2023 makes it seem like 2019-2022 for Multiverse were just a trial run for understanding the articulation scheme/building up body molds and letting Todd make the versions of characters he really wants, and now McFarlane is really digging deep to make figures that DC fans actually want
Well, except female figures that aren't Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Starfire...none of which I've gotten my hands on because they've sold out very fast.
for me is the Supes vs. Doomsday twopack the best from last year, waited so long and finally now I have a Doomsday, still on the hunt for Superboy and someday Steel too to get at least a small Death and Return of Superman collection
The only thing I don't like about Page Punchers Black Manta is that he has a small helmet, but in general this is not so striking when the figure itself looks very cool, I agree with you
I loathe that Superman "Injustice" design, but wholeheartedly agree with you that the sculpt McFarlane created from that design is perfect and is the best looking Superman fig Todd and Co. released last year. I have none of the other figs you reviewed except the Poison Ivy. It is a beautiful figure. Tall, statuesque, just like Uma Thurman. I might pick up that Kalibuk at some point. Thanks for your video.
@@5POAFigureReviews That is one of the things I so respect about your sensibility with toy reviews, just because a toy might not be "good" for you does not mean it is not made well. Rare quality.
Thanks so much! I have two more for 2023 planned, but lots more top 10s in the coming months. Definitely something I enjoyed doing and want to do more of moving forward
Great list! Don't remember if Catman came out this year but if he is then he's my top fig for 2023! Love the color scheme and the cape is super functional.
@@5POAFigureReviews Ohh alright, thanks for clarifying and as mentioned, still a great list! Here's hoping you'll be able to score a Catman down the line as he just super fits a classic villains shelf! :)
He's absolutely gorgeous as a figure and a definite improvement over the Mattel one! Did have to spend forever tracking him down though, even the 3-pack with Catman/Riddler/Superboy was out of stock on the McFarlane website for a long time.
Great video! I don't feel it's ever too late for a Top 10 list, sometimes you just gotta take your time & make sure it feels done right. Love your content, let's see a Worst Of 2023 now!
I totally agree with #1 pick. On of my favorite figures right now. It’s standing by a card stand. Very nice shelf presence! Also agree with your list! Pretty much spot on!
The best part about that section is I filmed half of it last May when I first got it in the mail, and you'll never be able to tell which parts are old and which parts I just shot lol
That was an awesome ranking! I’m so glad to see ‼️spoiler‼️ Poison Ivy so far up in this list! The beautiful sculpting and paintwork is amazing. Biggest surprise of the year! She may be my favorite dc multiverse figure ever. I’m so excited to see the Batman figures ranked! And seeing wonder woman on there was pretty cool. I’ve been looking for her since she was released but she’s been sold out or overpriced everywhere. I’m a freshman in high school this year, and I haven’t been able to get a job yet since my parents work all day. I commented on that video with all the reasons I want it too. It took a little while 😅 But congratulations to whoever wins that giveaway! Have a good day!
Thanks for the Spoiler Warning for other viewers btw! It's a spectacular figure and will be getting a lot of love on the channel in the weeks ahead once I am done with the Wonder Woman giveaway. Two videos at least.
Honestly I am happy that they didn't, because I really do think that they'll make it a separate release, and if so I'm hoping that they'll be able to address a couple of the issues with this one. Mainly just the color balances. If so, I'll happily snatch it up!
Amazing list !! For my number 1 figure in my list it would have to be Robin from the Batman and Robin BAF Mr freeze wave, it’s a new sculpt and a great movie Robin figure
Yeah I really like that one, like I said the only thing that frustrates me is the imbalance between the red and the yellow. Otherwise it's darn near perfect
Firestorm reuses the legs from page punchers superman, which is actually a fine example of reuse Very awesome to see ivy made your list too, very surprised she is such a good figure Beetle also clocked high on my list! If I had to chose I think the weapon version is better, just cause the wing version lacks a stand I do agree with the flash figure, though I only got the regular release, still an awesome figure! my number 1 for the year was page punchers black manta
I think my favorite 2023 figures are Sasha Calle's Supergirl as it comes, and the Chris O'Donnell Robin as a simple headswap turns him into a very niche version of Tim Drake/Red Robin (which is both my favorite character and look for the character).
I do hoped that you can review the new digital wave rebirth batman blue due to having a Bruce wayne headsculpt and then try to use it for other batman bucks my guy plz do it for me and compare him to superman as always 😊
One thing I hated about that Wonder woman how she sold out so quick where a lot of regular collectors missed out where scalpers had 5-8-12 of the Wonder woman on eBay and Mercari salen her for triple the price where I missed out I couldn't afford or was willing too pay them Scalper prices
i like how good 2023 was for mcfarlane and how they immediatly started screwing up as soon as the year ended. Hopfully they'll find thier footing again.
I understand that price is one of your grading criteria. However, I feel there is too much emphasis put on price as a category to determine if a figure is good or not. The collector edition price is based on the size of the production run, not the accessories (in my opinion). Also, I do not understand why we wanted to limit spots on a top ten based on what type of figure it was. Only one mega figure is allowed on the top ten...Why? Seems like there were a lot of behind the scene rules to this top ten to disqualify this as an actual top ten.
I totally get where you're coming from, and I really appreciate the feedback! From my perspective, putting limits is a matter of giving the the greatest variety of figures the best chance of being on the list. Currently, I'm working on a video where I'm ranking all of the DC Multiverse Batman figures of 2023, give or take a few I don't have, and there's about 20 of them. If I allowed all 20 Batmans to be in competition for the best of the year, then half the list would be Batman, which is neither fair to all the other great figures nor is it a lot of fun to watch. So that's my reasoning, though I can accept that it might not be a perfect system. As far as Price, I think of it as a balance between the value in box and also availability. Going back to my Firestorm and Alan Scott analogy, the same $30 for each, both in the same assortment, both lots of new sculpting, but one has two accessories and the other gets 8. One is clearly a better value, and I do believe value matters. I know we still might not agree, but I do hope that if my explanation hasn't changed your mind that I have at least done a good job of communicating my methodology.
Technically…you could make a top 10 figures of X year…whenever you want. I see people do it all the time. I would also argue Batman and Robin is a standout movie…in that it stands out how crap it is. (Insert Gordon Ramsay “you surprise me at how sht you are” meme)
Well, Kevin feige did say that if it wasn't for the failure of Batman and Robin, we would have never gotten Batman Begins, which means we might not have gotten the mcu. So it does have that going for it LOL

I mean that’s kinda how all products work. They start out with an idea, see what works and what doesn’t and improve on it.
Well, except female figures that aren't Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Starfire...none of which I've gotten my hands on because they've sold out very fast.
I agree, the injustice superman is a fantastic sculpt and now we have a top tier wonder woman we might get a cheetah this year
I hope so!
So glad WW is your favorite and #1 on your list. She is by far my favorite figure. I love posing her and she is a playable figure.
Oh yeah, top tier
for me is the Supes vs. Doomsday twopack the best from last year, waited so long and finally now I have a Doomsday, still on the hunt for Superboy and someday Steel too to get at least a small Death and Return of Superman collection
I think Page Punchers Black Manta deserved an honorable mention at least
The only thing I don't like about Page Punchers Black Manta is that he has a small helmet, but in general this is not so striking when the figure itself looks very cool, I agree with you
I can see it. That really is an awesome figure.
Pretty solid list dude and tbh its never too late for a top 10 list, got notis on for that injustice superman review tho
I’m glad you post daily

Ha! Well if they got me it's only fair I got you too lol
Not too late for these types of videos. Great list! I got the platinum variant of WW and love it.
