They wouldn't build things of this magnitude in creative. There's no challenge and thus no motivation. What you're seeing here could, in a way, only be done in survival.
What blows me away is how these builders managed to construct this paradise with such secrecy. In 2b2t of all places.

Your inability to imagine it is what they get a kick out of. When you have nothing much to live for, you gotta "spice" things up in your head. The thrill of baffling people like you pings their brain with enough dopamine for them to feel a modicum of life. It's similar to why porn addicts have to watch more and more fucked up videos to get off. And because of a lack of self awareness (imo, at least for a lot of them), they construct some noble philosophy about life, death, and destruction in order for those of them who would feel guilty about it to avoid that dirty conscience that you would have if you griefed something like this.
There is SOME merit to it though. A lot of us enjoy the thrill of building something grand despite the anarchy.
EDIT: Some of what I said here is not truly how I feel but I'm too lazy at the moment to think it through more. Spicing up one's mental environment is the main thing that I believe though.

Actually bedrock patterns in Java repeat the same for the same coords in every seed so patterns in bedrock layout can and have been used to determine coordinates. I'm surprised you don't know this I thought everyone did by now. It's how Chromecrusher found Fitlantis and another build Fit was working on.

You really only need to see a couple chunks worth of y level 5 bedrock to get exact coordinates.

This base is hand down the best base I have ever seen on 2b2t. All the hidden easter eggs - such as the signs about Abode Flash's death (may it rest in peace), the small tribute to Kimi no na wa, the patterns in the sea lantern sky - and all the magnificent build absolutely made my day. Thank you for sharing this Fit.

@@petrurk6835 I believe it has something to do with the source code and being able to track a base's coords using given bedrock formation. I think it was used alot to track streamers and stuff
@@petrurk6835 When Minecraft generates a world, the bedrock never changes. On every Minecraft world the bedrock layer is exactly the same, so people built programs to track various bedrock formations using math. Showing areas of exposed level 5 bedrock can allow anyone to find your exact coords. It's really neat but also kind of scary when you think about it in a 2B2T context

Fit, I love the sinematic tipe of music that you aways choose for those tour videos, it so succesfully puts me in nostalgia, mekas me feel the place and the history of every base even tho I dont play the server, but I'm a huge fan, nice video.
This amazes me, it's like an archeologist discovering a long lost civilization/city, discovering the past residents way of life and architecture, it truly is amazing what this community and enviroment can create.

uh, oh, bedrock patterns are same for coords no matter the seed so showing your base's bedrock can lead to uncovering where it is, the awe of taking this kind of risk is subtly included in this sentence and that's why you might feel a bit weird listening to it.

It's simple; it's called karma. If you cause a war with a bunch of youtuber fans because you're afraid of your servers life being affected, you get your base destroyed.
I mean... that is kind of the point of the server if you ask me. Anything you build has far more value, but that is only because of the very real fact that griefing is allowed and it is expected.
The better the base, the more satisfying the 'grief'. The answer to your question is that it pleased whoever did it, because they knew it would negatively affect so many people. Not sure how long it took or how it happened, but spending 4~ hours griefing something like this is undoing many months of non stop grinding and work. Yea, it is a griefers wet dream.

Not toxic, it’s part of the server. If something gets found, it will be griefed ineveitably. No way around it. Once you play on the server you get used to it.
@@benlane215 Yes, what you say is completly true, but THIS building? I mean, its one of the most impressive and massive buildings made in survival I have seen in my life...well, luckily there is a world download, but all the items in chests or item frames are gone, and only Fit have It.

This is a masterpiece, such intricate constructions deserve to be preserved and although it’s death was inevitable since it became public, the toxic inhuman internet griefing trolls that brought it upon themselves to commit the deed just wish to see the world burn, and they should get their house or base blew up to see how they like it. Pro Tip: All Bedrock patterns are the same on every world, so you can use a client, I made my own, and fine it through bedrock tracking. Make sure to find a chunk (16x16) pattern for precise hunting.

99.9% of 2b2t players used hacked clients, so yes it would
X-ray hacks can be used to find bases
Oh yeah, a lot of players use freecam which is basically spectator mode, you can look through blocks with it, it's very easy to see bases underground with it. The players that don't use freecam use ESP which outlines chests and shulker boxes and displays them through terrain. It was only a matter of time before the base was found because its only a little under 7000 blocks from an axis.
