Recommendations 5:37 Mount the 4 screw console bracket to the console first. Then mounting the console is an easy one person operation just sliding the long hardware through the pivot. 14:25 Mount the adjustment handle ‘before’ mounting the seat. It is easier to get to the 4mm hardware screws.
My 290 seat does not lock in place and the whole seat unit rocks back and forth. Did I install the adjustment lever wrong? It looks correct. The bolts were 6mm not 4 as in the directions.
I was able to get the lever to lock the seat unit in place by standing over it rather than from a seated position. I got on the bike, positioned myself with proper leg angle, then got up and pushed down on the lever from above it. Huge difference. I believe it will lock/unlock now even from the seated position, but I’m the only person to use it, so I just leave it locked as-is. Hope that helps.
@@robgrassi790 We tried standing but we couldn’t push it down to lock it, maybe we have to unscrew and screw back everything again and see if it works. Thank you for helping though!
I did do that too before the standing position worked. Not sure why/if that helped. As much as it’s dreaded, you might have to go the customer service route. Good luck.

I wish I looked at the comments before mounting the seat
Should I bother reading the manual first or only watch the assembly video?
I just finished assembling my bike with the tips you gave. Thanks for the advice
@@manisdogfish just use the video.

I am having the same problem… Were you able to fix it?
