    Gosh, when you said “I just want to go sleep.” I feel this so much! After a shower with my little guy and then getting him ready for bed I leak everywhere then have to sit and pump until empty before I can go sleep. Mothers are just amazing.. our bodies are just an amazing thing. Thank you for your videos 💜

    So Happy to have found your video. Watched it twice. I am kind of of over supplier pumping since thr beginning 3-4 time a day producing up to 50 oz. Today after I realized how much the freezer I bought is packed and my baby is only 8 weeks I felt overwhelmed. I wanted to diminish my supplies and only pump 2 times ⏲️. So your video helps a lot

    Thank you for clarifying about having an oversupply and that your pumping output was not average. I think people can glorify an oversupply or aim for unrealistic goals. As a low supply mom I appreciate you sharing facts.

      And I only make enough for half of the day :( I had an oversupply only on one side of my breast it was so bad that I had to keep feeding my baby and pumping I can't imagine this woman pumping 30 Oz

    • @MommaAlia

      I don't think it gets said enough about oversupply not being normal. And with social media it's easy to compare yourself to what others are doing or making, especially when they don't say that it isn't common!

    My baby is almost 2 months and i got a nasty case of mastitis and had fever for over a week...i got through it and now i decided to try to wean off because i keep getting clogs too and even if my goal was 3 to 6 months i cant do the not sleeping and pumping every 3 hours. It seems like this is going to take forever to stop pumping but like someone said on here im happy but also sad because my baby will not have my milk because im giving up but i cant go on without sleep and i do not want another infection.

      Two months is an amazing accomplishment! Of course it’s normal to grieve that your breastfeeding journey didn’t go as planned. So many other moms, including myself, have been there too. Healthy and happy momma needs to come first! That’s why formula is great. It allows babe to get the nutrients they need and mom do what is best for herself. Congrats on 2 months momma and I hope weaning goes well!

    I’ve barely started this video, but I already have to comment to say that this is exactly the type of commentary that I’ve been searching for. I’ve been exclusively pumping for my firstborn, baby girl, for 6.5 months. Just found out that I’m pregnant with baby #2 and, although I was already planning to stop pumping for my daughter soon, now I’m even more eager to stop, so that I’ve time without pumping between kids. Currently in the process of dropping down to 3 pumps, with an oversupply. I’ve always had an oversupply compared to the amount she eats per day.
    Okay, now I continue watching the video!

    This video was so helpful. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences and perspective. I too am prone to clogs and have gotten mastitis three times. All signs that my body was not ready to wean. Though as I reach my 1 year exclusively pumping milestone I’ve started to notice a change in my supply. I’m less engorged and am working towards eliminating my middle of the night pump.

I’m preparing for the future when I’m going to wean off and it’s terrifying to me, but I’m sure I’ll be tempted to get it over with quicker too. You’re a champion for doing it so long, I’m only on month 6 now

    I know this video is a few years old, but I found it very useful and helpful! Im currently a month into weaning from a huge oversupply, and getting increasingly frustrated with my body not getting the message. It keeps trying to bring my supply back up when I drop a pump 😵‍💫 I guess I was just pushing too hard and fast, so I am going to try and be more patient with myself. At 2ppd right now and feeling stuck, so hopefully my body will eventually start bringing my supply down instead of up 🙃

    Thank you so much for this video! I have an oversupply, too and this video was so encouraging. I was really starting to feel like I would be pumping forever. Haha. Question: How long did it take you from doing 2 pumps per day to get to the point where you weren't pumping or hand expressing? (I hope that makes sense) AND kind of a weird question: My boobs have gotten so big that they kill my back! How long did it take your boobs to go back to their normal size? Thanks again for this super helpful and encouraging video! I look forward to more videos from you! :)

    • @MommaAlia
      @MommaAlia  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re so welcome momma! That’s exactly why I make these videos!! It took around 1.5 months, a little more maybe if I’m remembering my timeline correctly. It definitely took awhile. There’s a good chance your boobs won’t go back to prepregnancy size but mine have gone down significantly! It wasn’t until I got to that hand expression phase that I noticed a size difference and it’s only gone down a little more since weaning completely🙂

      Take it slow momma! I know it’s the last thing you wanna do when you decide to wean but it was crucial for me. I tried to rush it and it prolonged things so much more. It took around 3 months for me to completely wean!

    I am working on weaning now. My baby is 10 months and I am an oversupplier too. I have weaned already from about 80opd to now around 50 opd. Since I work, pumping after 1 year is not going to be possible during the workday. I have found it to be very emotional and I am feeling not quite ready but am also looking forward to it. TY for the information. I am prone to clogs too so I know I need to take it slow.

    Another great video 😊 Just wondering how long it took you last time to dry up entirely? I had a huge oversupply and weaned 4 months ago, but I’m still leaking milk in the shower and still have milk in my breasts. It’s not really an issue but I just really want my boobs to be my own again!! Thanks for your videos!

    • @MommaAlia
      @MommaAlia  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!! With Sophie it took me two months to stop leaking after I was weaned from pumping. But I was also pregnant with Remi so I think that had a lot to do with it. I'm still able to get milk out so I think it's gonna take a while this time! I'm happy to help(:

    Currently trying to fix my over supply with my son because I’m so miserable. I got mastitis from trying to do it too quickly. It’s so miserable. • @anatavarez1005

    You did a great job weaning! I suffer with an oversupply as well (not as bad as yours was) but it’s still pretty bad, especially in the morning.
    I don’t have an issue with my right breast making too much, it actually makes just the right amount. But my left breast produces double the amount of the right and it’s ALWAYS engorged when I wake up. I’ll make 11oz from the left and 5oz from the right.
    How can I lower the amount I produce in the morning?
    Throughout the day, my right will make 5-7oz and my left will make 2-3oz and that’s every 4hrs.
    I just absolutely hate waking up in pain.
    If like to start the process of weaning but I’m also afraid.

    • @MommaAlia
      @MommaAlia  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sorry to hear that momma! It sounds like trying not to empty completely in the morning may be the best bet. So when you go to pump that side in the morning stop about 5-10 minutes earlier than when you normally do. That way there’s no a ton of milk in your breast making you uncomfortable shortly after but also enough where after a week or two you should see a decrease in supply!

    • @anatavarez1005
      @anatavarez1005 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Momma Alia Thanks, I will try that! Do you think if I’m only getting out 6oz in the morning, I won’t get a clogged duct? Luckily, I haven’t had one for a few months now.

    Great video!! I have a very large oversupply right now at 8 weeks postpartum. This is my fourth baby and I’ve had a huge oversupply with my others too - however I was nursing, so things were a little different.
    I’m currently producing around 60-70 ounces a day and typically it increases an ounce or two each day. Should I still be pumping every 2-3 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night? I’m nervous to cut anything out too soon while my supply is still regulating and then end up underproducing. Your videos have been SO helpful in this journey!

I’ve been weaning for over a week now smh. And I’ve had mastitis twice with my second child and with my third once. So I’m so worried to fully wean smh. Any tips? Big hugs momma🤍 everything you’re saying reminds me so much like when I tried to wean after Remi. It was such a long and emotionally exhausting process. All I can say that helped me was taking it so very slow. Like so slow you almost think it isn’t going to help in anyway. Any time I tried to rush the process or cut any more than 2 minutes from a pump session I got the nastiest clogs. If you’ve tried for a long time or you need to wean quicker, your obgyn may be able to prescribe you something to help! I hope this gets easier🤍🤍
