Just came back from google this sht is hilarious “My 7 year old wanted to skate the park because he had heard it was cool. The old man skating there was an ahole to him. Will never recommend this place” and “Brought my boy, couldnt ride, sadly, it aint a place for scooters. Coulda done without the smell of piss, too.”
I've skated it and totally respect all these guys. But at the same time, after skating it I can say if you're just an average skater, it wasn't all that great. You have to be really good to skate here
I believe it. When I went there were so many junkies up above that wall where people drop in from right under the bridge. Just shooting up dope like nobody could see them. It was like a whole gang of them lol
that's because portland is filled with people named Scragley or Dirt or Toejam and they all live in some nasty run down punk house in alberta or some shit
Someone put out a little part recently, and it had the song from omar and Judd's part from foundation - art bars. I'm a bit older now and that video must have been made in 2000. Just using that song in a modern part brought me so much nostalgia I cant even explain how fired up it got me.
i remember always seeing brent atchley skate in seattle wehn i was a kid that dude probably the steeeziest stance and always kept his feet in stance at all times
In the early ‘90s I delivered produce multiple times a week to Pacific Coast Fruit Co., which is right across the street from the park. I got to watch those guys build that park. They worked a bit here and there, and the police let them work, which was really cool. The craziest part was seeing them build frames and pour concrete. Burnside should be a protected landmark.
I remember when I went to Burnside in January of this year, there was a very ungrateful man who did not let me look or take pictures of the skatepark, he yelled at me several times it was very uncomfortable (I've been skateboarding for 16 years)
Went there in 1993 with toothless Germ aka buttdrop Germ. Slept in the big bowl and got served often. Long live the legends. Happy anniversary and here's to hopefully 30 more!
damn this was a great watch, although that one guy attempting that gnarly rolling drop in over and over again was a bit much for my weak stomach. like seriously. thats insane. good insane. but definitely completely insane, lol.
R.I.P. Ross Island Sand & Gravel Co if it wasn't for their crazy truck drivers dropping off left over concrete at the end of the work day this place would have never gotten as big as it is.
Its funny how skaters made this diy park and it was pretty small when they started and it developed into this huge park so fast just from skaters talking about this spot and building it up more and more and the city wanted to take this skatepark down so many times and they couldnt cuz the skatepark is built into the foundation of the overpass that they gave up taking it down and had the audacity later to make it a real skatepark for the city so they can tax people. This skatepark has been thru a lot and its soo good that us skaters made this all happen.
One of my favorite parts of Burnside is the Google reviews from scooter moms who attempted to bring kids there
omg didnt know that was a thing, JENKEM should get on it
I need to check this out. Away to google it now..

Who is this mystery old man that keeps shouting at people? Another comment mentions him.

my dad skated there when he was young.
proud to be from this city
When I was in 3rd grade my dad took me to skate this park, and there was an enormous shit in the middle of one of the bowls. I will never forget that.

That wasn't in the Tony Hawk's game lol

Was waiting 6 minutes for the Raybourn clip
Totally
Ben Raybourn ending! Squad
I hope he's doing alright. Only one clip that I know of in the past 3 years or so. That walkway clip was so gnarly.
he finessed the shuit outta that drop
I was gonna be angry if they didnt have Raven clips. They pulled through though. Brent Atchley is always a treat too.
Learned to drop in there back in 94. It’s so much more gnarly than it looks.
Anyone who comes from the top of the wall is a true madman, that shits a suicide mission
Lol shot already looks hectic as fuck can’t imagine in person
@@gaberioux6244 you're toes tingle standing up there...I skate there weekly
Fellow portlanders will let you know how much crazier the park is in person too!
I'm assuming by now the bowls are overflowing with used needles
Omar Hassan is the definition of gnarly.

"What's the gnarliest place you've ever skated?"
"It's gotta be Burnside"
So many fallen soldiers in there, so good to see them all, RIP DORFUS 🇦🇺

Just took me back to being a kid. RIP all the legends. Wish yall could of been there but I know in a way y'all were right there chilling🙏🏻
Is there such a thing as too many bangers?
nope🔨🔨🔨
Way to many Burnside OG's left out of this, but it was still fun to watch...
This park is my favorite because it rains constantly in Portland so being under the bridge its a great spot to stay dry and skate
The original DIY. 30 years!? Crazy.
Just as I remember it from tony hawks game
4:49 has anyone else ever done that gap? Crazy!
I remember when I went to Burnside in January of this year, there was a very ungrateful man who did not let me look or take pictures of the skatepark, he yelled at me several times it was very uncomfortable (I've been skateboarding for 16 years)
og shit
wouldn't let you? it's a public space, he can't stop you from taking pictures. just tell him to F-off and then go ahead and take those pics
unless you were riding a scooter. in that case I would side with the man yelling at you to GTFO
Do you skate ?
@@portlandgoose4727 haha I hate Scooters,
