I can't thank you enough for making this video, this video is one of the most important video ever on TH-cam and I think everyone must watch it. thank you again and love you so much.
This comment has me in tears. I appreciate your message so much. I want to show people what CAN happen but also that its definitely avoidable. Hopefully, I can reach more and more people the more I tell the story. much love to you too!
Karolina, I finally got my diabetes under control but a couple years after, I developed what they call Charcot's foot. It's where all the bones in your foot start shifting. The doctor said that it developed because of all the high blood sugars previously, had done the damage. First one foot then the other. On the first foot, the doctor had me stay off the foot for 8 weeks, no weight. The symptoms were my foot was hot to the touch, red and there was swelling. She told me that standard procedure is to put a cast on the foot but she said that even walking on it with a cast will cause the foot to shape improperly so I just had to stay off of it. It healed okay and still looks like a foot. When the symptoms began on the other foot, I went right away to a different doctor who then put me into a walking cast. I was in a cast for 3 months. All the bones shifted and I can no longer wear heels or nice shoes, rarely wear dresses as they don't look good with tennis shoes. 😭😭 I was a fashionista and now well it just hurts that I can't dress up either. So I totally understand how you feel. You ever want to talk, I'm here for you. I'm an insulin dependent diabetic 2. I have managed to bring my A1C down to 6.3. I use the Omnipod pump system. I too control my diabetes with fasting and carb counting and just giving up all the food that I loved too easily before. Just not worth the high sugars and risking complications. I've developed gastroparesis so food is no longer my friend. I only eat to live now and only when I'm hungry. May the Lord bless you for being brave and sharing your story. 💜
@@jacknap6745 wow! I didn't even know I had any kind of channel. Í was diagnosed as a diabetic new years 2005. I should have been in a coma and died. My sugars were so high they didn't even register on the doctors meter. They put me in the hospital and thus began my journey in learning how to live with this disease.
Stay strong/well - I appreciate you sharing your story. T1D for 22 years here - I’m fortunate enough to have had somewhat better luck but it’s been far from perfect.
that's great! There are definitely many things I would have done differently. T1D is a struggle every day regardless of complications! there is so much to pay attention to and keep track of.
Thisssss 5+years ago my A1C was up to 12, my numbers were wild! 2020 started my vitreous hemorrhages. 1 eye, then a year later the other eye. Waiting for my 2nd surgery in a few weeks. Loved your vitrectomy videos! I had a full week face down for my l eye. And I absolutely have trouble with my peripherals under as well
Love your sharing here!!!! But, could you increase your insulin if aic was 15.1??? Were you on top of your blood sugar daily? I have similar problems as you, so I can relate!!! Can you keep us updated? thanks
I remember that you were doing keto at one point, have you still been doing it? I also believe you can reverse the kidney disease- I am SO happy you were able to reverse this!!!
Not at the moment b ut I LOVE keep and I still stand by keto with intermittent fasting. At the moment, its not the best thing my body needs. Ive been seeing a dietitian and she has me on a 160 carbs/a day diet and its been great! its also very kidney friendly.
@@KarolinaSays our bodies definitely have different needs at different phases. This disease is just…. It’s a lot. I’m happy to see you here, you encourage us so much ❤️
Type 2 here, almost became an amputee but antibiotics saved it from happening. I still lost the bone in my left pinky toe so I get the phantom sensations and my pinky seems to be pointing up for some odd reason. And lost a small chunk of my right calf too. Having trouble straightening out the knee in my right leg too. It's gotten better now though.
Antibiotics are amazing but they can also really wear down the body. At the end of the day its just choosing our battles! Yes, its definitely an adjustment after an amputation or a surgery like yours, the body has to adjust. Im sure with stretches and gentle yoga, your knee will get better! best of luck to you!
p.s - you really should go and make talks around social media so people will understand how hard it is and put more pressure on drug companies and the government find a cure - and not use us as $$ machine

@@KarolinaSays I don't see what use it can do when that pinky toe bone is already gone. It's like keeping it just for cosmetics.
I'm going through the same things.. can I ask you, how did you feel safe to get pregnant? I feel like if I'll get pregnant I might go blind...
