I just discovered this remarkable parody series today. Diane Morgan's acting is a combination of serious talent and remarkable powers of self control - there's no way I could deliver those lines without bursting out laughing! And that writing! So much genius involved in this production.
Apparently Brooker had the character of Philomena down as a dim posho, but Morgan's interpretation won him over. She really has perfect comic timing. I mean, you can't write lines for interviews like that. The bit about bread sauce and the long pause for Jay Raynor to squirm around in - that was Morgan's natural ability and ad libbing. And the shoplifting - I'm still laughing about that.
