I have completed all the chapters of history except ww1, rise of dictatorship and ww2. For civics I have done union parliament, Supreme Court and high court. I struggle with history because even though I do remember the story and the logic behind civics, but I just don't understand how to frame the answers well. That's where I lose marks. I'm not very good at rote learning, I already tried and I did not remember anything. Is there any way to remember the points better?
Try to break in points, very small points and Try to remember key words, just key words. ..trust me I also study history just once in a week and I get 90+ even in school exams(which have bad checking compare to boards)...even if you're bad at framing answers then just remember key words (exactly as given in book, avoid using synonym for keywords) and THE whole paragraph in your mother tongue ..(even if you study it once a week but with full concentration you'll score good marks)..and ya, you can't waste too much time here because you have lot of subjects to do like maths, physics, bio,chem and all... ALL THE BEST HOPE IT HELPS

Well just read the main parts that is stick to the icse syllabus and put special focus on contemporary world (2 qs from there so..) and study any two parts of civics (like you could choose judiciary and pm and cabinet). Pratice 10 yrs and you can study chs like gandhi and revoltvof 1857 . If possible practice pre boards papers of good schools..

Hello brother, I'm am also a topper since my childhood. Although I'm in class 9th, I can tell you my ways to memorize anything faster and retain it for longer period. 1. Before start learning, just sit in a cross legged position and chant "OM" for five minutes, focus on your voice. 2. Read what you want to learn, and understand it's meaning word to word. 3. Break a long answer into 2-3 parts and learn them one by one. 4. After you have done all these things, repeat it 8-10 times loudly(pretending to teach someone). 5. You have learned the answer. Precautions :- Make sure you have read the chapter and understand it well. It will help you a lot while memorizing.
Dii do you have any strategy like for section B, some selected chapters that we can study in detail? instead of the whole syllabus. I know we have to study whole syllabus for section A tho.
first 4 chapters of indian history se you get 1 question, world history se 2 questions. studing that properly will give you your 3 quesions in history. union parliament and the 3 chapters of judiary come every year. that will give you 2 questions from civics. it is enough to get you 90+ in boards.
