Another super video. Many--many thanks for doing these. I found a way to re-use all my practice pieces. I got the measurements of my Vet's office crates and cut my pieces down to fit. Then I bind them and donate. The dogs and cats do not care if my pieces have all different color threads and or designs all over them. I was so happy I could put them to another use. Much better than just throwing them away. I hope some of your students might do the same.

What a fabulous thing to do! There are lots of fur babies at the humane society up the road from me that sleep on my designs as well. ;)

I have always loved your opinion on free quilting, not making cookie cutter designs. It allows more room for creativity.

It's the best way for me. I get that some people need to know ahead of time exactly where they're going and what they are doing but I prefer the "Fly by the seat of my pants" approach. LOL

Tracy I love your videos and they help me tremendously. I was wondering if you could do a fern type feather with fronds demo.

  • @happytraveller8953

Good evening. I am new to your party. Can you get similar results with just a domestic machine? I do not have a long arm. Even more depressing is that my free-motion quilting for anything other than an ugly meander (my meander is ugly...) is pretty pathetic and sad. So, I usually just stitch in the ditch or do spaced straight lines. Is there hope for my quilting skills? Thanks in advance.

Awe! Mary Lou! Don't be so hard on yourself! Spend lots of time doodling in a sketch book to gain muscle memory. Start with the simpler shapes and work your way up. You CAN do it!

ya know, it would almost be of more help to me as a novice to wee a professional such as yourself deal with a mistake like a scrunched up bit of fabric or a bird's nest mess with the thread. It would help to know what to do to fix a mess...
