Totally agree! It really showed in the post case interview. I wouldn’t be shocked if I saw her on a 20/20 episode for poisoning her ex with antifreeze or something, lol.
You obviously have never owned anything. When you lease a place you are only leasing it. It doesn't belong to you. Anything that you damage, you are 100% responsible in replacing it. If someone leases a rennovated apartment or house , why should they eat the cost of fixing the damages that have been caused by the careles tenant???
I would never have a glass top stove again. I bought special cleaners just for it to keep it nice. Rubbish. I cleaned after every use and it still looked awful.
@@Sweetpea1128 I purchased one from Lowe's years ago. I used it one time and it messed up without me doing anything. I called Lowe's the next day after delivery and returned it.
thats why im surprised the judge charged the plaintiff for that because its the nature of that type of stove top coating to start looking like that after a certain number of cleanings and months of use .
I think JM was annoyed because the Defendant made some petty moves. She basically took back over the house before her tenant moved out. Taking over the garage was bad enough but blocking the driveway was intended to obstruct. The Plaintiff was being petty about the lanai. She was moving back in & she had her own power washer, she didn't have to pay for it to be done. I love how the Plaintiff dropped the story about the power washer & the garage door. That Defendant is a Karen.
That Defendant is TOXIC. She pretends there is no problem but she's bitter, critical, judgemental and doesn't want to be held accountable. Her inner ugliness is evident to all. Yeah, the stove was a mess, but she was not a good friend or landlord.
@4:15 Judge became real pissy. She must've had flashbacks to her construction days or got a text off camera. She even realized she was on one when she called the lady up she smiled it off and simmered back down a bit back to her normal.
I have had one for 20 years. If you use the proper scrubber and cleaner and clean up any spills before using the range top again you can keep it looking like new with very little effort.
Its NEVER a tenants job to paint. If you want it back to the original... The landlord has to do it by law. Painting has to be done at least every 3 years.

Damn, I don't like how JM snapped at the plaintiff. Also, the stove top seems to be a cheap one. I scratched my friends glass stove top, right after she moved in and was using a brand new pan. It left circle marks because the appliances were cheap AF, lol! That also wasn't normal wear & tear either.
JM's mood shifted..."You used to spend Christmas and Thanksgiving(together)?!? What happened"... She just showed up for the gossip😂. Also, you've got to admit this case is boring af, no wonder the Judge seems irritated with it.
I think that term gets thrown around way way too much these days. She was a woman/ home owner that was concerned her friend/ tenant was not taking even minimal basic care of her home.
@@heathernichols7472I saw OPs comment before the episode and expected... something bad. I mean, having the dumpster there was more of a dumb thing. If someone did that to my stove and such, I'd expect them to pay as well. Reminder, it was NEW. Guess expecting appropriate care of your stuff is now being a Karen.
I think the landlady was ok being being friends when she had some sort of power over her and as soon as the plaintiff could afford to buy a home in thr same neighborhood no less i think it made the defendant jealous and act petty towards her once friend.
They're both ridiculous. The tenant thinks she can just destroy somebody else's property and the landlord thinks she can charge for stuff that she chose to remain negligent of. Doesn't work like that. They both seem like they're on some pretty hardcore prescription medications.
To me, it looks like she was using cast iron pans on the glass top. Cast iron would leave scratches like what was shown. The last glass top stove I had the instructions specifically stated not to use cast iron on the cook top.
Never understand people's desperate attempt to get appliances rammed into corners where ypu can't open doors properly. I would rather have a mini fridge that opens properly. She seemed so sweet to me!
of course she was creepy , she was a house landlord and most landlords that rent out a house are creepy in some way .
For sure. I’m not sure why the plaintiff was ever friends with her in the first place.
She shouldn't have been able to keep a penny after making the tenant pay for a 25 yr old garage door!
Those are things you have to fight in the moment. That probably would have started an eviction process that the plaintiff would have won on.
You obviously have never owned anything. When you lease a place you are only leasing it. It doesn't belong to you. Anything that you damage, you are 100% responsible in replacing it.
