Years ago I took free dance lessons at a local bar and grill for the fun of it as a hobby. I got divorced and wanted some exercise in my life. It was such a blast learn from Ms. Doris, an elderly lady who had such high spirit, she motivated all of us young and old. It quickly became more than a hobby, it was a habit. I went from Tuesday night dance lessons to dancing 3nights a week. I sure do miss dancing that the other night I told myself it’s time to declutter the back porch and organize it to make dancing room.

I agree with you 100%! After my divorce I learned to dance, nothing formal, just following my dance partner, went from one night a week to six! Thirty hours a week, I just loved it! Sadly my favorite club closed, others didn’t measure up so I quit going, but I do miss it so much!

You should consider line dancing. It's a fabulously supportive community and requires no partner. Your ballroom dance background will all come back since it is many of the same steps. Have fun dancing!

As a 74 year old senior who is alone, this is great!!! I had forgotten all about line dancing , so thank you!!! Now I will use it as a warm up and have fun before getting into the rest of my exercising and the 2 days a week I do weight lifting. Thank you for taking the time to think through how to help us learn new dance steps easily! You are a blessings!

Thank you so much for this video. I'm 61 and have been to many weddings but never knew how to do this dance. I would just sit down when people got on the floor to do the electric slide. But that is usually a dance that lasts a while because people love it. So now I don't have to just sit there and watch. I can do it, too !!! 🧡🧡

We are a group of friends in our 60's and 70's. We meet in different places to dance to live bands. When the band takes a break and the DJ starts playing his music we do the electric slide to many different songs. We also do it to salsa and merengue. Billie Jean is one of our favorites to dance to. It's a great workout. Your video is great for teaching it.

Dance is such a wonderful sport and releases feel good endorphins. I learnt social Ballroom dancing as a teenager. My school friend and I would occasionally go to Saturday Night dances with my parents. Being young and having no boyfriends, my friend and I would dance together. As time progressed we would find ourselves the only ones dancing on occassion which meant we were doing dance displays. Quiet amusing. We loved it. We soon discovered the oldies were only going out for the social get together of talking and simply shuffling around the dance floor. The plus side for me is I use to make all my dresses for those Saturday nights out. If only we could go back to those great Social Saturday Dances. Naturally it came to a stop when I met the man I ended up marrying. I soon learnt he didn't have my enthusiasm for dance. Not much fun going out on a Saturday night if your boyfriend virtually sat around all night not dancing. There were always some single guys at our church Saturday night dances.
