Thumbs up because while I had found the other tips before, I HADN'T heard advice about controlling the temperature of my containers! I had been pouring directly into clear-glass jars at room temperature. I'm sure that the heated container also helps the wax cool down more evenly, rather than cold wax on the edges and hot wax in the centers. Loving this tip and thanks for your help!
I seen with GB 444 wax at 185 degrees when I poured the wax in, it was like having a bowl of water, and pouring oil in it. The oil just sat on top of the wax. I heated the wax up to 190 degrees, and the fragrance oil binded automatically with the wax I stirred for 2mins. The best candle I’ve made by far.
New sub here. Thank you for this video this has to be the best video I've seen on how to make candles. I now know how to do them the right way. May God bless you and your business.
Thank you so much for teaching me how to make candles as a hobby! I made my first soy wax 464 candle, however after a few burns, it looks bumpy. Is there a way of fixing it? Thank you in advance!
Hi Jen, thank you for this video..🙂 Like u mentioned about heating the container, what should be done in case of glass and ceremic containers.. can they be heated too.
Thank you sooo much for this video!! I look forward to viewing your other videos -:) Does anyone know what temperature I should pour the 454-45 soy coconut wax into the jars after the fragrance oil is mixed in? Also - I am having a really really hard time figuring out how to measure the fragrance oil. Do you have any simple tips for me?
Everything I've read says to start with 6% (by weight though, not volume), then if you find you need more, you can go up to 8, 10, max 12%, but 10-12% seems insanely high to me, but I'm new to this too, so I guess we'll see.
You advised making sure the container is warm before pouring wax, what if I am using the glass jar how would I warm it up? And thank you for this content I truly appreciate this
Hi Jen. Thank you for this video. I was pouring at 160 so I will definitely try pouring cooler. Do you make wax melts also? If so, what temp do you pour those? I use GW 494 for my melts. And a totally unrelated side note. I love your countertops! I have butcher block in my kitchen but haven’t sealed or stained them yet because I can’t decide on a color. Do you know what color yours are and what they were sealed with. Sorry for the random question. 😊
Hi! I do make wax melts, I was pouring at 125 but I felt it was waiting too long so I have been experimenting with different temps. I’ll be doing a video on it soon! Thank you so much! I love answering these questions! I used a pre treatment first and then used minwax dark walnut and then I put a triple thick poly on top
have a question for you and I hope to hear from you if you have time! I’m currently making beef Tallow Candles but I’m having a difficult time finding a cost effective way to add scent. I have used essential oil‘s but I have to use over 60 drops to even get a smell. I don’t want to use fragrance oils because they’re not natural. Would you recommend that I mix the tallow with another fat like coconut oil? Do you think these two would mix well or is there another one you would recommend?
Hi! Do you happen to have a tutorial on FO % usage on how to read % and how to covert it to grams? I’m new to skin care such as body butters, lotions, body oils and candles. Thank you!
I’ve recently started making reiki infused candles with essential oils. How do I reduce the bubbles on the side of the jars? I heat my jars ahead of time and pour at the same temperature.
Hello good afternoon, I am new to candle making. I've only been doing it about a month. I am struggling most with my candles cracking, I work with silicone molds. I don't know how to warm silicone molds, do you have any ideas or suggestions that could help in this area? I have an Etsy shop and I sell candles, I have a few good big sellers. problem is I have to go in later on with my heat gun to fix the cracks because I have no way to warm my silicone molds. I don't know how to, any suggestions would be super helpful thank you so much for this video have a wonderful day
How do you stop cracks I made a candle yesterday and I noticed a big crack and then the candle fell out of my bowl? Please help I have a bunch of orders coming up and can’t have angry customers Thank you
I got the Chandler and Me wax melter.. The temp for fragrance is around 155 degrees F. and the Pouring Temp is at around 165 Degrees F. So far, in little jars, My candles have cracked, caved in and made holes. Weird. This never used to happen when I used a double boiler on the stove, not even checking the temp.
@@ClaytonCandleCo lol, all candles no matter what are I held they all candles produce carbon paraffin bees wax soy don’t matter scented no fragrances color no color don’t matter candles have zero health benefits

Thankyou for the info. It helped alot.
So so so helpful!! I use GB 464 as well and I heat my wax to 185, pour FO at 170 and was pouring at 165. I’m going to try your method tonight!

What can we do if we have like a glossy top candle? And it also happens on the post burn candles.

What is correct temperature point to pour soy wax into bubble candle silicon mold? Plz help me out
Please were you able to get a solution, my bubble jar just messed up my soy wax candle 😢😭
I really like your tutorial. How do I add botanicals to the soy candles?
What do you use to measure the temperature.?
I’ve recently started making reiki infused candles with essential oils. How do I reduce the bubbles on the side of the jars? I heat my jars ahead of time and pour at the same temperature.
What % did you use for your 464? How many ounces of 464 did you melt?
Great video. Thank you for sharing.
if you accidentally heat it higher can you wait till it comes back to 185 ? if you want to add more color can you remelt your candle and add more?
And if it cools to much can’t you just re heat?
Thank you for this video! Super helpful🤍
How would you recommend to warm a glass jar before adding the hot wax?
hairdryer or heat gun!!

No need to cool wax temp before adding FO?
When I pour at 135°, I get the whole side wet spot like a half of the candle. When I pour at 115°-120°, I get frosting
How do you determine what temperature to add your fragrance oil?
Fragrance oil is added at 185°F
When you add the fragrance oil that hot you're just burning it off... I had my fragrance oil at 120f
@@marinacamarena5742 if you don’t add your FO until 120*, what temp do you pour at? Doesn’t seem like enough time for your wax and FO to bond.
What Wicks do you use?
How much wax and fragrance oil did you use in this video.
2 pounds and 3.2 oz for the whole batch, I use different size containers
Lavender baking candles
I have been told paraffin wax candle throw much better scent compared to soy wax candle. What is your experience?
I don’t use paraffin wax, it releases toxic fumes in the air

Also paraffin are the most popular and common. It soy is the best wax period and verse wax is just trash
Hi 👋 new sub can you make a video on how to measure your wax and fragrance oil candle math lol 😂
What temp did you pour?
185 degrees farenheit?
amazig video!!
Hello, how long do you let your candles cure for and what % in average works best for you?
I let them cure for 24 hours
I thought it’s never a good idea to move the jars once you have poured?
automotive utensil lighter nubs ; purpose auxiliaries
