Many of the scenes in this video was shot in my home town of Hartsville, TN. Our Fire Dept had actually been working a fire not 100yrs from where this was shot. A block of town burned that night and our and other county departments were still working the fire while they were shooting this. It was my first call out as a volunteer fireman. Sammy is a great guy and called caterers to feed even us still across the creek working an actual fire. Never forget that one night in that long 48hr shift.
Sammy did not get the recognition he deserved. Some of the best country songs every written or sung. I plan to leave the next generations with copies of his music.

You took pictures with us and gave autographs. II saw you first at Bessie's Boat House in Va. Before that. Then I went to the Raleigh,NC State Fair just to see you again after that. You sang I Buy Her Roses and I got the sweetest smile from you. We sat to the left of the stage within a few feet of you and the band. My best friend Elaine Evans brought me. @Sammy Kershaw sadly, no. Now that I have children, there's always either enough time or money - never both at once. 😂 I worked on the "Nashville" sets off of Brick Church Pike. I passed the Broken Spoke every day getting on the interstate, so naturally this song always started off my commute home. Filming ended 5 years ago, but this is still my go-to when I get in the car.
