I just ordered the mic to use on camera at events. The gain adjustment was an important feature. Its maximum SPL rating of 130dB was another factor since I can foresee people shouting into the mic to get above and background music at events. The reviews I have seen, the included windshield effectiveness seems subpar. At a significant additional cost, I am picking up a third party windshield that fits on the mic without the foam cover.

Other than the battery is there any other difference between this mic and the Deity D3 PRO

This video is timely as I was researching getting an on camera mic. I know it’s not exactly same price point but I’m looking at Sennheiser MKE 400. I’d be curious to see a sound quality comparison of the Diety D4 to the Sennheiser MKE 400.

The 400 is the model Im also looking. But there does seem to be problem with the durability of the hotshoe mounting ring cracking.

What internal battery? It uses a replaceable AAA battery.
