I've met a lot of friendly helpful people announcing flow tree locations and sometimes even pallium nodes in bahari bay. With rehards to playing with friends, i often get put into shards with people on my friendlist. Then when you mentioned you wished you could go to friends' plots via a signboard in your plot, that's exactly how it already works now. 😅

Hi @oliverong3753! The signboard on your plot only allows you to visit people you have in your friends list, what I meant was that the signboard could also show a list of people who are not necessarily on your friends list but who want visitors / want to share their plot and, or, housing design. This would allow players to discover each other, as well as cool housing / plot designs.

I agree on several of your points. Palia isn't an actual MMO per se. And it is addictive! I think it is the background music, "Play more Palia, you need to play Palia, Palia, Palia..."
I do enjoy the game. I haven't quite gotten the hang of the fishing game, and the cooking on the stove is driving me bats...but I'm having fun foraging, hunting, and working in the garden. Your right, this is a niche game, and I like it!

In terms of bug catching in a group it works. Instead of throwing 3 smoke bombs as one person you can just each throw one in a party of 3 and all will be able to loot the bug. Even the 1 smoke criters can be shared by the other party members just by throwing smoke bombs on the bug at the same time.

The 8 hour wait is so funny to hear about. I remember doing it and I was so indifferent and was like "sure". But I've seen people ask to skip and now heard it was a 'quit moment'. Like what you want the house for so bad, I remember running around catching bugs and having a good ass time and the next day I just put what was in my tent into my house, they act the same so I don't get what the house is

Ok maybe I was a bit overly dramatic, but I really enjoy housing in games and I was super excited to get my house, furnish it and just sit around and enjoy it while I wait for my crops to grow…. but then I learned that we can’t sit or interact with objects 💔

For w/e reason, it didn't feel like I had to "wait" on the house. Yes, I still totally had the ~9hr timer, but I had other things to do in game. Can't remember if it was quests or just personal goals. Having said that, 9hrs seems excessive and I can definitely see it being a "wait" moment.

Good video, I think I agree with most things here, especially not being able to interact with objects (you should be able to sleep in bed to slowly gain focus while you wait on crafters for example) and the game being kind of terrible at giving you a sense of direction. I slightly disagree about which direction (social game vs life sim) it should go - I'd like to see it get more content in both directions! One thing I'd love to see added would be social events. Other games might call this a "raid", but imagine you see pop up for an event "Hog Wild" where a giant pig is threatening the town and you have to use your cooking skills to feed it enough to go away, or "Bug Swarm" where you use bug catching to stop a swarm or w/e.

Regenerating focus while sleeping is an awesome idea! I can also totally see an insect swarm world event happening, that would be fun!

Agree with you about the house quest and with the emphasis on building it, it’s then a shame you can’t sit down inside it to enjoy. Also agree about the Shepp quest - I’m basically ignoring it and just focusing on naturally levelling relationships. By the way, it would be nice to hear your voice rather than AI speech which jars at times.

Same, I keep unpinning the Shep quest but it keeps repinning itself. Have you chosen who you want as your Shep yet?
I'm torn between Ashura and Badruu :|

I am kind of addicted to fishing (level 9). Like that you can get different fish at different times and locations. I would like a spyglass or something so I can see what bug it is before I try to catch it. You need specific bugs for the collect every bug and need some for missions. I'm not an expert at seeing which bug is different. Working on the vampire crab, so need to know which crab is which before they spot me!

What are you throwing so many smoke bombs for, the bug is stunned, it won't do anything before it either gets pickupable or starts moving again, no wonder you don't like having smoke bombs around, 1 stack isn't enough to catch 5 if you do it like that 😭😭😭😭

    • @AlyssAstra
      @AlyssAstra  ปีที่แล้ว

      Fair point 😅
I assumed the 💢 meant that the bugs were annoyed, not stunned 🙄

FFXIV literally has cross play between servers, there'd be more if the infrastructure was able to do it even. Servers only serve to limit who you play with and force people to pay for server transfers if they get a new friend to play with. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I don't think I've heard of anyone actually wanting to gate a community *more* because you're what? Proud to be in one server over another? Is it because someone on the server has some huge accomplishment and you're like "you've heard of the top raiders in ravenholm, yeah, that's me, not one of them, but a player in their server 😎"

It’s not so much about about knowing who the top raider is on the server as it is about seeing the same names and faces around the main hub. e.g. in FFXIV if I see a pink Hrothgar in a golden maid outfit dancing in Limsa every day for two months and then suddenly they’re not there I would be worried about them and winder where they are even though I never spoke to them. Idk, it could just be me being an introvert but seeing the same names and faces around town makes me feel happy, and I guess cozy in a way.
FFXIV handles servers really well imo where you have the core server community, but if you want to, you are free to hop onto a different server or data center to play with friends/go to parties/mingle.
