    Great video! I’ve enjoyed many of them. I’m a farm kid from the 70’s-80’s… loved Farming… But I’m saddened by the Military Industrialized Complex that Has Removed the small family farms from this Nation! Those small farms Had a wealth of benefits! The millions of kids growing up on them that learned so many valuable life lessons.. Hard work, where their food came from, how to fix things, problem solve, etc, etc.!!

    To think that one of these machines will do as much as 10-15 machines from the seventies is astounding. Just keeping the threshed grain away from these machines is a real job. 4-6 bushels per second is a lot. If you have ever shoveled in a bin you can appreciate how much that is.

    • @bigtractorpower

      The combines from the 70’s were so big in their day. I like getting any chance I can to film a 1970’s combine at work. They are painfully slow in comparison to today’s monster machines. But they are still very cool to see.

    Sometimes it's unbelievable how big these combines have gotten. Just when you think they can't get any bigger, sure enough someone makes one bigger. Rural roads the way they are, hard to believe that these combines can get to the field. Good information as always here. Thanks for sharing. Take care.

    Use to drive for a grain and feed outfit down here in Texas. Company had 10 hopper bottoms and during harvest we'd fight about who got those big rigs. Tell the buggy drivers just LOAD THE WAGON DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE MULES. We'd roll out of those fields in about 15 minutes grossing 110k. Get back to the bins test it, dump it, and go get another one. Those big harvesters can make a driver some money.

    Any one of these machines sure beat riding that tractor drawn self powered John Deere combine tieing Miller's knots bagging wheat n oats in 90° to sometimes 100° degree dusty heat back in the mid 50s on the CNY farm I boarded out as a teen.

    Impressive video. Well done love it. All the combines are favorite. Just would like to know why some operators keep the unloading augers open?

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching. I will tell you for the unloading augers are out. These combines are running 5,000 to 7,000 bu of corn an hour. They basically never stop unloading on the go. The X9s in this video for example were in 300 bu. Corn running 5 mph. The X9s would no dinner finishing unloading than it was time to unload again. They would unload 3 times in a half if a mile.

    That claas was unloading very fast . I prefer our gleaner s98s they work well for us . We like the grain sample quality and the grain loss is extremely low . We always had a poor sample in corn from our johndeere s680s with cracked kernels With the gleaners we don't see that . The cost of ownership is what we really like they are simple and reliable.

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my opinion Gleaner S series leave the least amount of grain and produce the best sample.

      @@bigtractorpower That is the claim to fame of the Fendt Ideals as well. Clean, no cracks and more bushels in the tank makes a lot of payments at the bank.
