As a kid I used to think that it was the characters that sung the theme songs and because this song had said ass I thought Sonic himself said ass and I was like “that’s so COOL”
His World (Original): The Theme of Sonic 06 as a whole, it's the standard version all were based on. Blue World Prelude: Silver's version, it's melancholy, and represents the bleak future Silver comes from. Crush 40 ver.: Shadow's version, keeps the intensity of the original but maintains a darker tone than the original. The lyrics also are slightly darker than the original. Zebrahead ver.: Sonic's version (and his true theme). Has higher intensity than the original, and is much faster paced. The vocals are also notably more intense and cocky sounding. A perfect fit for Sonic
Was literally just thinking the exact same thing about all three versions for each character and then saw the comment which said it better than I could. Very well done. Also, Shadow representing the "past" and Crush 40 is basically the "past" as far as doing Sonic themes go. I wonder if it was intentional on their part but I doubt it.
Did you not hear the lyrics. Do you not played the games? Everyone, even in the comics call it Sonic's world. Even in Mario and Sonic games. "Straps on his shoes" "Hyperactive instrumental" "Breaking down doors never following!" "Where one is all~" this is Sonic theme.
Man, honestly, this version is so much better than the main version. I know it's almost identical, but damn. Should've been the real theme. Good on you, Zebrahead.
@@pogpurin My thoughts exactly. The original version always felt more like the theme of the game as a whole rather than Sonic's theme, while this version I felt like is the true "theme of Sonic" because of how the song is arranged. This is also why I feel like the Crush 40 version is dedicated to Shadow, and the Blue World version by Bentley Jones is dedicated to Silver.
I hoped to trigger some bad memories of infinitely flying into the sky during the Silver boss fight as Sonic with this comment. I think I was successful.
I've started listening to them around 2007-2008, basically "grew up with Matty's voice". I really really really love the Justin era songs, and I was genuinely sad about Matty's leaving, but: 1. It was his choice. He was not happy and wanted to do other things (he seems really happy with his Mendon Hale project and those songs are great aswell) 2. The way he communicated with the band and the fans was questionable, but give him a break, he is a human after all (as far as I know he lost family members in the past months/years who were really close to him, so feeling down and making not 100% perfect communications to everyone is I think really understandable) 3. As far as I know they are still on good terms with him and in the end I think that matters (also Justin and Greg have a project under the name Z3N Mafia which is cool aswell) 3+1: Ali, Dan and Ben also made a side project under the name Fear No Empier, also worth a listening, killer tunes. 4. Adrian seemed risky for me (I was so used to Matty), but his very first song with the band "Lay Me To Rest" was such a banger, I have literally 0 doubts about choosing him as singer. 5. As much as I loved Matty, he wasn't that active on social media. Don't get me wrong, I know it is draining for an artist and people are different, but Adrian already cares so much about the fans (and he just joined recently!). In the Zebrahead facebook group he commonly writes a comment, or makes a post, or overall reacts to fans which is such a great great feeling (not to mention Greg aswell, he reacts sometimes aswell) What I learned about this band it's more than just the voice. The core vibe they always had and experimented with is still with them. They are one of the best band live, really down to earth guys with the fans before and after show, and I have great feelings for their 3rd chapter. I am curious of the new material, but if for some reason I don't like it there are still so many songs from their over 20 years of career that I am forever grateful for.
Matty's leaving is understandable. The new vocalist is indeed amazing. It's just that I'm so used to Matty's voice and just need a little bit of time get accustomed to the new voice xD. Still, I'm looking forward for more of their songs that features Adrian
This game’s music is so damn memorable. My favorites are the main theme, crisis city and dreams of an absolution. Why couldn’t the overall game be on the same level as this amazing soundtrack?
This is coming from someone who is a zebrahead fan outside of sonic, this is their best song, it was during the transitional period between broadcast to the world and Phoenix and could easily fit in either album, this is a zebrahead song first and sonic theme second which is also why its my favorite version, this is sonic's sound not the crappy rap stuff they use for the movies thank you for coming to my Ted talk
This song has always (appropriately, given its year of origin) screamed mid-2000s punk rock (maybe that's not the right genre exactly...it's the music you'd expect to hear in a racing or skateboarding game of the time) and despite being a elementary schooler during said years, I absolutely, unironically, still _love it._
Most people who played this game are huge Sonic the Hedgehog fans. Like, since they were kids-- from like 1991 onward, in particular-- fans; not people who never started following him 'til the 3D games fans. However, many people were highly disappointed with this game. The story was tacky at best, the gameplay was really glitchy, the designs were rather weird despite the good graphics, and Sonic was rather out of character. I mean, I know he's the hero, and that kind of personality is to be expected from Sonic. Him being romantic is kinda out of character for him, though; even giving the benefit of the doubt that he's had Amy practically stalking him since 1993.
I really underestimated how much Zebrahead can rock. Rediscovered this version, started listening to a lot of them. Rescue Me and All My Friends Are Nobodies are awesome.
This song is really nostalgic to me, i rember this being his world, not an alternative version but this was the only version i heard somehow. And after a couple of years i listened to the original version on his world expecting this song to play..... but it was, .. off. I thought it was just my mind coming up with stuff, but i heard this version somewhere again, after that point i was dead set on finding this version of his world, and i finally found it. This is the superior version.
Honestly this is the way i got into Zebrahead and that’s probably one of the best things ever for me, Zebrahead is such a underrated and awesome band and i poured hours into listening to them enjoying almost everything they put out. I really suggest whoever reads this to check them out, Anthem is my favorite song ever from them and in general!
Listening to this gives me such painful nostalgia when I was young playing SONIC 2 on the Genesis, and then moving on to SA1 and SA2, and I first discovered SONIC 06 on the PS3 while I was hospitalized and it helped me get through it, I miss my youth so much..
This is, and always will be, Sonic’s theme to me. It perfectly shows the rapid, stylish, cocky-but-for-reason attitude that Sonic is world-renowned for
I believe if they tried to make the game again but took their time with it , adjusted the controls , graphics and some general gameplay it would be a good game remastered, it was a pretty decent game idea with power ups and customizations just rushed and unfinished the story was pretty good
I agree with the gameplay part, but what did you say about story? It wasn't good at all. It's full of plotholes, Sonic is so unimportant and unnecessary, the romance between Sonic and elise is absurd, out of place and uninteresting. If you like the story then that's ok, but it's not good story by any means.
"When you leap without a net you'll find it won't be there all the time so watch your step now watch your step don't fall." The hardest and realist lyrics in this song. 🔥🗣️😭
2:26 This moment is possibly the most hype part of any Sonic song. The intensity, the build up, and that scream from Ali (or Matty, I dont remember) is just the cherry on top. Then the silence afterwards as the guitar gets ready to go absolutely crazy is so awesome. One of my favorite moments of any song ever
It just hits different me and my friend are gonna blast this at max volume and roll down the windows so everyone can here how much of a master piece this is
This just proves that adding Zebrahead just improves literally everything. This version is definitely my favorite, it just has an infectious energy to it.
Man, I remember when I first heard this I was like "this rap dude sounds familiar" found out it was the same band that did "Check" and "Playmate of the year" lol
Well guess what? *DON'T.* This song tells you to not cry. It tells you that yes, some things are emotional, but all in all, tears of any emotion will dehydrate you and drain you of your will and determination. If you cry, people will make fun of you, and lower your morale, all because you're succumbing to your wounds. This song tells YOU to keep running, not your tears. YOU are the only one who can change everything. So stay strong, be brave, kick ass, and most importantly... Go fast. You gotta do it.
Bro this brings back the good o’l days, I remember being 4 and I keep listening to this music, now I’m 13 and this is still an awesome song. Nostalgic moments🥹🥹🥹
I mean there's no point in remastering it and have the risk to f*ck up again and there's also P06 which is a stellar project and it's free So people are going to choose the free fan made project instead of a 60$ remaster
I'll have Sonic for my kids to play. Because even if the games aren't that great, the character embodies the most important thing about life: live fearlessly by the flow, don't look back
This is the TRUE version of His World.. it's fast-paced, full of energy, AND it's all rock! This version SCREAMS Sonic (it fits as the character's theme)! Why isn't THIS the original version?
@@wavemaster4891 The Zebrahead version is not the original because only Ali Tabatabee and Matty Lewis are in the original and in this version it's the whole band
I kinda live my life by the philosophy of this song's main line. "When you leap without a net you'll find it won't be there all the time." I accept and appreciate help when offered, but I need to make sure I'm not reliant on it. Because when shit hits the fan and no one's around to help, what then?

Sonic has way more bangers than Mario.
That's... not even a discussion xd
FACTS
Mario, by comparison, is baby stuff.
Mario has bops for sure but yeah it’s not the same level as Sonic 😌
I wonder if sonic is actually a music franchise under the guise of a game 😂
The definitive version.
yay
STH1 SAM
Mostly like the ''ultimate version'', you got it? like Shadow, as it sound more like to him
Hell yeah this should've been the promotional one
it actually fits sonic, unlike the title theme
“Never fear the fall!”
“Watch your step, now, watch your step, don’t fall!”
Seems contradicting to me.
Just because your not scared of falling dosent mean theres not a giant ass hole below you.
Well just because you shouldn't be scared of it doesn't mean you should fall.

Every version of this song is amazing, but I love this one the best.
Whose original version is it? I thought it was from zebrahead
"Never fear the fall, when you leap without a net you'll find it won't be there all the time" so fucking underrated
This game’s music is so damn memorable. My favorites are the main theme, crisis city and dreams of an absolution. Why couldn’t the overall game be on the same level as this amazing soundtrack?
Sonic kicks ass did I just hear that

Ah.. its no use?
Sega just cant compete anymore.
I think the music was so good that it broke the game
This is coming from someone who is a zebrahead fan outside of sonic, this is their best song, it was during the transitional period between broadcast to the world and Phoenix and could easily fit in either album, this is a zebrahead song first and sonic theme second which is also why its my favorite version, this is sonic's sound not the crappy rap stuff they use for the movies thank you for coming to my Ted talk
I totally agree, I love Zebrahead and this song, even if you separate this song from Sonic (Which I also love) it's by far their best song
You’re completely right, it is.
Fun fact, I was listening to this song while working and I actually tripped and fell when the song said "don't fall" 😂😂😂😭😭😭 I wish I was lying
LOL that’s hilarious
Don't fall next time
is this not just the greatest chorus in all of sonic or what man this is so perfectly peak and always will be
How could anyone hate Sonic? I mean this is a greatest hit song I've ever listen when it comes to one of these games.
WrathriumXFears yeah, but the game is bad, i still 100% it though
Most people who played this game are huge Sonic the Hedgehog fans. Like, since they were kids-- from like 1991 onward, in particular-- fans; not people who never started following him 'til the 3D games fans. However, many people were highly disappointed with this game. The story was tacky at best, the gameplay was really glitchy, the designs were rather weird despite the good graphics, and Sonic was rather out of character. I mean, I know he's the hero, and that kind of personality is to be expected from Sonic. Him being romantic is kinda out of character for him, though; even giving the benefit of the doubt that he's had Amy practically stalking him since 1993.
good music =/= good games
Sonic always seems to get the music right though
yes
I really underestimated how much Zebrahead can rock. Rediscovered this version, started listening to a lot of them.
Rescue Me and All My Friends Are Nobodies are awesome.
Sad this version isn't on Spotify :(
Yeah I wanted to listen to this on Spotify and sadly it wasn’t there :((
Well it kinda it is similar to the his world in the Gotta go fast album by Nate wants to battel
Why? It's still the same song, just listen it on TH-cam Music.
Natewantstobattle made a cover on this song
And it's on Spotify
Still bummed this version still ain’t on Spotify
This song is really nostalgic to me, i rember this being his world, not an alternative version but this was the only version i heard somehow. And after a couple of years i listened to the original version on his world expecting this song to play..... but it was, .. off. I thought it was just my mind coming up with stuff, but i heard this version somewhere again, after that point i was dead set on finding this version of his world, and i finally found it. This is the superior version.
I bet u was searching long and hard for dis
It really is superior
9 years later, I still love the part at 0:49 as it really mixes well with sonic and the song itself and just sounds amazing.
12 years later and this song is STILL a legendary Sonic BOP. 💖💙🎶

Me on the first day of summer vacation.
Listening to this gives me such painful nostalgia when I was young playing SONIC 2 on the Genesis, and then moving on to SA1 and SA2, and I first discovered SONIC 06 on the PS3 while I was hospitalized and it helped me get through it, I miss my youth so much..
THE CHORUS, VOCALS AND EVERYTHING IS AMAZING
I like how a funny speedy hedgehog fights against an all-consuming conceptually and virtually impossible to beat god in this game, and somehow wins.
The serotonin this song gives me knows no bounds
I don’t know which version I prefer...
How about all of them? xd

Bump tbh, but there are other sonic songs I think are way better.
"If they made a whole different game it would be good"
Gotta throw the whole game out
HD Kiss?
*NOPE*
redo the game but take out the romance. at least shadows arc was cool with mephiles
Despite all the game's flaws, it has a super good soundtrack. That's something Sega's done right with every sonic game.
Definitive version of His World, right here
"When you leap without a net you'll find it won't be there all the time so watch your step now watch your step don't fall."
The hardest and realist lyrics in this song.

Zebrahead is such an amazing band. This song got me to explore their music!
Zebrahead is so underrated it hurts, they're such an amazing band
they're going back to this style for hype. I couldn't ask for more!
“WHEN YOU LEAP WITHOUT A NET YOULL *FIND* IT WONT BE THERE AllllLLLL THE TIMEEE...” is my favorite line to sing
I want to cry, it's really amazing. Seriously
Well guess what?
*DON'T.*
This song tells you to not cry.
Go fast. You gotta do it.
as soon as I hear this song's beat drop I subconsciously yell *"IN HIS WOOOOOORLD"*
This band is so amazing and unique. Thanks flatout 2 for making me know this band exists. Such good memories 😢
Bro this brings back the good o’l days, I remember being 4 and I keep listening to this music, now I’m 13 and this is still an awesome song. Nostalgic moments🥹🥹🥹
This Song made me a Zebrahead Fan, love their music.
I'm still a bit sad that Matty left the band, but the new vocalist sounds even better than Matty did live.
I loved this game actually, the music makes it even better
Imagine if Sega had the balls to remaster THIS game and make it good.
I mean there's no point in remastering it and have the risk to f*ck up again and there's also P06 which is a stellar project and it's free
So people are going to choose the free fan made project instead of a 60$ remaster
@@Michael_Afton40 There's also the possibility of SEGA just buying P-06.

This song invented a new level of going absolutely hard asf.
You listen to this and realize Sonic is legitimately an icon.
I kinda live my life by the philosophy of this song's main line. "When you leap without a net you'll find it won't be there all the time." I accept and appreciate help when offered, but I need to make sure I'm not reliant on it. Because when shit hits the fan and no one's around to help, what then?
