Finally got to skate Burnside about a month ago-on my 50th birthday! AND I HAD IT ALL TO MYSELF!!! An epic moment in my life.
Hope you didn't get wrecked. I know I probably would have, haha.
and how many tricks did you land? cuz its hard to do anything there
@@Olsenator and slicker than ice, while being rough and bumpy
Hell yes dude! This comment made my day.
I turned 44 today. Work has kept me off my board for way too long but after watching this it's time to go flow around the nearby bowls.
I'm 43 and I helped build Burnside... one of the coolest things I've ever been a part of.
Who?
quit flexin
THANK YOU
That’s gangsta
Why can't we scoot there dawg
So much history at this DIY it’s crazy
Pedro fires me up like none other. That attempted finger flip at the end is too good.
thats tyler pacheco
Gets your blood flowing just watching. Skaters build the best parks.
Absolutely, that's why any Team Pain never fails.
Bro I’m literally sweating just watching it
this ones gonna be on repeat for a while.
For the lucky people who have been able to skate this place, all these tricks are so incredibly insane. the spine transfer boardslide is so fucked. Just to get near the back wall/quarter lip is hard, let alone do lip tricks. the late bigspin transfer isnt human, omg, props to this team of legends
Thought exactly of these two tricks you name. The late Bigspin, wtf.
You gotta really know how to pump and muscle your way up the wall here, all the pros make it look easy but Burnside is gnarly as fuck
@@roybatty4578 I saw that tag saying "skateboard or split". I've been skating a long time, but I'm not sure if what I could do there would even qualify!! Fairly intimidating.
@@Rufusdos Ok if you're set on going here's my advice. If you can get up to the coping on any ramp with two feet of vert and you're comfortable with roll ins, getting used to Burnside's flow is a good two hour learning curve. If dropping in is scary for you and you're more of a tech skater, don't go. Also, plan on rolling a joint for whatever locals are there if you're from out of town, they're only cool with the non-locals that smoke 'em out.
@@roybatty4578 Erk... that's me ruled out, then. I've never rolled in over the coping on anything bigger than a miniramp, never reached the coping on anything vertical, and weed is not part of my life. Cheers for the reality check!!
Trujillo clips were a pleasant surprise, dude still charges
I showed up with my board one morning and had the place mostly to myself. I pretty much just rolled back and forth in the squarish bowl in the corner. but I can forever say that I skated Burnside. It's so gnarly in real life.
I moved from San Francisco to Portland this past February. My kids and I love skating Burnside. I feel so lucky to now live under 2 miles from this historic spot.
welcome to the area!
@@twentytwenty8653 thank you! I love Portland.
Is Pat Quirk still down there. Q man
Aint seen Q for a while. Not lookin' so good last time.
I would give up all my worldly possessions to skate like GT for 10 minutes
I went here with my mom for my 17th, we went for a concert but after we came here and it was amazing, one of my fav skateparks
that transfer to boardslide at 3:00 is just pure insanity, how someone has the balls to do that is just beyond me
Burnside holds a special spot in my heart. When it was first built, my father used to take me down there in the winter and him and I would see crazy shit. (To say that it was rough is an understatement).
After not skating for years, I’m
relearning the basics on those small quarterpipes near the spiderbowl and I love it!
Burnside fir life!
What a crew in this one!!! All my favorite skaters at one time in one place!
Was there that day, pulled up and saw mason and Pedro. And before I knew it TNT came from around the van. Very crazy, you see locals shred but to see 3 SOTYs shred our church is amazing
So fucking gnarly!!! Gets me super hyped! Hopefully at somepoint in my life I can visit myself in person! 🤟🏻🔥
Seeing that place in person makes this whole video mind blowing
Worlds best DIY spot... And the skaters there are gnarly...
Lived just a few towns outside of Portland my whole life, started skating a couple years ago and couldn't be happier that P-town is my home. Halloween Jam was sick this year, never stop shredding
I came here as a early teen. There was never a doubt that this was my home.
Stoked to see a whole video focused on my city and the best DIY ever
I could watch footage of this crew for the next 18 days straight. Fuck. What a way to start the day.
Heart and Soul of Skateboarding right there...
I am speechless. Only the most gnarliest raw skating at burnside. Burnside rules. SKATEBOARDERS rule this earth
The irony of the no scooter sign is comedy. Skaters have been ignoring no skater signs for 40 years and now they have their own prejudices
No scooter built that park
I skated there for like 4 years. I never saw anyone ollie off the box truck. Amazing.
Straight up GNAR!!! GT, Raney and TNT going hard AF 18 crew all day! Ronnie, Pedro and all these dudes get me so fired up. Sick video. 🔥🔥🔥🦅
Love this park since THPS and Grind Sessions days in my PlayStation
2:34 that late shuv was actually sick
0:56 Every skate park in the world needs one of these!!! For reals though!!
I was there while this was being filmed and these guys were going crazy
Happy birthday burnside. The og skater built park, respect and hope for another 30
So fucking rad seeing tony Raney and grant sheedding! Would have loved to see ol Andy Roy in there!
This is very ThrasherxSpitfire-esque👌🏾🤙🏾🤘🏾
Spifire's videos never disappoints us
this Place is Nuts! they make it look so smooth and like the ramps are tiny. In real life it's Soooo intimidating! If you've invested your life to skateboarding. You Have to see this place
Could be the heaviest fucking crew right there in one video
I’ve been to burnside once but I was too new to skating to even drop in, now I just want to go back and shred so bad
if u ever go to burnside, you gotta respect the tradition and shredd till you die.
Reall good to see tony rip full force again love it
Sick to see some footage of Tony, he could just do bs 50-50s and I would get hyped.
As of this post, 9 M F's don't know what fun looks like. I do, this upload was mint. That park is mint.
Outstanding video
frank gerwer smiling was the best clip
Thank you spitfire thank you thrasher thank you real skateboarding thank you burnside
If you were there last night… I LOVE YOU
I just wanna say that Trasher is a great company that has done a lot for the skating community and dose not deserve what hate they get for being a “poser” brand.
Pedro Delfino ender 🔥
Spitfire for life 🔥
That’s awesome u guys used that song for that spot, well missed, also heavy skates in action
Whats the songg??
@@gilbertrujillo3598 it’s a song by mark Hubbards band, can’t remember the name but it makes me want to roll
Kurt took in mark. I really appreciates this mark hubbards somewhere eating baby food RN.
Great🔥🔥
I LOVE SEE IT ! Thanks guys 🥵🔥
That got my heart pumpin'.
The hardest thing about skating this place is you can't see the transition shape or size until you hit it. Even coping is different also but it was a pleasure to skate. Even thing is large or steep I would skate very or be proficient in a 6-7 bowl before skating the main section.
But you could just roll around and watch :)
Haven't been back since 2002 ish
love this bru ray kinda vibe
I lived to skate my whole life, I didn't know alley oops was a basketball phrase until much later in life,.. Grant Taylor and Pedro opening clips, the two biggest alley oops that hip has ever seen?!
Oh man that brings me back.. Looks so much more developed now.. Ugh I am old..
Madness from delfino!! Legend
Legendary DIY gonna live forever!!!
Is that song by Grindline?
I love you Thrasher
First place I tried to drop in. Last place I tried to drop in. 😆
The video does no justice to how fast you have to go to hit this stuff. Its full send all the time in there. now im an old man but in the 90's to the mid 2000s i went there as much as i could. the place is gnarly. these dudes do an amazing job making it look effortless. but even the rolling in and pumping the park takes a serious amount of effort. its not that sweeet smooth surface that parks made today or in the last 10 years have. this place is a national treasure. you gotta rip to even be able to pump this place properly. i remember when the park was a homeless hangout. the pool was full of all kinds of nasty fluids. going at night was sketchy back then too. its def got a better vibe there these days.
That box truck parte was sick
hell yeah Simon ‼️
tony at burnside 💪
Love the attention to detail of using a Mark Hubbard song from his band for a video on burnside.
1. If you don’t know these dudes by first names only you need to go study 2. Tony must’ve found the fucking fountain of youth
yes pls
DAMN HE KILLED IT
This place looks like a lot of fun,,,...
This is what its about, with the homies shredding hard
Damn wish I was there 2019 was fye tho🔥🔥
very nice
What song is that in the beginning
Damn what a video ❤️
So gnarly. Everyone here just ripped it up!
Yay
I been there. It's nice.
Grant with the opener and the only kickflip!
Mind blown 😳
Imagine them pulling up to your local and destroying it like this 🤯
Bru ray vibes. Rip pstone mark & phelps. HELLRIDE 4 LIFE
Love seeing TNT
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Duuuuude. That was fucking heavy. Heavy crew . Just getting fucking started 🤘
🔥🔥🔥
That dude really saved it at the end 😅
Grant ❤️🔥
respect in every aspect! 🎤🔥✊
You guys are my ANTI HEROES!!! Been pushing since 87 be 48 this Saturday & will Sk8 till I die!
what songs are used in this?
First one is Grindline - Acid Rain
@@gerbilsk8er thanks man
What’s this song called
Love to see some GT
What band sings this song? I must know..
grindline-acid rain
Appreciate it brother
Last month I went to Portland and haven't been there since 2017 when I lived there. Revisited Burnside- holy fuck it is so different now. Adding that loop/pipe was a shock. My buddy I went there with has never been- so when we got home, I wanted to show him the park in THPS 1&2 & show him how different it is. Granted- it's waaaay more spaced out in the game, but it seems the irl park is getting crammed a wee bit. Plus the piss smell still burns the eyeballs like it use to lol
This being a park In my town is wacky to me I love knowing I live by a park with so much history sick part also
Video was sick. What's the song name??
He's still stylemaster Tony
