We used to periodically visit the original shop in Poulton-le-Fylde and bulk buy their medium pork pies. Nice cold or heated (with mushy peas). Freezable too. During the pandemic they used to do deliveries. I'd buy the aforementioned pies, but also a frozen "porkie pack". These had four steak & onion, four cheese & onion, four meat & potato and four large sausage rolls. I'd primarily bought these for the m&p and c&o elements, but the other two were a great pleasant surprise (especially since I've never been mad on sausage rolls) and influenced further purchases. A decent blackcurrant pie too. Haven't been for a while. I must remedy that.
The Porkie Pack sounds great mate...nice to have some variety and try out different things that you wouldn't normally buy. I really enjoyed the pies from the Pork Shop and would definitely buy them again...staff pleasant too. Cheers for the comment mate.👍
Strangely enough, We were in Lytham on Saturday, and we went to this bakery. We got threevpork pies, a "potato and meat" and a pasty. I wasn't too keen on the pork pie as I found it too dry, not enough jelly,my husband agreed with you. The other pie and the pasty we're delicious.I have to admit I've never had a butter pie, I thought it was just buttery mashed potato? The other pie had more potato than meat as seems usual these days, I do long for a time when a meat and potato pie was as described. It's not a bad little shop, though. I think we also got a large fruit pie from there, very nice. If I might add, when you showed the view down the street towards the pie shop, you could see a building covered in scaffolding that covers the entrance to Seniors fish and chip cafe where we had lunch. We had some of the best fish and chips we've had in a long, long time, and I would highly recommend it. I don't know if you review cafes or if you've been in it, James, but give it a go.
@@martinjb55 I think l saw the fruit pies in the shop and they looked good....glad you enjoyed it and yes, overall l was impressed with what l bought and not a bad price. I did see Seniors and will try them out one of these days. I know they have a few shops in and around Lancashire so not far to go for me. Cheers for the comment and take care. All the best to you.👍
Next time you're in Lytham check out Kevin Barry's pies, pasties and scotch eggs , you'll need to get there early though as most of their stuff is gone by 2ish, also they are closed on Wednesday's. They're next door to a chippy just across from the Library , I can recommend the traditional pastie and the pork pies and the scotch eggs, well worth a visit.
Can't get a pork pie anything like that down here in Kent. I lived in Yorkshire for a while, and the pies from the butcher's in town were amazing. I used to bring them back down south for my Mum. I'm jealous.
excellent prıces for a pıe plus that warm Pork Pie looks tasty. Worth a day out from Bolton? (You should carry a jar of Colemans with you - and maybe a sachet or two of brown sauce!)
@@paulhembrough3680 All very nice indeed mate and l would say Lytham is definitely worth a day out mate, plus a really good pie shop. I will take some mustard next time....good shout that. Cheers for the comment.
@@marilyngoossens1379 loads of creamy potato, onion and butter. They taste divine. The one l had in this vlog didn't look great but tasted good. Cheers.👍
If it's good, then it's reasonable...but..question...who's ever gonna eat,a hot porkpie....??..wow...that's just wrong, big time....always cold, with salt, and mustard 😋
Hot pork pies with mushy peas. Not to be under-estimated! As for soggy bottoms - maybe a candidate for an air fryer. I've warmed quiche in there and the base wasn't soggy at all.

Pork pie looked nice 😝
It was lovely. Not everyone's cup of tea but you can't beat a bit of nice pork. Cheers.

Is that Lytham quality Pies next to Whelan's chippy? It's on my radar if its the same place mate. Cheers👍

Love a good pie mate. I was down in Dover not too long ago and didn't see any decent pie shops. Cheers for the comment.👍

The freshly baked pies hot from Abingdon Street in Blackpool have the juices running out of them when you bite into them.
Is that at the market or a shop on Abingdon Street? Always up for a recommendation.
Might get one of those Pork Pies for the Christmas period.
Very nice for Christmas mate. Enjoy
What is a Butter Pie?
A delicious Preston and Lancashire delicacy....a pie containing lots of potato and onion in a creamy buttery gravy/sauce. Very nice indeed. Cheers.
Ah James one of my favourite stops the pasties are great as well.
@@dingleydell3250 no idea what they do to the pastry but it's kind of sticky and has a bit of sweetness to it.....very nice indeed. Cheers👍
Lytham, Lancashire, ENGLAND, UK
used to be the pasty shop, if the pies are as good as the pasties you can't go wrong
@@peterpheasey7352 they were great mate and l would definitely go back. Hoping to to another couple of vlogs in Lytham soon. Cheers mate.
They look spot on better than any of that filth you'd get in Yorkshire
@@therealisation5500 😂 I do like Yorkshire and their Fish & Chips too.
Egg yolk i think the glace is

Maybe not hot but l do like a warm pork pie with the juice running out of them. Saying that, l like them cold too, like you, with mustard.😂😋
I used to put them in pie warmer at work for an hour, decent but the pastry goes soggy😂
@leehenry5764 nobody likes a soggy bottom mate😂 Cheers

Butter pie looked miserable, not keen on pork, but the potatoe pie looked really good 👍
😂Butter pie didn't look great did it, tasted good though. Cheers mate.
Looked like a very average pork pie. Very little jelly visable and made with cured pork
Fair enough. Maybe I'm easily pleased to eat something different to the usual supermarket bought pies etc. Cheers Paul.👍
Too much pastry on the pork knocker. On the edges of the crust, filling and the rest look good.
Fair do's mate. Everyone had different ratio tolerances. Cheers.
