Sounds like she cant afford the condo. A lot of these folks on social media act like they living this luxury lifestyle but truth is most people in Toronto don't make a lot of money.

In Toronto , if you can afford it, you should definitely buy a unit near the Subway line. Not rent. Its guaranteed profit investment after time. And if you dont need it, rent it out and let others pay the mortgage.

Maybe these are furnished vs unfurnished, but I live in the SF Bay, which I thought was the most expensive place in the world to live. But I have a 2 bed 2.5 bath with a garage for $2800. Best of luck on your search!
