    This was great! I'd love to see the follow up showing the work in Lightroom.

    Agree with Mark Harris - you have a very engaging personality and there's a sort of warmth that comes across in your videos. I watch a lot of photography videos and although they're good in other ways, I don't get that from any of them. I always learn something from you, and as a bonus, I also come away feeling happier than I was before. Thank you.

    Hi Mark , great video, and you mentioned the camera settings you were using ,so many how to videos don't talk about that sort of thing

    Nothing better than roaming around with your camera, seeing what you can find.

    Nicely-done. Vibrant colours. Love the copper tones of those leaves at the end.

    Wonderful images! Also a great example of working the scene and making rather than just taking an image.

    Hi Marc, I have been watching and enjoying your tutorials. Enjoyed every bit of this video. The most fascinating thing for me in this video was your passionate approach towards the subject. Like a child you did and like another child I enjoyed.... :-)

    Hey Mark, enjoyed the video. Just did a bit of the same myself, didn't come out as nice, but still working on it. Can I ask what brand and model of tripod you used?

    • @theschoolofphotography
      @theschoolofphotography  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bill Messer thanks Bill. The tripod I used was the manfrotto 190 and a manfrotto pan and tilt head (sorry not sure of the model number). Hope that helps, don't forget to subscribe to the channel for more :)

    Great video, really enjoyed it with your obvious enthusiasm shinning through. Far too many TH-camrs make photography look like a chore when it should always be fun having a camera in your hand, you find the best photographers, like yourself, always enjoy what they are doing the most. But, that doesn’t mean everyone who blatantly enjoys their photography are the best photographers, I’m a prime example of that. Like most photographers do, I love autumn and I also like the smaller intimate landscape/nature shots and yours were beautiful. I’m going to shoot a 120 roll of Portra 100 on Sunday, as it’s a portrait film with the pink tones it’s great for the autumnal colours. I don’t shoot e6 (Velvia) because of the developing chemical's impact on my respiratory problems. Of course Il have the 5DIII, possibly with the 2.8 macro lens with me for those bracketed shots and maybe some true macro. On the strength of this video I’ve subscribed.

    A great illustration of why cameras without a flip screen are a pain in the you -know-where.

    And a great video.

    I'm wondering why you wouldn't just use a 100 iso for the best dynamic range and low noise. Are you using a 400 iso to keep your shutter speed higher?

    • @theschoolofphotography
      @theschoolofphotography  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Eli Epstein yes Eli, you have to remember trees move so you still need a fairly fast shutter speed. Thanks

    you see here the importance of flip screen.

    Yes nice. I belong to the group who have little value for hopelessly out of focus portions in the body of the photo . Often It is unnatural and grating. I don't mind the edges of the photo out of focus, as achieved say by vaseline spread on the cover lens. I do like the bracketing at 1 stop plus allowing a balance up in photoshop of forest and the sky.

    Lightroom, ?.... Do it all in camera. that's the way to go ….

    • @hotjazzbaby
      @hotjazzbaby 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You mean you Just let the software in the camera automatically make the jpg.
      Instead of using software on the pc and taking artistic control over the output jpg the way you want it.

    • @karlhorton185
      @karlhorton185 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      "You mean you Just let the software in the camera automatically" No I dont What I shoot in camera is what I want and it is always V.good. Just like I use to on film. You should try it, it will make you a better photography....The key word is learn what your camera can do and enjoy taking photos instead of spending hours on your laptop....The end.....
