Beautiful, haunting song! Yes, this is from her first dark Christmas album that came out in 2017. Thank you!! The 'black' Tarja represents the Christmas of the poor people and the 'white' Tarja represents the christmas of the rich people.
Black represents all those people who are alone at Christmas and have no one to celebrate with. It is for those people who feel alone, that is why ir is a dark Christmas. The money Is not part of this, its about fellings.
This is her 2nd of 3 Christmas albums. The fitst is her 2006 solo debut in Finnish. This though is her first dark christmas song. She has said Christmas is a darker time with the death of her mother. I do get that. Loss of a parent is hard. Especially close to Christmas. Grieving at a time the world celebrates joy. You can feel even more alone then just the loss caused. If anyone knows someone who is alone please reach out to them. ❤❤
For this first Dark Xmas album by Tarja my favorite song is Deck the Hills (a song we all know) but it is so creepy and wonderful at the same time that I will never be able to listen to the original in the same way again. I recommend it!!
Last several years this has been my go-to Christmas album. And this song in particular has become pretty special because during the lockdowns and all that insanity, this song helped me keep hope. I look back at the first coming of Emmanuel and I look forward to his second coming. Then the corrupt world system will finally be thrown down.
