Mace is such an asset to the game to us fans. He is incredibly knowledgeable, he knows the professional sports end of it, and also all the show business insights. Great character, so happy whenever I get to see him involved in anything darts. Thanks for these too!
Wouldnt expand AllyPally to 128 players. There's a lack of quality already in a part of the first round games. Expanding it will only lead to more matches that are not worth watching
Great example of you can do silly stuff when you are young and still sort your life out. I must admit i disliked him when he was a player and he's changed my mind and proved to me that I can be wrong about people and since he started commentating and presenting he's really impressed me and he's the only person i like to hear from when discussing stuff like this because he tells it like it is
Completely with Chris on the stance with the DRA and the fact that if a high profile player did something similar they would look over it purely because a) of what Chris said they’d just take it to the powers above and wipe it out in a heartbeat but then on the other side let’s say you found one of the top 8 involved, big money loss to the PDC and sponsors if you boot out a top 8 player for example. It’s criminal the way it’s done it’s almost like if there’s a player breaking in that doesn’t fit the bill there’s a way to get them booted off the tour with essentially hear say accusations that have no concrete ‘probability’ 😂
I live in the same place chris has his pub iv seen him walking around the tesco twice with his partner i find it so strange walking up to sombody like chris while there walking around doi g there shopping
I feel if chris was allowed to shake up the county scene. The team game of darts would make great strides. Most people now days are turning to the singles play as it puts money in their pocket. Create a league that puts money into teams pockets serious money and i think more players would want to play that.
Any updates you can share on Prakash and Jenks suspensions / hearings? Neither were mentioned in the interview and nearing 12 months on, not a word from anyone. Cheers!
@@chrismasondarts 2002. It seems that you/he (if you're not actually him) along with all those employing you/him (notably any area of the media) have wiped it from your minds, along with the burglary, assault, and benefit fraud that you/he also engaged in.
Mace knows his stuff. Hopefully one day he will be in the hierarchy of the PDC, he would rejig the schedule away from Germany ( which I think is a good thing), and go to places like the Philippines, Japan and America. My only issue with mace, he's losing his West Country accent.......... 🤣🤣 ( from a moonraker in Wiltshire) 👍🏻
Didnt pick up a dart until he was 30, NOW twice Grand Masters twice, Europe cup singles beating Eric in the final, North American Open (one of the toughest to win because of format and field) two time world championship runner up an incredible 14 years apart. Also won some of the biggest money racers ever played.
@@jasonblackburn6828 Depends who you are comparing him 2, his era was dominated by Eric & John and as already extensively mentioned Bobby chose to earn money rather than spend, out of all the players of that era no one earned more than Bobby out the sport, the value of his house supersedes what they earnt. The discussion was is Bobby underrated the answer is yes, massively and thats coming from someone who spent a serious amount of time with him at the end of his career.
This is a wonderful interview. Insightful and well-paced without filters. We need more relaxed interviews like this.

Always love hearing from Mace!
Agreed mate
Great interview as always 👍
The danger with adding more tournaments is you then are in danger of having too much and this happened to snooker.
Always great to hear Mace extended 👌

DRA, are they trying to justify their existence.. they have much power , by the looks..
Will be great to see Chris in the Seniors.
Is Keith Deller in it too?

Well this certainly makes a change from Chris Mason slamming hammers into people.
When did that happen?

Mace should be part of DRA surely, if its that easy!

@@chrismasondarts so 6 tournaments in a lot of years compared to the legends of the 80,s not many . still a great player and character though

@@jasonblackburn6828 Oh and just to add he won lots and lots of open tournaments.
I know one thing his book was one of the best I have read, hell of a grafter and interesting bloke.
