    The question is - do we have guts to survive? Many of us are able to do push ups but how many of us are able to do them despite of pain? Most people stop when it is painful. That is when survival starts

    My thing about prepping is that you can prep all you want and buy as much as you want but if you can’t get to the spot where everything is stored then what’s the point? I feel the best way to prep is to have a bug out bag in whatever vehicle you use with you at all times and take the time to perfect your survival skills in real nature. Like food hunting shelter first aid water and everything. If you have the funds then yes stock up on atleast a month to 3 months of food in your house or wherever. That will give you something to work towards in the case of a real survival situation. But Unless that location is secluded, I wouldn’t bet on being there to long and your clearly not going to have the power to carry years of food supply plus survival stuff. Your primitive skills will save you the most.

    That's a great saw you got, the best imo with the best grip for a pull stroke. Cuts fast. We used them a lot and got a lot less noise complaints. Of course it's easier with the tree holding the branch for you and you got two hands on the saw with both shoulders working.

    That looks like a pruning saw. I had a contest between a Fiskars pruning saw and a Corona pull saw on same diameter branch. I returned the Fiskars (took 62 cuts); the Corona took 19! I think the problem is the Fiskars or any pruning saw takes so many cuts as they are trying to seal the wound from cutting, while Corona just cuts the limb off in a hurry.
    I am still trying to get a hand ripsaw; they are $125 online. A friend has one he never uses, but won’t part with it. We’ll be back using hand tools once the grid goes out. Need to rip boards for thinner sizes, then hand plane down to size you need. I’m still learning, and I’m 76. I really like your channel.

I did get rid of my nightstands and put a five cubic foot freezer on each side of the bed in my spare bedroom and turned the closet into a small pantry. I am sorry to admit I don’t have a firearm. one philosophy i use, especially to "normies", is thinkin in terms of emergency preparedness. and from that base line try and determine what emergencies are MOST likely to occur to my household or in my area. and try to get all that would be needed for those first and keep those current. and that encompasses a whole lot to be sure but it becomes second nature after a while. and yeah i agree with you my man, you can spend too much time on prepping. i mean you have to live in the moment and enjoy life when you can. and you can also spend way too much on preps as well. the Word tells us a wise man will leave an inheritance for our grand kids. so with that being said you gotta use wisdom when prepping. just like everything else in life. great advice and reminders for the human race to live by sir. thanks.

    • @thankmelater1254
      @thankmelater1254 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good approach, you two.
      Another is to focus on saving money by buying sale items that are high in fat and protein value but store well. For example, cans of herring when they sell for about 30% off once a month in cities. A couple of hundred dollars gets you a year's worth of vital nutrients and can take up only one plastic tote. There - one year of not starving as long as you have the home/apt. secured.
      Even Doritos count. Try lighting one on fire. Wow, that burns almost like a candle it has so much fat in it. The take up too much space for storing lots of them but buy 20 bags when they are on sale about 40% off.
      Butter on sale at about 1/2 price. Buy 10 for the freezer. Keep in mind the massive losses if electricity goes down and being left unprepared after preparing that way.
      Spaghetti sauce goes on sale regularly. Fill a shelf.
      Buy flour and yeast. Learn to make bread in a slow cooker/crock pot.
      Suddenly food costs go down.
      We are looking at massive massive food cost rise just beginning right now due to green visions and petro killing politicians taxing use of it and destroying the ability to get it to market.
      Get that food cost down and eat better...and safeguard at least for a while against shortages and the massive inflation coming. Then preparing in other ways becomes more obviously a good idea.

      @@thankmelater1254 yeah man. always buy what you eat when it's on sale and get a few extra when you do. as for the butter you can clarify it and it will last years, just like dehydrating foods and vacuum sealing them in glass jars will extend the life of things you buy for years and years. with no worry about keepin anything frozen. and to help prove your point about food shortages and price increases go check out ice age farmer. it may just spur you even more like it did us.
