What a very informative video and nice to see this in real life instead of just words and pictures on a page. Chrissy you are such a loving caring mom and the children and Josh are lucky to have you.

I agree with the others, Crissie, you make that all look so easy. It's just harder for you when Avery "helps." The word you were trying to think of for the shape is a golf "tee." I hope it doesn't leak any more. Thank you for showing that. With my nursing career, I dealt with newborns, so it was always the NG tube that I used. Hugs to the family, and a big kiss for that precious pudding!🤗😘🩷

Nice that they teach the parents to change the G-Tubes on their children. Even in the hospital working in pediatrics in Canada, we had the doctors do the change. You do make it look so easy. I feel our nurses could be changing these on the wards after being certified to do so. Maybe now the pediatric nurses do it on their units, not sure, as I retired a few years back now. When the GT came out accidently, we would grab a sterile catheter tube to keep it open. Can't remember what the parents were taught at home when these accidents happen. Again you make it look super easy. So helpful for parents.

Thank you ❤️ I think parents can chose not to learn how to do it but we wanted to know as nurses aren’t always available. We have stoma stoppers incase her tube falls out - so if it fell out at nursery that’s what they’d use until I can replace it xx

Ohhhh momma, i wish you would use suegerical gloves while changing her tube. Especially with bacteria under those long nails. I've done home health care for 30yrs. I'm shocked the drs wouldn't insist that you wear gloves or at least show us you sanitizing your hands. Also, I've watched enough videos to express my opinions and one is, while trying to educate us, she's on your lap trying to bare the discomfort not to mention the nonstop gabbing to camera for hours. We don't really need to know every little thing while you're filming with sweet girl. She seems to get annoyed because you babble nonstop lol i know you want to educate us but maybe shorter videos? You barely take a break and breath once you have the camera on. Im exhausted listening yet i adore sweet Avery and love seeing her in happier moments. Not her struggling to breath, her coughing until she chokes and you continue to just talk and talk 😢
Just my opinion of course! Maybe something to ponder when filming! 😒😷🥺🩵✌🏻

God bless you all and continued prayers for Avery!

Don’t worry you are entitled to you opinions and the feedback is helpful. I don’t want you to think that I’m making Avery unhappy by having her on my lap though, it’s one of the only ways I can sit her upright she spends about 50% of the day in my arms whether I’m filming or not. Sadly she has been coughing like this since October, we’re not too sure how to make it better at this point. Xx

In the UK we don’t tend to use gloves because non sterile gloves sit in boxes for months gathering dust and we mostly do a non touch technique. In an established and well healed site like Avery’s there is no need for any additional cleaning/sterilising protocol just clean. A lot of our at home care (even for trachy children) tends to be clean instead of sterile. We of course do try to keep as sterile as possible but in this case Crissie is perfectly changing it 😊 (From my perspective as a paeds complex care worker who also has family experience with tube feeding in the UK)
