Archer is an FXX original animated, half-hour comedy. The new season revolves around the international spy turned hardboiled private eye Sterling Archer and his quest to find his partner’s killer in 1947 Los Angeles.
The case proves to be more difficult than expected after Archer quickly gets mixed up in a deadly game of tug of war between Los Angeles' most powerful crime bosses. Every clue leads Archer further away from his goal and deeper into a mystery involving kidnapping, prostitution and drug addiction.
The series features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin as the incredibly vain private investigator, “Sterling Archer;” Jessica Walter as the veteran crime boss and nightclub owner, “Mother;” Aisha Tyler as the sexy lounge singer and Archer's crush, “Lana Kane;” Judy Greer as the clueless heiress to a vast publishing fortune, “Charlotte Vandertunt;” Chris Parnell as a crooked detective hell-bent on seeing Archer dead or in jail, “Detective Lieutenant Figgis;” Amber Nash as Figgis' partner and occasional muscle, “Detective Sergeant Poovey;” Adam Reed as the saucy band leader, “Ray Gillette;” and Lucky Yates as the club's bartender/heroin dealer/Nazi scientist, “Krieger.”

Archer | Season 7 Ep. 2: The Best Voicemail Ever Scene | FX
/ fxnetworks - บันเทิง
Skipped the best line where it goes to cricket noises, and Mallory says "He's trained crickets".
and Cheryl slapping Pam when one would think she hit Malory and Pam punching back
I think that's on a later scene though
@@batalorian7997 It is.
This is a genius scene because they probably saved so much on animation.
They spent all their animation budget on the chair spinning.
It’s like Psycho. Everything in post. Set it up properly, execute it flawlessly and what’s missing is filled in by the audience... To a slightly different effect...
Lmfao how do you guys think animation works?
Still funny. That's the important part.
@@zimvader25 More active animation sequences require more man hours to complete and therefore are more expensive to create.
I love that he killed 6 guys by himself and somehow lost his clothes along the way.
actually I think he took his clothes off because in the episode he made a joke about it being "after labor day" meaning it probably turned midnight during the fight
looks like 8 guys which, even for him, holy shit is it impressive
Chris Marshall So he not only took on 7 guys by himself, screaming the whole time out of the strain it put on his body... But he was watching the clock to make sure he didn't break a key rule of fashion.
This is the perfect comedy scene.
I counted seven.
I honestly can't remember when I stopped noticing Archer getting naked and came to expect it.
One of the things I love about Archer, unlike others who have egos like archer. He can back it up, hes not just all talk.
Well against lesser trained foes yes but remember when he had to fight that one yakuza member and got his butt handed to him
@@michaelterrell5061 hey no matter how badass you are theres always a bigger badass
Jimmy Conway True
@@michaelterrell5061 I don't know about all of that. Those were two guys performing an extremely well coordinated combo off of the first strike. Like... the purpose of that style is to not give your opponent a chance to recover whatsoever once you have the advantage. On even ground I wouldn't say it's a guarantee. Homeboy got clocked and then super combo'd on lol. I'm just saying in a different scenario he could probably at least fight those guys.
@@a_monayyyyyy I can agree with that.
Anyone else imagining the whole fight scene, trying to piece together the action? Truly an epic fight, made even more awesome by how the whole thing is inferred.
And how he got naked in the first place 😆
must've been gruesome, noticed the bloody wood chipper?
Johnjames Bloom how did the one guy get shot by arrows
I was LOL
Because someone either had a bow or a crossbow.
I love how Cheryls gets turned on when Archer kills the guy who was begging.
I noticed that too. Really subtle but her smile at the death rattle was there. 😨
I never noticed that before. Perfect little character detail.
This is why I like watching these episodes several times. You almost always miss something. Like I did this this.
Turn on subtitles, its specifically because Archer is choking him to death. Her eyes open when she hears the guys windpipe collapse which is such a fantastic detail.
Easily one of the most elaborate voice mails, and the irony is, he wasn't making this on purpose.
I know right
If I remember correctly this is the one time where it wasnt a voicemail prank, he actually is doing this live on the phone
@@MrLTiger I remember, like archer said, it would have been THE MOST elaborate voice-mail message.
“Sorry Upham.” I don’t care how dark it is, that Saving Private Ryan reference made me burst out laughing!
Cristian Tafolla where though?
@@silvertemplar8061 1:23-1:27
The only way to top this is a whole episode of voicemail, don't know how the narrative would play out, but it's their only option.
Alex Hill its do able but challenging
There was a SEALAB 2021 ep that was all dialogue while the pov remained on the outside of the underwater complex, so what you request is nor impossible.
Could just have Mallory spend a day going through and deleting but secretly keeping voicemails of her son out of a unrequited love for him that for obvious reasons she keeps to herself.
Maybe an episode where it's just a fax machine worth of his voicemails being repeated all over the building houses cars and everyone else's phones with no characters. All over the places and it shows an inferred scene like empty bottles of alcohol, broken glass, bullet holes, dead enemies, etc. Each voicemail saying what happened but as a joke each time being another elaborate voicemail. Maybe stuff we'd never expect like the intercoms and smart appliances like toasters and microwaves.
Then it shows at the end that they're all stuck somewhere at the bottom of a canyon or an abyss or something and 1 last voicemail before the episode ends where they all try calling 911 but its just redirected to his phone and they all gang up on him. Then the real 911 calls and they realize it's Archer "Hello....is anyone there? Wait is this Archer? Oh haha very funny sir eat a d**k" *hangs up* as the background noises of everyone just beating up Archer slowly fades out. No exit song neither.
Throw back pts if the 911 operator id the sassy black one that Ray calls back in the trapped elevator episode.
That fat idiots, yawn kind of ruins bit of it but the rest funny
You know , sometimes I forget Archers not just some funny idiot . He's badass sometimes .
Even if its all off-screen, the fact that Archer actually took plenty of hits from the fight made his victory even more badass
This is actually one of my favorite joke in the entire show, or possibly just TV in general. 7 seasons of build up for this. On top of that... An "imagined" fight scene with super detailed sound design actually works so well even on its own.
It is amazing but I still think the pilot was the most genius one. Face!
I love it when shows can keep a running gag fresh like this and then does a really good job of subverting expectations.
damn archer is a badass
It would have been an epic fight to see!
yeah but a bitch to animate
+Matthew Arenson I like having to imagine it.
AJ Castillo
true that.
+Stephan Vaudiau Sometimes, the imagination of the audience is more powerful than anything an animator or movie maker could ever hope to achieve.
+Matthew Arenson I would pay to see that fight
At least Archer knows how to fight.
Nahhh. Im saying I know how to fight. Archer is a supernatural trained killer
Isn’t the worlds deadliest secret agent for nothing.
@@matthewriley7826* He isn’t
CANT. STOP. WATCHING. FUNNIEST. SHIT. EVER.
Cheryl's reaction is the best lol
It's one of those boy who cried wolf things. He was always making prank voicemails to mess with people, but when he actually answered the phone and got into an ultra violence fight they thought he was pranking them again and didn't fall for it.
Msohhellsyeah you know, this joke has escaped the grasp of my feeble mind for SO FLIPPING LONG that I was beginning to think that I would never understand it. But thanks to an internet full of geniuses, like you, I can now have a joke that has gone on since season one, explained....thank you.👏🏾(meme 👏🏾review)
@@whovishernintakuellis3113 brilliant.
@@whovishernintakuellis3113 This reply was better than the clip itself
that is exactly the joke
Funny thing is that they realize the fighting sounds are real and they are all like ahhhhhhh!
Mallory's reaction was the best.
I just love how the jokes from past seasons still carryout through the next seasons.
"It would've been, it would've been."
This is SO MUCH BETTER than "The Boy who cried Wolf"!
(Gasp) He trained crickets?!?!?
I had to hit pause after that line I was laughing so hard
The animation budget has really improved a ton since the first season. Everything is so smooth and fluid. I love the improvements.
They probably also saved money having the fight done via phone audio 😆.
Especially them kissing scenes
I LOVE how far the animation has come
I love the moment they realise it's not a voice mail they instantly go into action.
I like that Archer loudly answered a phone call while he was supposed to be hiding in a trunk surrounded by guys.
I love when he talking to Lana afterwards, “they tried to woodchipper me!” 😂
Mother, they tired to put me through a Wood Chipper
1:06- 1:13 Cyril casually cleaning his glasses while Archer pushes a dude into a wood chipper.
I love how we can all trust Archer's ability to kick asses. Plural.
I'm still crying at this. This is superb.
And now, Archer presents episode 1 of "The Death of Mary, Queen of Scots."
And now episode 2 of "The Death of Mary, Queen of Scots."
I cried from laughing lmao
I love this part in season 7 episode 2 when they thought it was a voicemail. That's the best thing about Archer, his elaborate voicemail jokes.
This is by far Archers bloodiest and most gruesome fight scene and we only get to hear it in audio form haha did he chainsaw a guy in half??
No fair! I wanted to see it!
i do that in class sometime when i'm bored so i just swirl my chair around like Cherl.
0:31 “Ahhh, he’s biting me!!!”
0.49 "see you in hell"
Cheryl just swiveling around on her chair
She should get a room lol
I do that at home as well
My coworker just accidentally butt dialed and left me a 6 straight minute voicemail. This clip came to mind.
it would've been an epic fight.. but to animate that would have been a bitch
I like Shapiro's comment in the next scene, "Goddamn, dude!"
I wanna say that was officially a 7 armed bikers vs one unarmed naked man
_"..... I'm sure theres a lesson in there somewhere....."_
noooooope
I hate that they didn't show the fight, it certainly sounded awesome, and the aftermath...the whole place looked like a WWIII battlefield!
toradrow777 More like the Vietnam battlefield from FMJ
Jesus Christ, I can never imagine what archer has to endure
I can
The only time where Archer's voicemail prank backfires.
the animation of cheryl spinning in her chair is rly cool tbf
I've only just started watching Archer so when I first saw this scene on TV I didn't know if they thought it was all a recording or if they were purposely trying to blow his cover. LOL
Cheryl spinning around in the chair cracks me up
Dear lord that was so violent
One of the funniest scenes in the entire series. Archer is a fucking tank!
Easily my favorite scene from archer.
Classic case of the boy who cried wolf.
The one person who disliked this has no soul.
They're all just so calm about it...
Archer really is a badass
You know after countless times watching this scene I can't even piece together what happens still.
I still laugh out loud every time!
I love this season
Yes, its the latest season. But it has the best shit, I love it too.
0:46 -1:05 get me everytime 😂😂😂
That voice mail or would of been sounds like my Monday morning every week
It would've been, it would've been
Oh my god, he trained crickets
Yes, this was my favorite one 😂
My god, what the fuck happened? I remember the saving private Ryan shhhhhh.... thing, that was pretty good reference, I definitely enjoyed that bit.
The animation for the entire fight was redirected to Cheryl's chair spinning
I did the same thing in real life
Easily the single greatest scene in Archer history. Easily.
Does anyone else start laughing halfway through?
BEST! VOICEMAIL! EVER!
1:18 inspired by Saving Private Ryan?
This is the best case of a build up joke i've ever seen in a TV show
I like how i can read the comments and still get the fullness of this video regardless
Don’t worry this show will have many more epic fights.
Hope its on DVD Extras, I'd definitely like a dekko
The ringtone giving him away lmao
They should've put the whole fight in or on a deleted scene or in his moment of rampage scenes you know?
Awesome scene
Archer is the king of running jokes. This joke only works after seasons worth of set up
"I'll see you in Hell!"
that part was the funniest
Does he say, pull my finger, at some point? Lol
Nice Saving Private Ryan reference towards the end!
Funny and dark
How many times can I watch this before I would be considered to have a problem?
Docktor Jim 500
I thinknk this is scene is so brilliant because its exactly how we people would react after all those other voice mail pranks that no one can believe lol
I can’t stop laughing at this scene
There is a lot of subtle movement by all carachters.
There's a metaphor about the Boy Who Cried Wolf here.
I wish we would’ve got to see the fighting
Me too!
"As distasteful as it may be, you have to at least try him"
~Chery and/or Carol Tunt
I love Cheryl's random moments of sanity & clarity.
Also... Was watching this on either Hulu or Google TV the other day, and the full subtitles of what each and every person is saying are amazing.
*Edit:* The TH-cam subtitles are pretty on point actually. You never really know what you're gonna get with YT subtitles though.
Why did Archer get naked to fight? Does he fight better naked ? lol
interesting strategy.
Taking boy who cried wolf to the next level
Wait for it
Sorry umpa
We better be at a bar!
Loved the what I tell you
this was real ! lol
0:06 uh oh
*carnage ensues offscreen*
@1:22 lol
I will give the show credit when the characters are in battle they show the battle damage afterwards. A lot of shows the characters walk away from a fight with barely a hair out of place.
Pretty sure this wasn't aired on TV lol, at least I don't remember it and I've seen all of that season.
