Eddie Van Halen, the lead guitarist and brother of drummer Alex Van Halen, is indisputably considered one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time. As others have suggested, the "Eruption" video is the BEST guitar solo period. Eddie passed away a couple of years ago but shall live on forever through his extraordinary talent.

Intro is played on a synth (played by the guitarist Eddie Van Halen) but you just dont see it at the start of the video
The next 2 songs you HAVE to react to with D.L.R. are Panama, and Hot For Teacher. He left the group not too long after this and he was replaced with Sammy Hagar and although he is ok he NEVER could compete with David.
Oh man. You have just started down a long road with Van Halen. Just go to the first album, first track and listen to every album. The first album is the greatest first album ever made, in my opinon. Every song is a hit, all bangers. There is not one bad song on the entire album! You will soon realize by listen to them, that Eddie Van Halen the Guitars is the greatest guitarest to have ever lived! He changed the way the guitar was played. The genius of Eddie was that he made the guitar sound nothing like a guitar could sound. His rythm and timing was unmatched, it always seemed that he knew what ever song needed to take it to the next level. There will never be another Eddie Van Halen! RIP EDDIE, we miss you. But you will never be forgotten.
