bonafide SS127 to the Harpeth River (Middle Tennessee) to catch smallmouth bass, but instead hooked up with Rock Bass and Spotted Bass, who often mistake my smallie lures for candy!

Where do you put your kayak in? I have a 13.5 lure v2 and getting it down the stairs at all the launches in franklin is a pain
