You've mentioned before that race shoes get more views, but I'm glad you're covering the people's shoes and not chasing metrics. These comparisons are really useful!
Been waiting for a max cushion showdown! “This is going to be a titanic matchup for the ages, so get your gels ready, strap up, buckle in, let’s get into it!”
I’m with you on running the some route. I have 2 routes I run consistently and do enjoy them. There is just something about knowing a familiar route that is cool. It’s fun to look back and compare runs from months back on each route and see progress. “ Hobby Jogger route” T shirt?
Just picked up More V5 for my easy day shoe. Huge improvement for me over the V4. The V4 was unstable in the foam and the sidewalls caused blisters. The V5 is more stable, wider, maybe not as soft in feel but just as forgiving on tired legs. Been having shin splints and they make running doable while I heal back up.
@EmoneyXC I got them in thr mail yesterday. Ran a 5k in them today and got a PR. I have narrower feet, I love the way they fit. They have a perfect amount of stack in the forefoot. The rocker is not aggressive at all, but my feet felt great dur8ng and after the race! Would recommend. I'm 6'2", 238lb
I do run the same routes everyday either at home or at the lake..being able to stop by the house if the shoes aren't working on the day keeps me running every day regardless of the weather or how I feel that day..at the lake my route takes me by a couple of little stores that I can get a water and the route is a mix of dirt roads, trails and pavement..shade trees also make a sunny day better for my long runs..these dog days of summer can make it tough to stay motivated..a race every weekend helps my routine stay on course..I do like the softer shoes, but not the heavy ones..fortunately we can have softer and lighter shoes with some experience picking out what works for you..😊
Hurricane looks like a good time on feet shoe, like people use the Hokas. Back from vacation so I have to catch up on a couple videos still. The Adizero SL2 was a fantastic do it all shoe. I did a lot of short to moderate runs plus walking all over London and various parts of Greece. The outsole still looks like brand new. Traction was solid on pavement, hard packed dirt, and gravel. Fine on wet pavement but a little sketchy on greasy wet surfaces and some of the slick marble sidewalks in Greece; I don't think anything would be great there. It was super comfortable to have on foot for hours and I never felt like it was flattening out. Soft but not mushy. I highly recommend as a workhorse do everything shoe for sub-150 lb runners. I don't think I can speak for bigger runners.
I've gotta get some more miles in that but it's been great so far. More v5 is a lot softer which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea. Ghost max 2 will work much better if you need a more structured midsole to support weight/force
Thanks for such an excellent comparison! I have a question, with which of these two shoes would you say there is less sensation of the ground when you run or walk?
It feels like a moderate drop - def doesn't feel 8/10. There's a noticeable difference in drop feel from the Triumph 22 which was a 10mm - I think it may be a visual trick on this colorway with the midsole colors. In terms of stability the only thing noticeable as a neutral runner is the very secure and rigid heel piece in the upper. Other than that there's nothing overly notable about the stability
Would you rate the V5 for a cruiser runner needing comfort and stability but with some pop, not fast but looking at 2-3 hours on feet, 138 lbs 😂is that heavy 🤷♀️ had the shift 3 and enjoyed that foam kind off
How would you compare the upper of the more v5 to an invincible run 3 upper? I’m looking for a new daily and I’m on the tail end of my 3rd invincible run 3. I tried the gel nimbus 25 and that upper made my feet to hot. I bring that up because the more v5 upper looks similar to the gel nimbus 25
I want the more v5, but don't really like any of the colorways.😅 I'm looking forward to you reviewing the pegasus plus. Also wondering what the Nike invincible 4 will be??
Would you say that the Hurricane 24 is the true legacy of the Triumph 20/21. Looking for a replacement for my favorite daily trainer and based on reviews it’s not the 22. Much appreciated 🙏🏼
I love the Hurricane but it's a lot heavier/more cushioned on foot. I actually did a video on this exact topic a few weeks ago! My top pick if you're looking for that cushioned workhorse daily is the Supernova Prima but I have some more recommendations in that video as well th-cam.com/video/evP1-03sVow/w-d-xo.html
Also the true legacy would be the Ride 17 but they made that foam a lot firmer and it's really not an enjoyable experience. The other picks in the replacements video I did are much better
I also just got the Hurricane today. Recommend these for heavier runners over More V5. I have both. Sad to say. The MorebV5 heels bottom out.. and I am dominated a midfoot striker. Love the NB but these Hurricanes are 🔥 amount of firmness
@supwell just finished my first 5 miles in them. Great shoe. I never heard of these til today. Sun & Ski had 1 pair. I got my More V5's from Fleet Feet so I will exchange them for the Balos next month. More V5 is a great walking shoe, but super mushy after I put miles in them.
@@JeffHardyyyyyheads up you may have the same issue with the balos - it's just as soft as the more v5 if not a little softer if that's even believable 😂 if you're looking for another cushioned shoe you may want to consider ghost max 2 or if you want new balance wait til the 1080v14 drops in September. I think that one will be a little firmer/more supportive than the more and balos
@supwell interesting! So, I love my SL2's. I have the 1080s for my daily shoe. I wear it to work. They're filthy! Honestly, I think I have my shoe line up, now. Between the SL2's, Hurricane 24's, and the Endorphin Pro 4's. I just love shoes. Waiting til September is definetly an option! All my shoes are so versatile. I can always just return to Fleet Feet, but they'll probably ban me once I do. Shoe #5 returned this year 🙈🤣🤣
Saucony hurricane 24 versus New balance 860 v13 or v14 they both seem to be similar.. which would you advise for daily wear shoes I'm not actually a runner just standing of my feet for hours at work and i need good stability.
For standing hours on feet I would highly recommend the hurricane 24! It's more cushioned than the new balance shoes and is one of my favorite comfort oriented shoes of the year
Just wondering since I have the More V3 for my easy runs, would you put the 860 v 14 in the same category as say the Novablast 4 as a daily trainer for say lighter runners, just want something to put on for those steady miles which doesn’t wear the sole down in say 200 miles ? The 860 to me looks better for my weight than say the 1080 which is maybe too soft.
Lol, I’m about to watch this on the Wahoo, I think it’s gonna be great (although I’ll admit I didn’t expect to see Hurricane in the two best category)…
Brooks ghost max! The original version not the 2. It's soft but supportive and has perfect cushion for standing all day. If you're in the US it's on sale right now for $120 as well. If you don't have brooks available near you then the Saucony hurricane 24 is a good choice as well. Similar qualities but a little bouncier and $160

As the heavier and slower, mid/forefoot striker I cannot say how often I’ve had to donate a pair of great running shoes because the midsole had bottom out on me in the middle of the run (especially in the forefoot). The resilience of the foam is the deciding factor, the weight barely plays a role. Hurricane would clearly be my pick.
I like cushion, but nothing worse than cushion that absorbs your energy and saps your strength. That said, I pretty much judge shoes based on whether they hurt my knees or not😂.
Dude me too and I'm on the heavier side of things at 183lbs...so I usually run in the firmer foams. The ride 17 has been decent for long runs...it's on the firmer side. Compliant foams like the 1080v13 and nimbus 25 simply give quickly into a long run
@@Frichilsasta08 This may be why I kinda bonked out on a long run today with the 1080v13. Skyward X is my favorite of all those! I didn't put it in the same max cushion category as these since it has a plate, but that's my favorite all around shoe that can do every type of run. In terms of firm to soft it would go something like: guide 17, ghost max 2, skyward x, sc trainer v4, hurricane 24, more v5. Stay tuned for prima and Skyflow soon
No those are still one of my favorites! But I'd put them in a different category than these given the price, race foam and plate - might have to make a "comparing my favorite $200 training shoes" video 😂
I found the More to be clunky and slabby. I didn’t like it all. I was really disappointed after all your praise. Same with the Skyward X. Very ugly fit for a Hoka.

Great work mate very impressive your effort and helping people choice shoes!!
I'm a heal striker. 4mm drop doesn't work for me.
Ooo…Skywards are dethroned?!
Nooooo 😭 😱
No those are still one of my favorites! But I'd put them in a different category than these given the price, race foam and plate - might have to make a "comparing my favorite $200 training shoes" video 😂
@@supwell yea that would be sick actually, I’ve been looking at different $200+ shoes and it’s interesting how they can all have a different purpose
Superblast 2: let me out
Stay tuned - been trying to find a buyer for my left kidney so I can snag a pair on the black market
👍🏻
Is this ASMR
I found the More to be clunky and slabby. I didn’t like it all. I was really disappointed after all your praise. Same with the Skyward X. Very ugly fit for a Hoka.

Nope and nope! 1080v13.
Yeah hurricane is amazing for that. I wore it all day yesterday for walking, errands etc after my morning run in it and it was so comfortable. Up there with the ghost max for great walking shoes
And awesome update on the SL2. Adidas is undefeated when it comes to durability 💪🏽 I hope the trip was awesome. It'll be fun to do trips like that in a few years when the kids are older
Traveling when they're little is a lot of work. Now that mine are teenagers, they're a net help but it does make the trip more expensive.
