Great! I also own this pair of GPS receivers but haven't had time to experiment yet... Your video is very useful as "getting started". I'm looking forward to the next ones :)
hello, thanks for the great video, I have a question have you tried the UM980 module with Galileo HAS? I wanted to use a Pixhawk 2 black cube to have PPP-RTK corrections. Thanks in advance
I don't have an Android phone, but I managed to connect my iPhone using a UART Bluetooth bridge. I'll make a video on it eventually, so stay tuned! In the meantime, don't forget to like and subscribe so you don't miss it.
I plan to purchase UM980. Which one would you suggest? I've heard there is a heat problem with the one from AliExpress. Any problems with your UM980 GNSS module? Thanks
Thanks again for the video it is very helpful. I think I am having the same issue that you did with the pigtail. When I run Version I get: VERSION,98,GPS,UNKNOWN verses FINE? Is there a trouble shooting resource besides the 300+ page PDF? I couldn't find anything in it that addresses this issue.
The "UNKNOWN" indicates that the module has not calculated the GPS time, likely due to no satellite data. Do yourself a favor and purchase some high-quality pigtail connectors. Google: "MMCX to SMA Female"
At the beginning of the summer, firmware for the um980 was released, which has this feature. The activation command is in the instructions for the modules.
I believe there is a misunderstanding regarding the command. In the command: `mode base time 60 2 2.5`: `60` is the time in seconds that all fixes obtained by the UM982 must remain within an area of horizontal and vertical precision. `2` is the horizontal precision in meters that all fixes must meet to declare the survey complete. `2.5` is the vertical precision required for all fixes to complete the survey. If the previously saved position is within these ranges, the station coordinates stored in flash memory will be used; otherwise, the position in flash memory will be updated. By the way, a 1mm precision in positioning is unrealistic.
Thanks for taking some of the magic from this process. It's hard to begin a project without directions like this.
Thank you for sharing.
Cool. I'm working on the next video right now. Let me know when/if you start your setup and how it goes.
Saw your introductory video a couple of weeks back and bought a module myself. Thanks and good work.
Great to hear! I hope to have the Rover video up over the weekend. Let me know how it goes.
Great!

Glad it was helpful!
Well done ! Please do a video showing the dual NTRIP.
coming soon

I have and it works. I plan to do a video on it soon
Thanks man for great information my question is can we connect it to android phone by adapter?

pero donde puedo meter las coordenadas de un punto de post proceso, o punto post procesado?
thank you a lot for sharing and explain it. Congratulations¡¡¡ Good work¡¡
You are welcome!
Thank you, very intreresting
Glad you enjoyed it
Amigo este método aplica si la antena tiene radio lora o solo ntrip ?

None. Also, this is the only one I tested, so no suggestions otherwise.

@@oceanexplorationlab Thanks! I will.
Hello, your video is very good, congratulations on the tutorials. Can you tell me how to activate the GNSS um980 in ppp mode E6-Has?
108 / 5,000
I haven't figured out the PPP myself jet. But when I do I plan to make a tutorial. Thanks for the suggestion

next this config with GNGSV 1 i cant see satellites on constellation map
this is the commands launched
freset
config signalgroup 2
mode base 60 2 2 5
GNGSV 1
unlog
rtcm1005 30
rtcm1033 30
rtcm1077 1
rtcm1087 1
rtcm1097 1
rtcm1127 1
saveconfig
i try don't use unlog but the satellite map not working!
you may be missing the GNGGA 1 command
@@oceanexplorationlab thanks
hi , i try mode base 60 2 2 5 but my um980 send message "fixed position is not correct" , need to put: mode base time 60 2 2 5 ?
next send:MODE BASE TIME 60 the message is disappeared
mode base 60 2 2 5 is wrong conf! the correct conf is: mode base time 60 2 2.5
i want more of 2m of precision is possible put 1mm? like mode base time 60 0.001 2.5

@@oceanexplorationlab why is centimetric precision? in the datasheet tell of 0.8cm
