  • Hurricane Helene passed without causing any damage to us. Thankfully, Nantahala Cabins did not experience any flooding or damage.
Although our phone and cell service are down, we are still connected through WiFi for WiFi calling texting, and emails, since the internet is operational. We also did not lose power.
Some areas in Bryson City experienced flooding, including Darnell Farms, Ela, and Deep Creek. However, the Nantahala River near the Nantahala Outdoor Center did not flood. Both directions of HWY 74-east from Nantahala Cabins to Bryson City and west past the Nantahala Outdoor Center to Paddle Inn and Murphy, NC - are open.
Additionally, HWY 441 N to HWY 74 W from Franklin to us is open, and guests successfully traveled that route last night.
We are keeping those affected in Bryson City, Ela, Asheville, and other parts of Western North Carolina in our thoughts and prayers, and we hope services are restored quickly so our communities can begin to heal.
If you're near Nantahala Cabins and need internet access, feel free to stop by. We can connect you to our WiFi for WiFi calling, texting, email, Facebook, and more. Please spread the word!

Glad to hear all is well, hopefully NOC was spared, unfortunately Asheville was not. Was just watching Dane Jackson's IG reels and the devastation is unbelievable, he said the Green River Narrows have totally and completely changed from top to bottom!
