I love this scene, and I LOVE the clarity of this video. I have it as well, and I don't think mine matches to how clear yours is. But, damn, Uwe and Pia always have fantastic chemistry when doing this scene. It's hot and it's FIERCE.
As much as I love Pia and Uwe, I have to say that this scene is missing the passion and fire. Sissi is ***** as hell at Franz Josef because he gave her a VD (and the only way he could have done that is by cheating on her) but also relieved because this gives her the chance to seek freedom. Tod on the other hand wants to rub salt in Sissi's wound about her husband in order to get her to love him. Here, it's way too subdued, maybe they had a off night or something but it's lacking.
It's called "Die Letzte Chanze", or The Last Chance. It sounds like Die Letzte Tanz because he is imploring her to seize the moment and run away from her problems. There is a line where he says, "kommt tanz mit mich, die letzte tanz", so in a sense, he does sing about it. In the end, it's not really a reprise of the first song.
OK...hmmm...compared to Maya Haakvort/Mate Kamaras pairing I am missing a LOT of passion. Is there a later production with Uwe/Pia? I somehow remember them MUCH better than here. I dislike that 'Death' seems to be too stoic and 'disengaged'...he was meant to have yearned to take Elisabeth. In my opinion, this isn't coming across at all here.
Everyone plays the role of Der Tod with his natural hair (i think this is the good tradition). This is Uwe's usual hairstyle for that time. He didn't cut his hair for the role (and it wasn't required like i think). Then Martin Market played this role who was inspired by Uwe's work and clearly had similarities in common features with him. I can't be sure, but it seems to me that Martin even grew his hair specially for this role.
coole nummer

Uwe looks a little androgenus here..make remeber the takarazuka's productions
but... i prefer 2006/2005 Máte and Maya Hakvoort
