- We cruised the Baltic in August 2019 to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. One port of call on the cruise was St. Petersburg Russia where we spent two days on a guided tour. The tour included spending sometime in The Metro which is one of the deepest in the world. St. Petersburg is a series of islands so the metro had to be run deep enough to go under the surrounding waterways. We traveled on the longest escalator we’ve ever seen.
Original designers incorporated art into the stations and platforms. We were told the idea was to create an art museum for the masses. As you can see in the video, everything appeared to be dated but was clean and well maintained.

The Metro is massive, and very impression. You captured some great video of it. Did anyone care that you were filming? I can't wait to see more of your footage from this cruise.
Wearing a radio receiver, an earphone, and a number sticker kind of let everyone know we were tourists. No one seemed to mind us capturing images but I made sure I wasn't pointing the camera in anyones face while on the subway. Tried not to be intrusive. I wanted to keep the camera rolling to capture the sound hence the reason for the "selfie" I took on the train. I used the GoPro Hero 7 Black on a little stub handle so the rig wasn't big and noticeable. My goto camera for most of my captures was the iPhone X. ALL of the subway images were captured with the GoPro because I knew the stabilization would be handy as I walked around with the camera handheld.
I'm putting the finishing touches on my 2nd video which covers St. Petersburg's "Cathedrals-Palaces-Museums". AMAZING what the Tzars built!!!
@@joepasquale4877 Good story, and you can do great things with just your iPhone X and Hero 7. I just ordered the new iPhone 11 yesterday. This one has three camera's on the back and promises the best mobil video camera experience, we will see about that.

They are beautiful, unique . Nothing compared with the Metro in USA. Here, the Metro is ugly and some places very dark and cold.

Архитектурно и по масштабам московское конечно лучше. Но каждый приезд в Москву удивляюсь почему станции с самой красивой архитектурой (первых очередей) такие пц грязные не ухоженные и откровенно темные. Не следите вы, ребята, за тем богатством что вам досталось.
