The more i let the Mike Williams trade set in, i like it more and more. We needed another physical deep threat with size to allow GP to run more versatile routes. Seems like a really good fit with Russ 🔥 I’m excited to see what him and Preston Smith can do here
Entertaining day! Just some trade details for those curious: The 5th round pick sent to NY for Mike Williams is the worst slot remaining of their two picks (their own or the Rams as a result of the K. Dotson trade) The 7th round pick sent to GB for Preston Smith is their own draft pick (they also have an additional 7th as a result of the K. Pickett trade) Also note, I mentioned that I thought Williams would be worth a 6th rounder but Pittsburgh doesn't have one to trade right now in the 2025 draft but I was hoping the 2026 6th may be enough. Nonetheless, it won't matter if Williams starts looking more and more like himself.
If Mike Williams catches a couple deep routes while GP14 is being doubled then teams will have to take the safety out of the box to double both wideouts and make the running game more effective
Najee has always been a very good RB, but the struggling passing game & O line has been an anchor. His recent increased production should be surprising and should continue.
To me, scoring hasn’t been an issue this year. Just goofy stuff erasing TDs. I’m curious to see how big of a difference these 2 adds will make in the crucial stretch. Go Stillers
Yo D, Russ now has 6’4 Williams 6’3 Pickens and 6’8 Washington I think they’ve hacked this height problems everyone speaks on with Russ 😂. All red zone targets that can catch fades 💪and beat they’re smaller defender
When trades like this happen I always like to go to the team we traded with social media and I noticed a lot of packers fans thanking smith for his time there and also a lot of packers fans were jokingly asking why they traded there 2nd best CB in smith away. Idk if there’s any significance to that but supposedly he’s good at dropping into coverage?
I don't think the trades move the needle much but I do think they greatly add insurance and maybe open the playbook a little bit. Probably not going to win us more games if we didn't suffer injuries but might make them less of nail biters.
Preston has always been solid. Run defense is definitely a key as we get late into the season. Thats whag we live for. I think preston will workout. He will be another veteran guy who is bigger and stronger that we can switch up. You can never have too much depth especially when you’re trying to make a push for the post season.
What do u think about the idea that williams cost a fifth because our 6th was taken up by the fields deal and our 7th was going to green bay...I don't th8nk they had another pick to trade that made sense
Yeah, I think that explanation makes sense. It’s just that I didn’t think he was worth that compensation considering the film this year but hope it works out.
The biggest thing about this is can GP take that mental step and let these other guys feed off him running the field or if this childish mentality will persist. He has to show hes a true alpha every snap or this means nothing
We got our wide receivers and a new run stopper now we need to ball out the commanders ravens eagles and chiefs won’t be an easy schedule anymore we need to be on our A game to win Pickens and Williams will ball out Calvin at slot and defense is gonna be solid hopefully

Had to do something
Just check out his highlights with Herbert. DAWG! Last year he had 267 in only 2 games before tearing his ACL 267 in 2 games 😂💪
Steelers need to consistently put up 28 points a game against the good teams. Do not take your foot off the gas ever when you’re ahead.

They needed to add more fire power and Williams can provide that if he gets into form.

@@BOtH3R need to improve down there for sure
Solid moves for pennies on the dollar. The team is getting healthy, Cam Sutton is back in the slot. Good bye week/trades ready for part 2.
Awesome!

That’s a joke about their old DC who got fired lol
Who they cutting or do they have to cut players?
Rodney Williams was let go

Solid depth.
I personally would like to see a film room if you have the time. I like your videos and would like to hear your thoughts.

For a late 7th? Yeah I’m for that all day.
Derrick hello good moves both I think
Yooo
Do you think they ever mix him in the 3T rotation?
I don’t think so. He’s not that type of rusher imo.
Love both trades.
Just hoping Preston Smith doesn't turn into another Melvin Ingram
Don’t think that’ll be the case but hopefully they can properly utilize all the skill sets
I think Smith knows Watt and Highsmith are the starters and he will get limited snaps. 👌
Does Smith get a lot of snaps against Derrick Henry?
No just some reserve snaps, still gonna be watt/Highsmith primarily.
Has to. Cause NH can't play the run against a DH.

Need film rooms plz db
Mike dub too if u can
In Williams defense how motivated are you to give full burst when you know QB not going to throw it to you
He was getting targets but Rodgers is a diva and has his guys. He’s just somebody you gotta earn his trust and he never did.

I’m not sure anyone knows the answer to that lol just fingers crossed
Perhaps Preston can show Queen how to tackle
Well they play 2 entirely different positions so not sure why you'd post something so stupid
@ cause one knows how to tackle, and one doesn’t you rookie.

He’s built like Leal 😂
Leal’s body has shifted multiple times in Pittsburgh bc he doesn’t have a real position. But smith is a different style rusher.
Mike Williams has less catches yards and Tds than C Austin and on top of that he is often injured. Seems sketchy
Sketchy is using stats and not the full context to make an argument.
