Damn! I love country! I wish I know how to dance better. I'm learning the steps of country slide dance lol. Since I was 8 years old I liked country. Most beautiful country
this is by far the best step by step instruction for line dancing. I love the fact that it's just the instructor and not a whole lot of people. thank you thank you thank you.
Super good teacher. The split screen is a big help. And another good thing is that she "calls out" the step to be doing. She should have this video shared!
She does a great job of demonstrating this form of dancing when the music starts up it makes you want to get On your feet and start doing it immediately I am very excited about learning the steps and doing the electric slide I am one tenant in a huge senior citizen complex I am trying to encourage boy dancing this might be the ancer 👍😎
I am a senior citizen just started first lesson this week, managed to find you video and web site on line luckily. The way you instruct is nice and easy, you then do a small routine linking a few steps together which gives the learner time to get their timing and feet right just great, gives me hope. Don’t get me wrong the dance teacher is very good but when you are in a crowd you feel self-conscious, this way you can get used to the steps in your own home.
I've watched several videos of this because I want to teach my 95 year old mother how to do this, I try to find little exercise things for us to do, and realized this would be good because it is gentle and she should be able to do this.. I am a musician and have a dance background... NO ONE mentions that the "slide" is an extra two beats!!! It's like its a SECRET... no one mentions the count! LOL If you know it's an extra one-two, and then you go back to start with four again... that helps clarify what is going on... if you think everything is a four count you get lost! This is one of the best videos I've seen because you start out very slowly, and you demonstrate slowly to let people do it with you and learn. Thank you.
This took me a while to learn, but I never got tired of watching your friendly video and replaying all the step breakdowns. Now it's second nature to me! Thank you!
thanks so much, I've gone a few times to a Line Dance group near me with a friend. But they are not beginners, so me & my friends lost it by the time they turn, etc. This is exact dance I found that they do... here in UK. found it first time today! I AM SO GLAD & THANK U. I WILL PRACTICE IT. my friend stopped going because she could not keep up & of course I had to stop as needed her company (as the others have been going for yrs & are familiar with steps). Mona
Have a trip to Dallas coming up with a friend who has her heart set on dancing at a club. This terrified me as I have two left feet. But the confidence has gotten a boost working through your vids. I may even surprise my friend, she has no idea I've been practicing. Thank you.
Hi Donna, I really wants to thank you as for two practice watching you i learn fast and enjoyable. I hope i can find some more of your dance. I downloaded some others same dance but I couldn't learn and so hard to fellow, but with you i keep going back and finally got it. Thanking you so much. Cristy
Good job of building up from the basic steps. Like the turns as well on the end for some flare. One of my favorite things is to do some of the simple line dances (such as Electric Slide) as a couple. Two ways to do it. Mirrored - Girl dances normally, The guy dances exactly backwards. Standard dance position, guy dances vine left, vine right, forward (turn the girl outside if wanted) I call the single forward/back the Fake. Do that together then scuff turn to the left repeat...The other way is a bit more tricky. Girl has to take TINY steps. Guy dances around her. Sweetheart position, guy dances big steps behind and right of girl shifting sweetheart from right side to left side. Then back big steps because you must get left of her before the back steps. Can turn her on the way back. Looks good but requires some dance floor space.
Very nice. I'm going to try it and hope that it'll help me with my balancing (eventually)It's at a nice, slow pace. Thanks for sharing this with us :-)
I just moved to the country, and I’m going to prom at my school , BUT I didn’t know they do line dancing .-. Thank u sm hopefully I can (decently) do this before prom 😬
Thank you❤️ so very much❤️ You are a heaven sent! I'm learning that dance steps from you❤️ Even though it is not a Marcia Griffith song God bless❤️ 🙂 😘😘😘
Geeeze, of all the videos I've watched, this one is the best! Thanks for keeping it simple and giving us real examples unlike the other idiot videos adding extra stuff!
Yours is by far the best explanatory video of Electric Slide. I teach line dancing to a group of "seniors" and when they struggle, I always refer them to your video. What is the song you are dancing to?
Thank you so much, Mary. The song is an original song that my band wrote specifically for my DVD so I could use music with no words, easier to teach with.
Can this only be done to 2 beats per bar music (or 4 beats per bar where the 1 and 3 are nearly equally accentuated)? The transition - step, scoot - is 2 counts, but everything else is in 4-count sections. So you're counting 1234 1234 1234 1234 12 and then repeat 1234 1234 1234 1234 12. Does that 2-count move throw you off some 4/4 music?
You can change the last 4 count section to "rock forward on you right, step back left, rock forward on right, scuff left". That is a variation a lot of people like because it flows nicely with 4/4 music.
Damn! I love country! I wish I know how to dance better. I'm learning the steps of country slide dance lol. Since I was 8 years old I liked country. Most beautiful country
