The score for this film is just magnificent. It really tugs at your heartstrings. It makes you feel several emotions at the same time: extreme joy, nostalgia, sadness but, most importantly, it uplifts you. It does what any great score is supposed to do by immersing you in the world of the story. It's honestly one of my favorite Pixar scores, right up there with "Inside Out" and "Ratatouille" (both of which were composed by Michael Giacchino). Dan Romer did a fantastic job with this one. 👏
Thank you for making this! Luca has a lot of beautiful motifs, a couple more are Alberto’s Theme (‘You Forgot Your Harpoon’ 0:00, ‘Silenzio Bruno’ 0:14, ‘That’s the Dream’ 1:06) and Giulia’s Theme (‘This Isn’t Any Old Race’ 0:00, ‘Rules Are for Rule People’ 0:16) Dan Romer did a beautiful job! :)
I love this movie, it came out during a thought time of my life but the music is so uplifting and beautiful, it made me feel emotions I hadn't felt in a long time.
There seem to have a lot more motifs 1. Meet Luca (2:49) That’s the Dream (0:00) Telescope (0:39) 2. Buonanotte Boys (0:15) Telescope (1:04) How to Find the Good Ones (0:00) 3. Buogiorno Massimo (1:37) Telescope (2:23) Beyond the Solar System (0:42) 4. Signor Vespa (0:00) The Out of Town Weirdo Tax (0:57) We Don’t Need Anybody (0:56) 5. The Portorosso Cup (4:55) Go Find Out for Me (0:37) 6. Land Monsters Everywhere (0:13) Buongiorno Massimo (1:57) (2:34) Not Our Kind (0:00) 7. The Bottom of the Ocean (1:23) How to Find the Good Ones (0:54) (4:29) Also Luca’s theme appeared several times more e.g. Phantom Tail (0:38) Vespa è Libertà (1:10) Signor Vespa (0:37) (This one’s not significant) The Portorosso Cup (0:15) So the movie’s soundtrack is just like putting motifs in different combinations :)
Thank you for aking this! My English composition class is doing an essay on the effect of soundtrack and movies and of course I had to choose to write about the final scene.
Good catches on motif 1! But there is also a 3rd motif that seems to be Alberto's theme (just like motif 2 is actually Luca's one) that plays in "take me gravity", when Luca meets Al first time under the sea, when he shows him air and other stuff and when he appears bringing him an umbrella at the race It's really hopeful, energic and sweet, just like Alberto!
@@XMarx-it1yj I like how the themes of alberto and luca end up merging together in the vespa dream sequence. I am still trying to find out which theme is giulia’s
@@muffinpaste that was beautiful! It was probably the scene where I realized they had their respective themes: Luca's one being full of wonder and will to discover, while Alberto's one sounding hopeful and upbeat ... too bad only Luca's one was heard in "Go find out for me"
@@XMarx-it1yj i think that luca’s theme is all around the movie, whenever he has those dream sequences, when something important involving him happens, like when he saved alberto, or them first making a vespa. most of the time, it is just a little bit of his theme, but when it is the full theme, it is surreal. alberto gets his theme a lot too, but it is sometimes a little difficult to point out. during the beginning right after luca meets alberto, his theme plays in a minor key version. luca’s parents’ theme is very distinct, with an oboe i believe. I still for some reason cannot point my finger on giulia’s theme.
Motif 2 is literally my favorite thing ever, I literally cry every time I hear it tbh especially the ‘that’s the dream’

We couldn't agree more ♡
One of my favorite too 🔥
Luca’s score is my favorite too! It’s also my favorite Pixar movie by far. I don’t think anything will top it for a very long time.
You put into words what I couldn’t explain 💔💖
Motif 2 is abaolutley stunning. And simply beautiful
the last one is...is... IS THE ONE THAT MADE ME CRIED
it's emotional
@FJMZ Silent Gamer for me it's the slowness, the percussion it has, and overall, the strings, the strings always get me
Beautiful movie
The last two get me every time... how can something be so heartwarming, and so heartbreaking at the same time?
The ending motif is just mindblowingly amazing 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Motif 2 allways make me cry
I cry everytime I listen to "Telescope". It's just so beautiful and fills my soul in all the right places!

I was just gonna comment that ;•;
What about 'Take Me, Gravity'? I hear it quite a bit in few others, most notable being 'How to Find the Good Ones'

Ya the best soundtrack ever 👍🥰 i Listen too many times
It's crazy to think that for version 2 it's all the same song, but somehow the sound is so different
to be honest i didn't even notice the first motif until now, though i noticed the second and absolutely loved it
Stop, Dan Romer, i'll cry myself to death! Also, you forgot Alberto's theme.
there is a 3rd motif I believe. I think that the soundtrack part named "Take Me Gravity" has it.
