It’s not a MMO it’s a MO. Now to define the two first MMO is a game where there’s 1000’s of players playing in the same area and interacting with each other at the same time. While a MO is multiplayer online and usually is 100 players or less on a server at a time. Good example of MMO are Ultima online during its peak in 1997 and per server would have 5000 players on a single server at one given time ( now with it being old can’t be considered MMO with so few players) WoW is another and just to break the genre of rpgs, Boundless which is like Minecraft is also a MMO with few thousand players all on the same server. Now a MO is plenty of games from Stardew of up to 4 players to combat games like Fortnite. They have players playing at the same time but they are not a massive amount of players at the exact same time. How ever the game uses the term MMO cause it is a term known and attracts players who enjoy MMO. It’s more ore less click bait by the developers.
