I wasn't able to get the bracket bolt loosened, but I was able to place the new valve just in front of the old one as a short term fix until I can get it properly placed. Thanks for the vid. Edit: just FYI that was on a CRV
2003 Honda Accord four cylinder 2.4 ltre put the heat on but it blows out cold air but no overheating do you think it's just a control module or thermostat engine light went on after this happened?
Many thanks 🙏🌹 Does honda civic 2013 has an electric heater core control valve to allow hot water to flow inside the heater core in Case of hot AC is on ?? Or the hot water flows continueosly through the heater core with out any control valve even The hot AC is off??
the piece that broke of in the heater control is probably somewhere in the cooling system ..ie caught in the thermostat housing ...stopping the thermostat opening properly causing the car to over heat as customer told you ... no im not a mechanic.. or does this broken off piece get caught in the dash heater radiater ... or did the customer mean the interior overheats and not the engine...
No. The opening in the housing that holds the screw for the cable leaks enough coolant when it breaks to cause the overheating. These cars don't have large coolant capacities ~ 1.25 gallons
@@JayeK47 my bad .... my brain is clouded .. by my civic 5 door 's valve ... it wont move with /by cable .... i get partial movement if I push the stem the cable attaches too with my finger ...ouch !... so yes I can see now where the loss of coolant is ... thanks for the video
I actually have the same problem today with the piece actuall was warn out n broke the same way so I have a question j said about turning heater on n bleeding it how does that work
I heard somewhere that revving the engine a few times will make the coolant flow through the radiator and displace the air. Not sure if it actually works that way, though. (I'm trying to educate myself on replacing this valve)
Typically when refilling a cooling system, you turn the heat on High (temp) & Low fan setting to allow the coolant to flow through the heater core. This ensures coolant is circulating through the entire system & pushing out any air that may have entered during the repair while the system was "open". I sometimes had to give the hoses a few squeezes as well & watched air bubbles "burp" out from my overflow tank.
sikk raz3r I just took the rod off the heater valve and turn it open so heat could get it and it work during summer I’ll just close it and put the rod on it and cool air blows not really a fix but cheated it
Coolant was leaking out of the hole created by the arm that was snapped off (the actuator). Eventually enough coolant escaped the cooling system that the vehicle overheated.
You need to squeeze the tabs on the clamp toward each other with pliers. The tabs will line up and the clamp will expand, then you drag them off down the hose - they won't come off completely until the hose is off. If the hose has never been off it will probably be difficult to remove from the fitting. Just keep twisting it back and forth while steadily pulling it - don't yank on it.
Very often it can. There is a flange where the control cable attaches to the heater core valve. That flange fatigues and breaks causing a coolant leak. You can usually tell when it's going out because the heat control only works intermittently or won't open or close the valve completely. When it goes you can smell coolant and the heat control won't work at all.
Same question! During summertime, driver's side 2 vents blow warm air, but passenger side 2 vents blow cold air! This happens regardless if in dual mode or not. During summertime, driver's side blows 80deg yet passenger side blows 65deg. Will replacing this valve shown in video fix my issue?

What were your symptoms?
Overheating and no heat
will the heater control valve for honda crv fit in honda civic 1998?
Haroon Siddique not sure but I would just look your car up in any auto part store and get the right part. It’s only like 20 bucks.
@@jqsqueue Can not find heater control valve for honda civic that is (Denso n118c). But the one for honda crv (Denso n106f) looks quite similar.
Good video, appreciate the help ... stay safe
Just had this repaired by my mechanic...$90 for labor and part...yay!! Another mechanic chain wanted $351.00.
I did it. Thanks for your help!

Great job
Cannot match bracket back up enough to get the little screw in top hole, is there a different tool iam using 10m rachet.
The harbor freight long reach hose plier set is $14.99 (cheaper with coupons). If the hoses are stubborn the pliers will help.

Hey bro thanks , but I have a new problem I’m change the valve ,but now the ca it’s just cold any idea?
Nice job, Arthur!
Do you need to flush the anti freeze before do the replacement of the valve ?
Thank you this really help me
It would've been better to actually see you remove the part and put the new one on
Derrick Wright right !
Cool!!! Make a video yourself!
Can these leak? Or would the leak only come from the hoses cracking?
Just got the exact same issue on my Accord
So my heater control valve arm isn't broken but mine keeps leaking from the bottom of that same piece of my coolant should I change that part?
Yes
this is whats happening with mine. im gonna change it today any advice
So is it a disintegrated plastic ball valve, or does it have a metal gate that is trapped in the heater core now?
This one was just a hard plastic valve on the inside, it pretty much was already nothing but small pieces left.
What is the part number for the hoses that connect to that valve?
awesome!!! thank you!

How do you take off the blue wire

How do you take off the clamps or loosen them

I changed this part and still have no heat. Any ideas why?
It could be the heater core or the blend door actuator.
air in the system. try bleeding the air out.
V6 owners mad it ain’t this easy access
Will this also effect the ac?

@@yilancio Yes, the valve has to close when the heat control knob is in the very cold position.
Why would changing the heater control valve fix an over heated engine?
I think by “over heating” he means the cabin air temperature inside the vehicle, not the engine.
Coolant was leaking out of the hole created by the arm that was snapped off (the actuator). Eventually enough coolant escaped the cooling system that the vehicle overheated.
