That event came in clutch for me at times whenever I'm not collecting that many power ups or when a kirby had struck me down earlier in the game. Definitely up there for me on favorite events.
Agreed, can’t argue about something that gives free power ups but doesn’t hurt you. Meteors is ok with me too but I’d be lying if I said I never died from hen because I either was on a slow machine or got just a bit too close in the hopes to get first cracks at he power ups
Same deal for me, there are way too many moments where I and my dumb ass go off a ramp while riding a machine with a lot of gliding power (I always prioritize finding the glider star) and I’m just up in the sky flying blind.
The UFO event is my favorite as well but believe it or not it is possible to get a All patch from a blue box but the chance of getting it is 0.000001% so wish for the best of luck that you get it because it's worth it. And no I'm not capping either.
Epic game!! If you played City Trial as religiously as I did, you had an awesome childhood!! ...Oh my god, the giant UFO, Dyna Blade, the thick fog and the meteor shower used to scare the shit out of me when I was little. Good times!! XD
Flying Meteor still makes me hit end game *immediately*. Dyna Blade never scared me, actually more amazed me and it took me a while to realize that I should've gone for the head but even when I found out that Dyna blade is kind of like a boss, I still never bothered to strike it anywhere. I only recently learned that the dense fog sky without the fog effect is a white, texturless void that can only really be seen if the game is broken somehow. With the fog effect on Dense Fog for me was never too scary but more unnerving and a little more disturbing.. I was scared of the UFO event at first but at one point I learned that there are power-ups on top of it (not from this video).

This game has always had ties to the anime. I remember going crazy as a kid when I watched one of the special episodes with some of the air rides from the game in it.
My favorite one was the giant pillar. When me, my brother and my two cousins used to play, whenever that warning came up I made sure NOBODY got to that pillar first but me! Good times...good times..

When I get those events that affect the boxes in the city, I always use some of that time to quickly check around and see if one of the pieces were out there.
Every time. If the normal boxes don't have Top Speeds in them, I'll scathe every nook and cranny that ik is a possible location of a LAR piece. Water Wheel Hill Under Heat Top Dilapidated Houses Area (pink pathways) Electric Lounge Under the Forest The Town Hall And the shores.
I've been trying to confirm this. I've seen gameplay of the smaller meteor shower but in my game disc it only has the giant ones. I believe the Player's Choice version of Kirby Air Ride is the one that has both versions.
here's a little tip: when the fake power up items event or the item bouncing event comes, be sure to look around the city for All patches. they sometimes pop up in random places

I think what would had made the dense fog a bit more interesting would be that another event (it would be unknown too) would occur during the fog. That could add more of a chaotic factor to it.
Whenever I saw the sky turn red as a kid, I'd freak out. I was am avid rail user so there were times where I got stuck on the rails during a station fire. And during meteors, I never got any progress done, I was just running around like a chicken with its head cut off
Ahh I always loved the UFO event most; I think at one point I found 5 All badges on it, 1 in the center and 1 on every direction of the edge. My other 4 favorites are Air Ride Formation (something about it is just really epic and I love finding the Jet Star in it), the Castle Chamber opening, the Meteors, and the Pillar. Really anything that affected items spawning in a good way lol

Imagine if Trial City was a Delfino/Skyloft-like stage in Smash where a platform takes fighters to multiple parts of that three-dimensional location? And maybe bouncing-items could be a potential ported event into that Smash stage too. That wasn't my idea though, I got it from one of my friends online. I ain't gonna complain that this imaginary stage doesn't exist, since it's not like Nintendo can do absolutely everything they wish to put into Smash, and not that many people have suggested upon Sakurai to make that astage, so... it's not a complaint, more of a fanon idea. Whatever the case, I think it would be pretty sick if Trial City was to be added as a Stage in Smash that functions similarly to Delfino Plaza, Skyloft, Wuhu Island, and other traveling stages like those, i'm just sayin'... :)
That is why I love that event too. Max speed, offense, defense, or glide were great on some of those challenges. Still hate fighting king dedede to this day without the added power ups.
That's the struggle you had to deal with when fighting against dedede. I usually like to restart games to get everything all over again, but I don't want to get a headache on trying to beat him in a minute or however long it was.
Did anyone else besides me find out that the "Bulk-star" was better at flying than the "Dragoon"? I’m serious! I still have this game and if you build up your "Glide" to at least 10, go off a jump of some sort, and incrementally push the ‘A’-button, you can stay afloat for quite some time. It’s like double jumping but 50X’s better! I always knew there was something special about that ‘Star’ nobody picked. ⭐️
Air Ride 2 needs Kid Icarus Uprising weapons, multiple (connected?) cities for City Trial, and an endless mode that still has events and a countdown to minigames :D
Everytime the meteor shower event would come, my sister would automatically quit the game, which made me pissed because it took away from my playtime and I wanted a challenge. I was 7 and she was 10 at the time.
In Kirby Air Ride, the City Trial was an old battle royale. Due to this, it would be awesome to have Nintendo, HAL Laboratory, and Arika make a Kirby Air Ride-themed skin for Tetris 99, with all the songs from the City Trial while the event notification sound (iOS Factory Alarm sound effect) would be used as the 50-player notification sound and the 10-player notification sound. 99 players would use the original version of the City Trial music (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has a remix, but it does not have the original version of the City Trial music). 50 players would use the sped-up City Trial theme that plays when 30 seconds are left. 10 players would use the Flying Meteor theme (3:00) to really bring the anxiety in the puzzle royale. It would be awesome if Tetris 99 gets a Kirby Air Ride-themed skin!
As of late I've been referring to fake powerups as Impostors Like.... sus impostors. Ah what the hell my favorites are UFO, Dyna blade, huge pillar.... and I too am no fan of Bouncy Items or Dense fog. It actually was the opposite for me when it came to grabbing the air ride. I thought you can only get it by jumping onto the air ride as it passes you by. Always disliked this event because of this since most of the time I can't reach them.
KCBlues94 yeah, that event is annoying, hitting them out of the air might be practical more often but it’s still very hard, half the time you just barely miss them and on some machine me good luck getting enough glide to ever reach them
Another thing to keep in mind is that you would had most likely found an air ride you liked from a random spawn. I think that kind of added to why I generally don't care for this event.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you would had most likely found an air ride you liked from a random spawn. I think that kind of added to why I generally don't care for this event.
KCBlues94 that and the fact that if your machine was good enough to reach them, half the time you’d just say screw it and keep it and just go about collecting power ups instead of wasting time trying to get one of the formation’s machines
true. I forgot about the power ups you would have collected prior to the event.
The meteor theme would always give me massive anxiety attacks
