that's because portland is filled with people named Scragley or Dirt or Toejam and they all live in some nasty run down punk house in alberta or some shit
Just came back from google this sht is hilarious “My 7 year old wanted to skate the park because he had heard it was cool. The old man skating there was an ahole to him. Will never recommend this place” and “Brought my boy, couldnt ride, sadly, it aint a place for scooters. Coulda done without the smell of piss, too.”
I believe it. When I went there were so many junkies up above that wall where people drop in from right under the bridge. Just shooting up dope like nobody could see them. It was like a whole gang of them lol
I've skated it and totally respect all these guys. But at the same time, after skating it I can say if you're just an average skater, it wasn't all that great. You have to be really good to skate here
Someone put out a little part recently, and it had the song from omar and Judd's part from foundation - art bars. I'm a bit older now and that video must have been made in 2000. Just using that song in a modern part brought me so much nostalgia I cant even explain how fired up it got me.
So much talent from everyone, Proud to say I live right here in the 503 home of the Burnside! I did grow up in Olympia Washington 16yrs and I did know a guy name sage that went Olympia high school who is a skater that was like 30 years ago could be the same Bro.
i remember always seeing brent atchley skate in seattle wehn i was a kid that dude probably the steeeziest stance and always kept his feet in stance at all times
About 18 years ago on Christmas day, which would have been about 2002 I remember skating Burnside with Germ and a bunch of locals for hours that morning. 4EVER BURNSIDE 🛹
In the early ‘90s I delivered produce multiple times a week to Pacific Coast Fruit Co., which is right across the street from the park. I got to watch those guys build that park. They worked a bit here and there, and the police let them work, which was really cool. The craziest part was seeing them build frames and pour concrete. Burnside should be a protected landmark.
I remember when I went to Burnside in January of this year, there was a very ungrateful man who did not let me look or take pictures of the skatepark, he yelled at me several times it was very uncomfortable (I've been skateboarding for 16 years)
Went there in 1993 with toothless Germ aka buttdrop Germ. Slept in the big bowl and got served often. Long live the legends. Happy anniversary and here's to hopefully 30 more!
Monk actually has some bars dude that song was perfect. Delorian fakie rock at the end was tight, Burnside is a national monument and will be protected as a sacred site. RIP to all casualties of skate army.
Is that first clip labelled Mason Silva actually him? Nothing about it looks like him and there's another clip like a minute later that is for sure him.
At 5:00 - 5:01, lol, that's not Mason Silva. It shows him a few seconds later, tho...😂 Now why is it that from 2:43 to 3:00, they dont once name the slayer? I mean skater... well, it's Mark "Red" Scott. One of the best skaters I've ever seen in my life. Even had the pleasure of skating with, and partying with Red on more than one occasion. He's a good dude. And by the way, he hates racists, so he's extra fuckin cool. Edited: nvm, they show him earlier on, so I'm guessing they didnt think they needed to show his name again lol my bad😬
damn this was a great watch, although that one guy attempting that gnarly rolling drop in over and over again was a bit much for my weak stomach. like seriously. thats insane. good insane. but definitely completely insane, lol.
love Burnside clips theres always some dude named Scragly or something doing an insane drop in
Lmao too true
Germ
that's because portland is filled with people named Scragley or Dirt or Toejam and they all live in some nasty run down punk house in alberta or some shit
blimey
lol, Redding this comment before watching the vid made it so much better
One of my favorite parts of Burnside is the Google reviews from scooter moms who attempted to bring kids there
omg didnt know that was a thing, JENKEM should get on it
I need to check this out. Away to google it now..

Who is this mystery old man that keeps shouting at people? Another comment mentions him.
Q man represent
When I was in 3rd grade my dad took me to skate this park, and there was an enormous shit in the middle of one of the bowls. I will never forget that.
Raw
Raw
That wasn't in the Tony Hawk's game lol
Raw
I believe it. When I went there were so many junkies up above that wall where people drop in from right under the bridge. Just shooting up dope like nobody could see them. It was like a whole gang of them lol
anyone who has ever skated this park irl knows how batshit insane all these clips really are, respect
I've skated it and totally respect all these guys. But at the same time, after skating it I can say if you're just an average skater, it wasn't all that great. You have to be really good to skate here
my dad skated there when he was young.
proud to be from this city
Was waiting 6 minutes for the Raybourn clip
Totally
Ben Raybourn ending! Squad
I hope he's doing alright. Only one clip that I know of in the past 3 years or so. That walkway clip was so gnarly.
he finessed the shuit outta that drop
I was gonna be angry if they didnt have Raven clips. They pulled through though. Brent Atchley is always a treat too.
Learned to drop in there back in 94. It’s so much more gnarly than it looks.
Anyone who comes from the top of the wall is a true madman, that shits a suicide mission
Lol shot already looks hectic as fuck can’t imagine in person
@@gaberioux6244 you're toes tingle standing up there...I skate there weekly
Brent Atchley will always be the style king of Burnside. Those early 00's tapes are fucking legendary.
Definitely dude! I was waiting for his clips...that guy has one of the best steezes, even when he used to sag the shit outta his pants haha
Atchley is the goat
They didn't put any effort into his part in this.
And he still is fucking killing it there and all over Portland to this day, and doing great work with “Push Movement”!!
Fellow portlanders will let you know how much crazier the park is in person too!
I'm assuming by now the bowls are overflowing with used needles
Omar Hassan is the definition of gnarly.
Someone put out a little part recently, and it had the song from omar and Judd's part from foundation - art bars.

So many fallen soldiers in there, so good to see them all, RIP DORFUS 🇦🇺
I love you Thrasher. And I miss Jake.
so many legends in this video, some aren't here today unfortunately, but the memories and footy lives on as always
who else wishes they could go back to the 90's?
🙌🙌

i remember always seeing brent atchley skate in seattle wehn i was a kid that dude probably the steeeziest stance and always kept his feet in stance at all times
So many childhood heroes. But where TF is Matt Beach!
I heard from his friend he doesn't skate now...
Way to many Burnside OG's left out of this, but it was still fun to watch...
About 18 years ago on Christmas day, which would have been about 2002 I remember skating Burnside with Germ and a bunch of locals for hours that morning. 4EVER BURNSIDE 🛹

Best skating I've seen all year!
Solid video, great skateboarding! Also mad props to the dude droppin' in with the beer. Cheers!
This park is my favorite because it rains constantly in Portland so being under the bridge its a great spot to stay dry and skate
The original DIY. 30 years!? Crazy.
2:59 for Mike Davis ❤️
I remember when I went to Burnside in January of this year, there was a very ungrateful man who did not let me look or take pictures of the skatepark, he yelled at me several times it was very uncomfortable (I've been skateboarding for 16 years)
og shit
wouldn't let you? it's a public space, he can't stop you from taking pictures. just tell him to F-off and then go ahead and take those pics
unless you were riding a scooter. in that case I would side with the man yelling at you to GTFO
Do you skate ?
@@portlandgoose4727 haha I hate Scooters,
I've been skateboarding for 16 years
Not nearly enough footage, more please!!!
Went there in 1993 with toothless Germ aka buttdrop Germ. Slept in the big bowl and got served often. Long live the legends. Happy anniversary and here's to hopefully 30 more!
you’d think they have more that just 6 mins out of 30 years
Monk actually has some bars dude that song was perfect. Delorian fakie rock at the end was tight, Burnside is a national monument and will be protected as a sacred site. RIP to all casualties of skate army.

Just as I remember it from tony hawks game
Brent atchley...alan peterson...jesse paez...and evan smith. Killazzzzz
Here's to 30 more Burnside!
The craziest thing to me about skating burnside is just seeing some shit you didn’t even think was possible go down on a random Tuesday.
Loved the article in the mag 👍
Burnside has an energy to it, even when its empty and raining.

Use to have a job right next to Burnside and would hit it up before all my shifts. Fuck I miss that job...
Derek still rips the bridge to this day
At 5:00 - 5:01, lol, that's not Mason Silva. It shows him a few seconds later, tho...😂
