    You don't grow out of shounen, you grow out of bad shounen. Isekai Cheat Magician was someone's first anime/shounen, and they probably loved it, but that was because they didn't know better shounen existed. Simple stories are not bad, bad stories are bad.

      Holy shit that's actually a pretty good comment.I'll give you that. Dandadan is a Shonen after all. The reason why I'm so definitive with my statement is that good Shonen are a thing but the ratio of bad to good is quite skewed. At the very least if I were to concede I would say that the bad ones are far more advertised than the good ones.
      When you discover good animes in general it's easy to leave Shonen in the dust and watch anything else. It also doesn't help that Shonen have a tendency to start great and end bad. I also agree that a simple story is no bad story. Kingdom Hearts had a great simple story in it's first outing only to become mind numbingly complicated in it's sequels.
      Full Metal Alchemist did not disappoint but Jujutsu Kaisen did.
