I just located the "Free Download" option in a drop down box. I submitted my name and email. I figure the hang up is on my end by not submitting all the information needed. I love your work and am super excited to learn all I can. I hope to accomplish amazing photos such as yours.
I have been pouring over the internet for videos and trainings. Yall have hit the mark with this training. Best tutorial I’ve seen! I’m so excited to have found yall.
I'm honestly shocked that this video didn't have more views for me personally you guys broke it down and explained everything in a way that I understood and I wasn't overwhelmed with a bunch of technical grammar I know it's important to know what everything means when you're learning about a subject but something about the way you guys explain everything helped me out a lot so thank you.
I think my issue is how far back I should stand (in feet). I think a great video would be helpful for us newbies as to how far to stand and the distance from the subject to the camera and how that affects the settings. Maybe I’m just over thinking this but I’m trying to find this out right now. Great video and thanks for the help
Your segment about depth of field, how to control it, and how it affects the image was good. I've not heard many speak of this and how to use it and how it shows up in the photo. Good stuff. It takes time working with your camera, taking lots of pictures, looking at your results, to really understand that exposure triangle of ISO / F-stop / shutter speed. That is what makes photography fun!
Thank you so much! I love that you ladies explain it in Laymans terms! My husband got me a nice camera and some lenses and I have only used it on Auto because I have been afraid to try manual mode, but with your videos and worksheet I am going out and take some pictures on manual. 😊
Do you have a video on how to set color modes? I'm wanting to learn how to program my Canon r5 to similar color schemes like you profile picture on your TH-cam channel. Thank you!
I cannot tell you how much all your videos have helped me!! I found you guys a while ago and I thought I had subscribed and apparently didn’t, fast forward I got into doing photos more and needed extra help again! I searched all over looking for the two blonde sisters on TH-cam that helped me out about a year ago, I thought I lost you😭 then out of nowhere your video popped up and I was SOOOOO HAPPY!!!! Again, all your videos have helped me so much and I was able to capture amazing wedding photos for my step sister 😭🥰 thank you for all your time in teaching!!❤️ Also, I made sure to actually subscribe this time! 😉
Thank you so much for the videos! I'm soaking them up. It feels hard to be a new photographer who wants to learn, and I really appreciate you both sharing your knowledge.

Hi, you guys rock. I have fully enjoyed your tutorial. I have watched your other videos as well. It seems like you know all my issues when it come to photography. I struggle with the manual function the speed and aperture. I'm wondering if there can be more videos on the camera functions. The actual buttons and knobs.
Great information, thanks! I would like videos on what you take with you for different session types (behind the scenes). I feel like I am carrying so much equipment that I need an assistant. Do you use props? Also do you use a flash or have videos on using a flash?
@@esquared.photography Great. Thank you. I'll be taking on my first senior shoot this summer for my buddies twin daughters. Great advice on your videos. I filled half a page with notes. Lol
so if I use a 250mm lens, i want to increase the shutter speed to 1/500? This lense is a 55mm -250mm. I also have a 18-55mm and id want that shutter speed to be 1/110?
The issue I have is when I take pictures inside the property ( beachouse) and I want to capture the ocean view , let’s say from the kitchen area , my picture comes out Dark but the view of the ocean it’s perfect.
I want to take a family pictures. I mostly take pictures outside for 2 hours before sunset. I want to capture their movement for walking pictures. I use most A priority mode. How can I ensure to get the families sharp and not blurred?
I find my images are just not tack sharp even following these practices. I just cannot figure it out as to why focus is off somewhere along the way., It could be my focus settings, but I’m never sure.
So, if my picture is too dark when the shutter speed is at double the focal length, I should increase the ISO rather than decrease the shutter speed? Or do I decrease the shutter speed to keep the picture from becoming to grainy and risk it becoming blurry?
Totally get it! Try turning your shutter speed or aperture up! That might help. We have a free manual mode 1 hour training this week! Here is the link if you want to join us. e-squared.mykajabi.com/spring-webinar
Hello ladies, I have subscribed to your channel and anxiously awaiting your work sheet. I haven't received the worksheet but am getting other emails. I am checking to make sure I haven't missed a step in singing up for the worksheet. Thank you.
Hey, Ladies, I know this is an old video, but I have the issue that I want to shoot wide open for the blurred background, but i will almost forget about it if there is more than 2 people, 😆. This is probably a practice issue. but I want to get to the point wear everything is properly expose with a low aperture.
So there is more to the blurred background than just the low f stop too. It has to do with the lens, the distance from the subject and the background too. We never shoot wide open just because we want to get our subject or subjects crisp. The lowest we will go is an f2.2 typically.
@@esquared.photography So that is how I go in thinking, but I will usually end up between 2.8 or 4. I don't think about the 'blurred' background until I am editing later on. I think I should just practice that type of portrait to get better at seeing it while shooting. But I am also in the Vineyard area on the Mosel, so folks want to see the people and the background.

Y’all are awesome
I had no idea what these were a year ago before I bought my DSLR!
Where is cheat sheet
You girls are amazing 🤩🤩
Right back at you!
Awesome video. I totally need help with this..
How do you feel about using aperture mode vs shutter mode?
Thank you!
Great information, thanks! I would like videos on what you take with you for different session types (behind the scenes). I feel like I am carrying so much equipment that I need an assistant. Do you use props? Also do you use a flash or have videos on using a flash?
Love this video idea!! We do use props sometimes. We don’t do flash at all.
my struggle is low lighting dealing with ISO indoors? If I put the Iso for example 1600 what should my shutter speed and aperture be ?
Thank you so much!
will the worksheet still work the same on a mirrorless? I have the canon m50
Do you prefer a prime lens over a zoom?
We love prime lenses!

Can’t find cheat sheet
If you click on the little down arrow by the video title you should be able to find it. It can be a little tricky. Sorry!
Hi on a sunny day outside if I had a shutter speed 1-2500 aperture 1.8 iso 320 should my iso be lower
We would typically be at ISO 200 :)
Ok is my shutter speed was to high
so if I use a 250mm lens, i want to increase the shutter speed to 1/500? This lense is a 55mm -250mm. I also have a 18-55mm and id want that shutter speed to be 1/110?
Yes! But try not to overthink it with a zoom lens. Try around a 1/300 with both and try some movement shots and see if you’re getting crisp images.
Awesome! Make sure to have your aperture turned up to at least 3.2 and shutter speed pretty quick (1/250 or higher).
Why is it that sometimes my aperture will only go down to a f5. And it’s in manual mode. I can’t get it to a f4.5 or lower/larger.
All lenses are different. So if you look at your lens it should have a number and that is the lowest aperture you can shoot at with that lens.
I find my images are just not tack sharp even following these practices. I just cannot figure it out as to why focus is off somewhere along the way., It could be my focus settings, but I’m never sure.
That’s so frustrating!! We do have a free 4 part video series that talks about focus issues. Let us know if you want that link. Thanks!!
So, if my picture is too dark when the shutter speed is at double the focal length, I should increase the ISO rather than decrease the shutter speed? Or do I decrease the shutter speed to keep the picture from becoming to grainy and risk it becoming blurry?
I would increase ISO for sure in this situation :)
Because I so often shoot landscapes and wild animals with aperture-priority, I have forgotten to check my camera's meter when using manual settings.
I struggled with ISO specially when I adjust it in the sunlight , it is still very bright
Totally get it! Try turning your shutter speed or aperture up! That might help. We have a free manual mode 1 hour training this week! Here is the link if you want to join us. e-squared.mykajabi.com/spring-webinar
