I'd recommend checking out the Radical Design Chubby! I recently got one and am planning to use it for a bike tour in Japan (Fuji five lakes) with my Brompton. A very cool value proposition being able to gate check the Brompton in the trailer and have it haul camping gear when the trip starts. It is a costly investment though.
do you think there are enough threads left so that the trailer is safely attached and does not work the nut loose? I read on reddit that people use extensions but this is not available for sturmey archer axles which are 13/32, only maybe the spectro adapter but it is 10.5 mm
I was pretty comfortable with it for this particular attachment! Felt pretty solid and with the ball/socket design I didn't see that much force would go laterally.
What did you think? Would you use this trailer with a Brompton? What other things would you carry with this set-up?
Awesome! Glad I could support the channel.

That's a sweet setup! I'd definitely consider it if I wasn't so nervous about camping in general
😂 What a tease! You put another Brompton in the baby seat? Where’s the baby…

@@BestSideCycling great ro hear esp. if titanium rear triangle is used but I guess steel is more safe or what do you think?
Next you should start doing some grocery deliveries for the local cycling club
That's right! :) Next time I'll definitely try it out.
Which model is your Brompton and what’s the make of the trailer? I’m planning to do the same. ❤
This is a C Line 6 Speed with the Thule Chariot
What does braking feel like while pulling that chariot?
Feels all right, definitely a longer braking distance but on flat it's totally fine. I wouldn't go down any steep downhill with this of course :P
Would you be able to fit your Brompton in the carry case behind the trailer?
I'm also interested in knowing if this is possible as I'll have to do a nursery drop off soon with a Brompton 🤞
did you change chainring?
Not on this Brompton, but I am going to chain it for my Yellow one to a 44T
@@BestSideCycling did you ever consider dual chainring 54/50 33T since you did these uphill challenges or are you fine with 44T even with a trailer?
@@BestSideCycling love to hear how it is with a 44T
