This is a simple case! She’s incompetent and needs to be removed.
Not just incompetent. She's willfully incompetent in favor of the defendant, whom she has obvious conflicts of interest regarding. She's probably not incompetent in reality. She's just behaving this way at the bidding of some wealthy and powerful Trump supporters' direction. She has gone to great lengths to be only as incompetent as she CAN be while still remaining on the case, thereby doing exactly what Trump wants - drag it out.
Cannons job was to defer the case until after next election. She was competent. Of course she sold her soul in the process.
She may or may not be incompetent, but this case tells me she's being coached by Trump's defense team (thru back channels of course). She's walking the tight line between helping Trump and being outright removed from the case.
Cannon is doing this on purpose, it's obvious. She is compromised.

Why shouldn't Cannon be charged with perversion of justice or obstruction? Her actions were originally seen as just "bias" or "incompetence," but it has become painfully obvious that she's acting on Trump's behalf, not to see that justice is done. She shouldn't just be kicked off the case, which is hugely serious and must be handled competently soon, but she should be charged as well. She's a joke and she's proving that entire justice system is a joke, too.

I am a retired lawyer in Australia. I can honestly say that most of the shenanigans/motions by trump in each of trump's trials - civil and criminal - would not be taken seriously by any judge here. They would be dismissed immediately with no hearing and no delay. Even SCOTUS is really considering whether there is presidential immunity. This is astoundingly obtuse. Two civil cases in the highest court in two states in the US have stated trump is an insurrectionist. The Jan 6 enquiry sheeted responsibility to trump for that assault on democracy. The US has the federal Insurrection and Rebellion Act - yet no one has charged him. Judge Merchan warned trump over and over again about breaches of the gag order but trump ignored that and breached the order ten times. Merchan did nothing. We don't bother any more looking at any US cases as persuasive precedent. Trump is an obvious disgrace yet millions of Americans still support him - including many, many lawyers and judges. He might be re-elected. In Australia most people I know don't think much of the US any more.

I would be ashamed to work my whole career being a part of this justice system. It's not just Cannon-- no judge has stood up to Trump and treated him like the defendant he is.
Pretty much every other judge has done their duty against trump - he's lost all the cases that actually got to trial. It's just that he has endless funding and his team makes use of every delay or appeal tactic possible. It's only Cannon - she has all but formally joined his defense team.

Here’s what gets me. Being retired Navy, if it were me that had been caught with the amount of documents or even one of the documents he had in his possession, I wouldn’t see daylight outside of a prison for years. How is it that, him, the former “commander and chief” is able be held at a different standard than those that he oversaw? He needs to be held accountable.

Here is the problem. Regardless of what she is saying in court, if she does not issue a final decision, it doesn't count and she can always change her mind later. This is what she's doing on everything. She is indicating something that she CLEARLY does not actually want to find as her legal decision on the motion. This allows the continued stalling of the case and also removes any ability for Smith to appeal. If she really doesn't find Trump's arguments to be convincing, then why the hell can't she actually put that into an actual ruling.
She is NOT going to rule on this, I guarantee that, based on her consistent failure to actual issue any ruling.
hmm and the DOJ as well as the 11th circuit sit back and WATCH rather than DOING anything about it - not unlike when Merrick Garland sat on the bench watching the J6 committee question the witnesses and participants of the attempted violent coup. They're ALL afraid to DO their damn jobs!

@@mjcbnguyen Unfortunately, there is not. Unless she issues an actual ruling there is no legal grounds for prosecutors to appeal. I think there has only been one single case where an appellate court sua sponte (without either side appealing, just on it's own) stepped in and removed a judge from a case based on the judge's bias and conflict of interest. And if I remember correctly that became a huge mess. So, it's highly unlikely the appellate court will just step in themselves and remove her from the case. Unfortunately, judges have a huge amount of leeway to run their cases on their schedule. She is taking full advantage of the fact that nobody can do anything, as long as she continues to fail to issue any rulings, there is nothing to take to the appellate court.

If she were to let him have everything she'd be providing grounds for her removal and replacement by someone who wouldn't be so sympathetic to him. By dragging things out it becomes incredibly hard to appeal and ultimately gives him what he really wants which is to delay until he can order the case to be stopped.

Because being slow in handling a case isn't something that can be appealed. What would they tell the appeals court? Please your honors she's too slow get rid of her. Actually it's that the prosecution has the facts & the law on their side that seems to cause Cannon's little tirades. She seems to get upset when her plans get deflated and she realizes they have her in the corner of ruling the right way or get appealed & removed. Hence the continued delay because it's the best she can do for Trump right now in her view.
I believe at this point all Cannon can do is delay and obstruct, Jack Smith is a masterful lawyer, coming from the Hague he's seen alot judicially. He has her at check at every turn, she can't afford one mistep on an official ruling and she knows this, i think that's also why we see more hostility towards the DOJ and Jack Smith increasing. She's in way over her head at this point and is beginning to really feel the heat having to apease Trump at every turn while trying to stay on this case. She's not smart enough or experienced enough to maintain this, its only a matter of time before she's removed. We all know it's already way past due.
The Hague is not United a stated law however. Apples to oranges.

Didn’t the special master go through all of those boxes in order to determine what was the government and what was Trump’s? Wouldn’t that disarray the contents of each box? Special master was appointed at Trump’s request.
Shouldn’t the important point be that he said he had given back ALL the boxes of government documents? Yet here there are a slew of boxes still in his possession. Where were all those boxes of documents till now?
& what about the boxes of documents that were put on the plane & moved elsewhere? Shouldn’t the pilot be questioned about where he flew them? That was a crime, his moving to hide those documents. So even if the pilot & others signed a (dnr) or whatever it’s called, in commission of a crime it’s waived, isn’t it?
Finally, she does something right. Is she going to finally set a date for the trial?
