Lived in Preston all my life . For pies you must go to Rounds in Ribbleton, Berries on new hall lane and Deans in Ashton. All top notch but for me Rounds is best because the pastry is thin and tastey .

The banter, Plus the one hander got my subscription.. The crumb clean up crew (pigeons) tells me that was a good pasty and pie, These pigeons will not really eat a walkers crisp crumb or a subway for example but a good pie they will come flocking. its called metropolitan evolution.

Thank you for posting this. My wife's family are from Camberley, Surrey, but they have sort of migrated to Devon. There are so many parts of your Island nation that I crave to see. So you have helped me enjoy this area vicariously. We live in the States but get back to the UK so my wife can visit the English side of her family (her Dad is American, her mother British). Did you have malt vinegar on both the chips and the fish? Or maybe not at all? No mushy peas--are they not a thing in Wales? Or maybe you just don't like mushy peas. Anyway, good video.

I've lived in preston all my life . Rounds is the best pie shop ever. Our daughters live in Plymouth now but always ask us to bring rounds pies down when we visit ... Legendary pies. Here's hoping they are around for ever . And the owner nick is a big PNE fan too.

All looked absolutely gorgeous and at a very reasonable price. When i know that i have a bit to go to find a place to eat my fish and chips i never have them in a carrier bag, i hate it when the condensation makes it all sweaty, and the peas did look nice and not fluorescent and skinless fish is the best. Just out of curiosity what is your favorite wrapping ?? Old school Just in the paper, on a polystyrene tray or the new style in a cardboard box or tray ,which i find stops the food going all sweaty 👍👍🐟🍟🫛

Another great find lovely looking fish and chips and very reasonably priced, haddock is always the winner for me but cod is a close second. And great looking spicy fruity curry sauce, but I always prefer to have it in the tub when having fish because I am jinxed with bones in fish and end up doing an autopsy on the fish 👍👍🍟🐟

Don't forget preston used to have the UK snooker in the guild hall, it was a big thing here. It's a crying shame it's derelict , it just had a good atmosphere. Also Van Halen, Led Zep, Bowie, Queen, Stone Roses , Blondie, played there.

Had a meat & potato pie from Galloway's did not enjoy it salty sludge other things I have tried from them have been good pie let them down

Galloways have always sold top pies - shame things have gone so crazy price wise

On your travels could you point out if they do gluten free stuff . Me daughter has coeliac disease and we struggle to find a chippy that does gluten free . Cheers.

Galloways is a decent NW bakery, but a chain, so most branches will sell exactly the same stuff. Gone up in price recently!

I highly recommend Paul's Pies on Fishergate hill near the train station. His pies are the best in Preston 🙂
