Well what's interesting is that we do see him in endgame as a old man. I'm under the assumption he went back to the timeline with Peggy and lived his life out and is/has died there. Tho Peggy likely died of old age before captain america did. There's little reason to assume he dies immediately after seeing the older Cap in endgame, but of course not much reason to explore what he's doing as an old man I guess.
