    This video is what sold me on getting Garuda. Once you opened Tales From The Borderlands with a simple command to run it with WINE, I was blown away. Gaming on Linux has never been easier!

    Awesome video. Thank you for making it. I've been trying to find videos on Garuda and came across yours. Im still knew to linux. Have only been using it for 4 days. I'm very happy to see they have some distros geared for gaming. Liked and subscribed, man, keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing more.

    It took some work getting everything set up, especially retroarch's PS2 core. I can't stand the built in shaders in Duckstation and PCSX2, so without reshade in linux applications I panicked when Retroarch kept crashing on PS2 when I needed it for CRT-royale. Just in case anyone else is running into that problem, apart from working BIOS in the specified directory, you also need to copy the "resources" folder from a real PCSX2 installation into that folder. In fact, just copy as many folders as you can find, but especially resources. I've got Steam, GoG, SNES, PS1, PS2 going already, but one annoying thing is that my PS4 controller keeps getting "disconnected", so I have to plug it out and in again. No idea why it happens. (Edit: oh I just heard you have that too, let me know if you solve it?). Apart from that, things are pretty good right now, I don't expect I will be forced to boot into windows too often anymore.

    I’d personally download Garuda dragonized instead of the dragonized-gamer you can use Garuda gamer to add in just what you want so it’s not so bloated and will be exactly the same. I know I really don’t have need of 75 or so kde mini games 😅

    I am thinking of trying Garuda. Currently using Nobara which I like but the games are hard to play. There are large black streaks flashing through them. The streaks go solid at some points; like looking through binoculars or behind a bush.
    This only occurs in games, not other apps.

    I will be the only one saying the opposite about this Distro. Sadly, none of my Linux compatible games and the ones with Proton compatibility worked.
    I made sure all Mesa drivers, Vulkan and Proton were exactly configured and updated…my games simply did not launch or got only a black screen.
    So far, the only Distro where I can play my Steam titles is OpenSUSE, so I guess I’m going back to it.

      without making a partition you would need another ssd/hdd or you could create a virtual machine with passthrough if you have an extra gpu.

    *QUESTION* You right-clicked on Tales From The Borderlands .EXE file to run with WINE. OK... the question is, does that game not have to run an installation?
    I want to play a particular MMO, nearly 27Gb installed in Windows. In a VMWare Workstation VM of Garuda, I set up Bottles and got the online installer, and the game opens and runs. Mouse control is completely shot, but I'm running an emulator through a VM so I'm not expecting perfection, just to see that it works.
    How does the right-click run with WINE work with something like this?

    • @megakingsmanzero
      @megakingsmanzero  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It doesn't matter if you're using Wine Windows Program Loader or Bottles, the question is, is it working for you? Video games have to be installed on your hard drive, and the choice of installation method is yours. This type of freedom is the beauty of Linux.

      @@yadpreet7454 I heard games with Valve Anti Cheat (aka VAC) usually do not work on linux, especially CS:GO and Garry's Mod.
